This has been interpreted to mean that beauty will initially attract people who come to the campus, and when they are here, they will encounter people in whom they find a certain goodness. This, in turn, will lead them to the truth, which will hold them. For Mother Rosalie Hill, the search for truth was the purpose of the university.

MEMBERS DEEPALI ADVANI is a sophomore graduating a year early majoring in Real Estate. She serves as professionalism chair on Phi Chi Theta, and is a member of the Real Estate Society and the Asian Student Association. She is working on adding American Sign Language courses to USD and starting an ASL club since she was raised with deaf parents. She is getting her real estate license this summer and working at Pacific Coast Commercial. She plans to attend graduate school to earn her MBA after graduation. Deepali was born in Seattle, Washington and moved to Dallas, Texas in 2013.

NINA BLANCO is a Behavioral Neuroscience major with a concentration in pre-medicine and a minor in Theology and Religious Studies. Nina works to promote student development in Campus Recreation and is a member in Phi Delta Epsilon, Alpha Pi Sigma, where she has held executive board positions, Lettered Multicultural Council, and FUSO. She works as a Resident Assistant at USD, is a Pathmaker Intern with Palomar Medical Center, and helps promote diversity through her job with the San Diego Padres. She plans to attend medical school after graduation and eventually jumpstart a nonprofit that provides affordable healthcare to low socioeconomic communities. Nina is from Houston, Texas.

JENNIFER BUSTAMANTE is a senior at USD, with a Communication Studies major and International Relations and Political Science minors.

Originally from Mexico City, Mexico, she moved to San Diego at the age of 13. She was the editor-in-chief of Celebrando Latinas magazine, and launching publisher of the online news site Chula Vista Today. After graduation, she will pursue a career in international journalism. She loves running and has completed six marathons.

MIRIAM CASTANON is an English major with a Creative Writing emphasis and a Communication Studies minor. She is a Resident Assistant at USD, an Honors student and a tutor for a preparatory middle school. She plans to pursue a PhD degree and take part in MFA programs in the future in order to continue writing and publishing works. Miriam is from San Diego, California.

EMILY CHUA is a psychology major with minors in business administration and law and ethics. She is a Torero tour guide and a member of the Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience Honors Council. She is currently conducting research at the Center for Understanding and Treating Anxiety at San Diego State University on brain response to stimuli and mental illness via electroencephalogram data. She plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology with an emphasis in sport psychology and hopes to return to the world of academia to serve as a professor. Emily is from Tucson, Arizona.

DANIELLA CLARK is an International Relations major with minors in Business Administration and Supply Chain Management. She was a Torero ambassador mentor for Olé Ambassadors, tour escort, out-of-state ambassador, and is now the Honors Student events planning Chair. She is planning to intern in public policy for the summer, and study abroad at John Cabot's in Rome, Italy for the fall semester. She plans to join the Peace Corp after graduation and later possibly pursue a law degree. Daniella is from Denver, Colorado.

OLIVIA CRISTANTE is an economics major with a minor in law and ethics.

She is a member of the Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity and has held the position of PACE Chairwoman of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She is currently studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. Here, she is a human resources intern for TEAMLABS Madrid. She is studying for the LSAT exam and plans to pursue law school after graduation. Olivia is from Cave Creek, Arizona.

JENNIFER DESANTIS is a Psychology major and Biology minor. She was born and raised in sunny San Diego. On campus, she is a TA for Biological Psychology, a Psi Chi Honors society tutor for psychology, and is in the BN and Psychology Honors Council. She is also involved in a special needs organization off-campus called Miracle League., and is also a research assistant in the SDSU Brain Development Imaging Lab studying functional neuro anatomy and behavioral aspects of children with Autism. After USD, Jennifer plans to pursue graduate school to obtain her doctorate in Occupational Therapy.

JULIETTE DIGNUM is an Integrated Engineering major with a concentration in sustainability. Her passion for the environment has led her to develop strong career goals surrounding renewable resources and energy, and she plans on continuing her education to get an engineering Master’s degree after USD. She is an active member of the Society of Women Engineers and looks forward to leadership opportunities within the organization. Juliette is from Menlo Park, California.

