In order to support high-achieving students in their Salford study experience, we have awarded more than ÂŁ5 million in scholarships and bursaries over the last five years alone. Our international graduates are now successfully working across the world, contributing to their communities and applying the knowledge and experience gained during their time at the university to make a positive impact.

For September 2018 intakes and beyond, the university is proud to launch a new range of scholarships aimed at supporting international students who are committed to pursuing their studies at the University of Salford, and will benefit from a UK education.

SALFORD MBA INTERNATIONAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS The Salford MBA is our flagship programme, accredited by the AMBA, the Association of MBAs (AMBA), and is aimed at ambitious business executives looking to step up their career. Our MBA Scholarship attracts candidates with strong qualifications and work experience, and the potential to be future business leaders.

For September 2018, the Salford Business School is offering up to 20 Salford MBA scholarships.

GREAT CHINA SCHOLARSHIP

Our work with China includes providing a high quality, enterprising and supportive environment to high achieving students from the region.

As part of this commitment and in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the university will be offering four scholarships to Chinese students applying for selected courses in the areas of Business (All MSc programmes), Arts and Media (MA Music and MA Media Production: Post-Production for TV, MA Media Production: Children’s TV Production, MA Media Production: TV Drama Production, MA Media Production: TV Documentary Production, MA Media Production: Animation) and the Built Environment (MArch Architecture).

CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS Chevening is the UK Government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. The University of Salford is proud to support Chevening, through the general programme and as a premier partner.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to applicants to postgraduate taught with: a degree of a good standard; work experience of at least two years; a high standard of English language; leadership and networking skills; commitment to work in your home country for at least two years after completing your master’s degree For further information go to chevening.org. SALFORD – NCUK SCHOLARSHIPS We are an owner-member of the Northern Consortium of UK universities (NCUK). NCUK has been delivering pathway programmes leading to degrees at its member universities for almost 25 years.

To support students progressing from an NCUK programme, the University of Salford offers a number of high value scholarships for outstanding applicants to undergraduate or postgraduate taught degrees.

2. NCUK-Salford Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship for applicants who have studied the NCUK Pre Masters Programme (PMP) £5,000.

COMMONWEALTH SHARED SCHOLARSHIPS Commonwealth Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development.

These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and offered through the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC). The University of Salford is proud to support the Commonwealth Scholarships scheme, through a part funding agreement.

VALUE OF AWARD: 100% tuition fee, monthly stipend, return airfares, and other allowances (as applicable)

NUMBER OF AWARDS: Around 800 per year (across all institutions), including scholarships for master’s, PhD and split-site (PhD) study

With a fund of up to ÂŁ100,000, the Salford International Excellence Award, is a new scholarship programme to actively support a wide range of talented, inspiring and creative international students who aim to be the leaders of the future.

Based on your submitted application, and judged through the International Scholarships Committee, Salford International Excellence Awards begin at £1,000 and you could be awarded up to £5,000 as a discount from the tuition fee.

LOYALTY DISCOUNT AND EARLY PAYMENT DISCOUNTS

LOYALTY DISCOUNT FOR SALFORD ALUMNI If you complete an eligible programme of study at Salford, you will be entitled to a discount of 20% off your fees if you take another programme with us.

This bursary is available if you take an undergraduate (bachelor’s) course at Salford and decide to move onto a postgraduate taught (master’s) programme of study; or if you have completed a postgraduate taught master’s and are accepted onto a postgraduate research (PhD) programme.

The loyalty discount is available for eligible programmes that are full-time and where applicants are self-funding students. The loyalty discount is available for all students, whether Home, EU or International, for fee purposes.

Please note, you may apply for the loyalty discount if you have already been awarded a scholarship, however, in line with the International Scholarship terms and conditions, you can receive one scholarship and this will be the one of the highest value and of most benefit to you.

Loyalty discount -20% For Salford alumni who have graduated from an undergraduate bachelor’s programme and are applying to a postgraduate taught master’s. The undergraduate programme may have been studied at the University of Salford, Salford, Greater Manchester, or delivered through one of our global partners.

Early payment discount If you pay your fees in full, before or on enrolment, you can receive a prompt payment discount of 3%. This is applied on the net fee remaining after any scholarship has been applied.
