Welcome to OLÉ! (Orientation Launch Events) Weekend and USD. This five-day orientation program is the culmination of your Torero Countdown. This program contains all of the information you need to navigate each day, find out where you need to be and what will happen.

Campus Card Services

Hahn University Center (UC), Room 127 Friday – Saturday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Sunday, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Torero ID card: If you uploaded a photo over the summer, you will receive your Torero ID card when you move into your residence hall. Commuters and students who did not upload a photo may get their Torero ID card at Campus Card Services.

One Stop Student Center

Visit the USD Torero Store to buy your books, supplies, technology and USD apparel. If you ordered your textbooks online, your order will be available for pickup during normal business hours.

Students living on campus may visit the Mail Center Move-In Pickup location to pick up any packages sent to their university address prior to arrival. The Mail Center will be closed on Sunday and Labor Day.

What Matters in College: The Pursuit of Personal and Social Transformation Degheri Alumni Center, Room 120 This “first lecture” by Esteban del Río, PhD, associate provost and award-winning professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, promises a provocative, interactive and invigorating experience for the mind and the heart. This OLÉ! experience will challenge students to consider the ways they have been socialized to think about themselves, notions of success and the very stories that brought them to the doorstep of a college education. It helps us get to the whole point of a liberal education: personal and social transformation.

United Front Multicultural Center: This center engages the USD community in exploring and affirming the unique identity of each person and serves as an educational resource for students, faculty and staff. It’s located in the SLP.

Tu Mercado: A full-service grocery store, deli and coffee bar located on the second floor of the Student Life Pavilion.

Student Leadership, Involvement and Changemaking: This office oversees all student clubs and organizations and is located in the SLP.

Jenny Craig Pavilion: Home to several USD athletic teams, including men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball. It is also used for large special events, new student convocation and commencement.

UM PSAFE

Public Safety: The Department of Public Safety is located on the south side of the Hughes Administration Center and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help with emergency situations.

Missions A and B, San Buenaventura, SAPs, Valley Field, Mission Crossroads, Missions Café and Fitness Center: Collectively, these residence buildings, amenities and offices located on the east side of campus between the Student Life Pavilion and the Jenny Craig Pavilion are known as the Valley.

New Student Convocation Jenny Craig Pavilion (JCP) New Student Convocation is a USD academic tradition. This final session of OLÉ! Weekend is your formal academic induction and features a unique USD tradition, the “3x3” presentation.

Students coming from outside of California are invited to attend a social hosted by the out-of-state ambassadors. You will be directed to your regional space.