KAITLYN DIVIJAK is a junior majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Political Science and Sociology. She has received Dean's List First Honors every semester that she has attended USD. Kaitlyn is member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society. She is in Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and serves as the Director of Academic Affairs. She is currently a services and event planning intern at PowerSchool. After graduation, Kaitlyn plans to attend law school and pursue a career in the legal field. Kaitlyn is from Tucson, Arizona.

MICHAELA DIVITO is an industrial and systems engineering major with a concentration in sustainability. She is currently involved in the Society of Women Engineers and the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers.

She also loves taking recreational classes through the Mission Bay Aquatic Center, including surfing and wakeboarding. She is an intern for the Center for Community Energy of San Diego, and she conducts research on supradegenerative lasers for the Physics and Biophysics Department. She hopes to make an impact in the renewable energy sector. Michaela is from Lake Forest, Illinois.

MADDY DOMINGO is a Political Science and Communications major from Novato, California. She is a tour guide, Alcalá Club member, Founders Chapel Choir cantor, pre-orientation retreat leader and member of fraternity and sorority life. She is currently finishing up her year abroad and will be returning to San Diego to fulfill her degree in the fall. Maddy is an aspiring diplomat.

DANIELLE (DANI) ETIEL is a Biochemistry major. She is a scholastic assistant, member of STEM Outreach club, marketing coordinator of the Chemistry Biochemistry club and is involved in undergraduate research.

She plans to pursue an MD-PhD and work in the field of regenerative medicine and reconstructive surgery. Danielle is from Las Vegas, Nevada.

KAITLIN FALK is an International Relations major and Art History minor.

She is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Society and a current Torero Tour Guide on USD's campus. An active community member, she regularly volunteers with Jewish Family Services to help provide resources to recently immigrated families. Kaitlin is a student enrolled in the Master of Arts in International Relations Combined Degree Program and plans to pursue a career in government service following completion of her BA and MA. Kaitlin is originally from Yakima, Washington.

MADISON GARCIA is a biology major with a minor in biomedical ethics.

She is a resident assistant, a camp counselor for the high school running camp Runner’s Workshop, a notetaker for her Cancer Biology course, and a Biology tutor. She was also an Ole Team member her sophomore year. She plans on pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant in the neonatal unit postgraduation. Madison is from Long Beach, California.

SARAH HAETZEL is a Computer Science and Business Economics double major. She serves as the Secretary for the Association for Computing Machinery Club, was an Industry Scholar in the School of Engineering, is a member of IEEE Eta Kappa Nu and a member of the Society for Women Engineers. In the future, she hopes to attend graduate school to pursue a Masters in Computer Science and then begin a career in software engineering. This summer, she will be working as a software engineering intern for Disney Streaming Services. Sarah is originally from Germany.

RACHEL HUBKA is a Behavioral Neuroscience major with a double minor in Chemistry and Sociology. Within the USD community, she is a part of the Honors Program, USD Swim and Dive Team, and serves currently as the facilitating scholastic assistant for the Collaborate Living Learning Community. After finishing her undergraduate degree, Rachel aspires to attend medical school and become a pulmonologist. She is passionate about social justice, and hopes to better the medical field by using a sociological perspective. Rachel is from Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

KOBE HUYNH is a Psychology major and Communication Studies minor from Sacramento, California. He currently serves as the Torero Program Chair for the Associated Student Government. He is involved in psychological research on campus in Dr. Adriana Molitor-Siegl’s Toddler Development Lab. He plans to attend graduate school and obtain his PhD in Clinical Psychology and become a child psychologist in the future.

ELIZABETH KAVANAUGH is an Accounting Major at USD from Albany, New York. She has served the USD community as a Torero Tour Guide, a member of the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Society, and was a PreOrientation leader for University Ministry. This summer, Elizabeth plans to intern with Deloitte Audit and further her education by pursuing a Master’s of Accountancy (MACC). Through Mortar Board, USD and working with Deloitte, she looks forward to giving back to the community and helping people most in need.

CARLA KELLINY is a behavioral neuroscience major with minors in chemistry and business administration. She serves as a Pre-Health Peer Mentor, Pre-dental club executive member, Organic Chemistry Teacher’s Assistant, and an executive member for medical brigades. She is currently studying abroad on Semester at Sea where she started a club of random acts of kindness around the world. She plans to attend dental school after graduation and later pursue a career as an orthodontist. Carla is from Carlsbad, California.

