/ ABOUT US The Maker Space is a cutting-edge facility, that provides access to digital fabrication and additive manufacturing tools. It houses a workshop with industrialgrade machinery akin to those on factory floors, facilitating testing and prototyping concepts. Supported by Morson Group, we champion STEM skills to help cultivate practical digital fabrication skills, fostering innovation and production skills both in curriculum and for research projects.
/ GOOD NEWS STORY... Maker Space Team Testing New BAMBU 3D Printer Technology! Employing our latest Bambu 3D Printer, the Maker Space Team crafted a full-scale Storm Trooper Helmet—an iconic component of the Star Wars Storm Trooper ensemble! Equipped with an automatic filament changer, the Bambu 3D printer can produce prints in an array of colours. The helmet has proven to be a standout feature at Open Days, while also spotlighting the cutting-edge technologies accessible to our students and staff!

/ Go Beyond Women in STEM Celebration / Wednesday 6th of March, 2024 All SEE female students at every study level are invited! On the afternoon on Wednesday 6th of March 2024, we will host our first Go Beyond Women in STEM Celebration. This event marks an extension of the Go Beyond mentoring programme, now in its 4th year. The Maker Space team is deeply committed to empowering and championing women in STEM and facilitate networking opportunities with industry professionals, coaching, and mentoring workshops tailored to our female students. Go Beyond offers year-round activities designed to develop skills, forge industry connections, build confidence, and cultivate a supportive STEM community for our students on campus. We have an exciting line-up of speakers ready to inspire and celebrate with us. Students can meet award-winning female voices like Dr. Shini Somara and our Alumni star, Melissa Ahmed CEng, who will be sharing their stories on making a difference, how to develop superpowers for future careers, and gaining practical insights on securing work experience. All SEE female students at every level of study are invited to attend. Let's celebrate our diversity, embrace our differences, and highlight the importance of Women in STEM at Salford.