ISABELA KHALAF is a finance major with a minor in film studies. She was vice president of Amanec, a NGO organization in Monterrey, Mexico, where she helped kids with different diseases. She was also a founder of a film club in Mexico and a counselor in a boarding school called Le Chatelard in Les Avants, Switzerland. She wants to intern for a finance company this summer and plans on completing a master’s degree in Computer Science. She likes taking pictures and painting in her free time. Isabela is from Monterrey, Mexico.

JASPER LEM is a Finance major with a minor in Chemistry. He serves as the academic chair for the professional business fraternity, Phi Chi Theta.

He previously served as a Potential New Member Education team member where he taught basic professionalism skills. Jasper is an active member of the Filipino Ugnayan Student Organization. Currently, he plans to attend graduate school to refine his finance skills. Jasper is from Torrance,

SHIARA MATEO is a double major in Sociology and Political Science from Broomfield, Colorado. She is part of clubs such as FUSO (Filipino Ugnayan Student Organization), Phi Alpha Delta (Pre-Law Fraternity), and the Humanitarian Club. Currently she will be working on a project during the summer under the Urgent Challenges Collective. In the future, she plans to attend law school in hopes to pursue a career in humanitarian law or to do legal work for a non-profit.

KAYLEY NORMAN is pursuing a dual degree in Marketing and Communication Studies. She is a proud member of Lambda Pi Eta and Beta Gamma Sigma. When she can, she enjoys volunteering her time with a nonprofit theatre organization from her hometown called Troll Players and works as their social media coordinator. She ultimately wants to go into entertainment publicity and is honored to be a part of Mortar Board once again. Kayley is from Los Angeles, California.

VITA OLSON is a Biology and Finance major with a minor in Spanish. She serves as a volunteer for science outreach projects with the USD STEM Outreach club and with science nature camps for elementary students. She is the Vice President of the Honors Student Board and was a member of the OLE Team, supporting student orientation. She is currently a student researcher in the department of biology, studying insect evolution and ecology, and plans on pursuing a career in the biosciences or health. Vita is from Sequim, Washington.

SOFIA PANTIS is a Behavioral Neuroscience major with minors in Chemistry and Biomedical Ethics. She serves as the Student Representative and Philanthropy Chair of the Honors Student Board, the community outreach director of the Make-A-Wish Club, and is a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honor Society. Sofia has a passion for life sciences and biotechnology, as reflected by her internship with Intercept Pharmaceuticals, and thus plans on pursuing a career in either medicine or biomedical research. Sofia is from Sacramento, California.

MARA PERUZZI is a Visual Arts and Psychology major with a minor in Italian. Currently, while abroad at John Cabot University in Rome, she is an active leader at a local community service center (Vo.Re.Co.), serving meals to people in need. Also, she is an English conversation leader at the Casa Internazionale delle Donne, helping adult Italian students develop their English skills. Back in San Diego, she is an Italian tutor for USD students, and she is rising to the President position on the Club Women’s volleyball team.

She is interested in fostering creativity and critical thinking through art, especially in early education. She is considering attending graduate school in Visual/Graphic Design in Italy.

Mara is from Santa Cruz, California.

NINA REAMER is an Honors Program student with a major in International Business and a minor in French. On campus, she is a member of Delta Sigma Pi, Student International Business Council, and the Alcalá Club. She is also an academic tutor, an undergraduate researcher in supply chain management, as well as a prior Scholastic Assistant. Nina hopes to attend law school in California after graduation to pursue a Business-Law degree with a focus in sustainability and entrepreneurship. Nina is from St. Paul, Minnesota.

ELY REDOBLE is a Behavioral Neuroscience major with minors in Biology and Chemistry. She was a scholastic assistant and currently serves as a mentor for Student Support Services and as a peer-mentor for the prehealth program. She is also on the executive board for People of the Islands and Filipino Ugnayan Student Organization at USD. She is a volunteer at the Queen's Medical Center and a member of the STEM Outreach Club.

She will be shadowing during the summer and plans to pursue a career in optometry. Ely is from Honolulu, Hawaii.

SABRINA RICHARDS is a political science major with a philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE) minor and a law and ethics minor. She is currently an intern for Congressman Darrell Issa, a member of and an intern for the Honors Program, a lector at Founder's Chapel and a hostess at La Gran Terraza. She plans to attend law school post-graduation and pursue a career in the American government. Sabrina is from Las Vegas, Nevada.

LAINE SAKAI is an environmental and oceans science major with a concentration in environmental science and a minor in policy, philosophy, and economics. She is passionate about volunteering with the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Oahu. She is a part of the Association of Environmental Professionals and works as a teaching assistant in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. She has examined various applications of intellectual property rights in the field of sustainable technology and analyzed case studies throughout Oceania pertaining to climate relocation and several theories of burden sharing. She plans to earn a Master’s degree in environmental policy or sustainability management and work as an environmental consultant.

ALYSSA SANCHEZ is a Psychology major with a minor in Business Administration. She is a member of the Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience Club as well as the USD Artists Society. She plans to become a peer counselor here at USD, and pursue a graduate degree in clinical psychology. Alyssa is from Las Vegas, Nevada.

MIA SHAEFFER is a Behavioral Neuroscience major with a minor in Spanish. She is a member of USD’s Swim and Dive team and an Honors student. She has received First Honors on the Dean’s List multiple times.

She has served as a scholastic assistant, volunteered as a coach for the Special Olympics, and worked as a camp counselor. Currently, she assists with research in the Gender Roles and Stereotypes Lab. Mia is from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

MADELINE SIT (MADDIE) is an Environmental Studies and Sociology major. She is spending her junior spring semester abroad in Costa Rica studying sustainable development and ecology. Prior to going abroad, she was the Alpha Delta Pi Director of Inclusion and Panhellenic Vice President of Philanthropy and Service at USD. This fall, Maddie will resume her role as an Outdoor Adventures guide and office staff member.

She is also the secretary of Students Working Against Trafficking club. After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in public health, environmental management, or climate policy. Maddie is from Summit, New Jersey.

SAMANTHA STELTER is an Environmental Science major and a Visual Arts minor. She is a guide for Outdoor Adventures, a technician with the ITS Help Desk, and was a tutor for elementary school children. She wants to be a conservation scientist. She is currently researching an invasive bryozoan in Mission Bay and plans to continue research during graduate school after graduation. Samantha is from Simi Valley, California.

ARIANNA THALHEIMER is a Liberal Studies major with a concentration in Communication Studies and a minor in Spanish. She serves as the executive president of the Liberal Studies Leadership Board. She also has volunteered as a Spanish tutor at the Language Tutoring Center and a Spanish Writing Consultant at the Spanish Writing Center at USD. She plans to pursue a Masters of Education degree after graduation and obtain a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Special Education Teaching Credential from SOLES. Arianna is from San Diego, California.

IDANIA TORRES is an International Business and European Management double bachelor degree student with French and Marketing minors. She was a mentor for Student Support Services, a University Ministry Scholar, and served on the E- board for French and Francophone Studies Club.

After graduation, she hopes to work for a company where she will have the ability to travel and increase her international experience. Idania is from

MARCOS VARGAS is an Accounting major with a minor in Information Technology Management. He is a member of the Honors Program and Honors Club at USD. He has served as a mentor for the Honors Circle Mentorship Program, is a member of the philanthropy and communication teams for the Honors Club, and will take on the position of Honors Club Coordinator in the upcoming school year. Marcos is also a University Ministry Scholar and a member of USD Club Cross Country. He plans to intern with Deloitte this summer as a Discovery Tax Intern, graduate from USD with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Accounting, and pursue a career in public accounting. Marcos is from Pasadena, California.

AIDAN JACOBS WALKER is a Biology major with a minor in Business Entrepreneurship. He works at USDtv, where he gets to express his love of sports as the Lead Sports Segment Producer. He plans to pursue a career in the health sciences or federal law enforcement. Aidan is from Berkeley, California.

CELINE YACOUB is an Industrial and Systems Engineering major with a concentration in Sustainability. She serves as a commuter assistant, Torero ambassador, and is also part of USD’s Honors Program. She hopes to secure an internship for the summer that will allow her to further her career aspirations and provide her hands-on experience within her field. She plans on pursuing a career in project management or as an operations analyst.
