At the University of Salford, no ambition is too big. If you’ve got a business idea of your own, our experienced advisors can help bring it to life through mentoring, business start-up training and funding awards.

So for any students that have a brilliant business idea but are unsure of the next steps, or for those thinking of going freelance, we can now help turn ideas into reality and provide support through all the vital steps of setting up in business.

With free hot-desking office space in the heart of Peel Park campus, you will have access to a networking lounge where you can grab a coffee and make those all important business connections.

The Launch incubator also offers a wide range of support to make the venture of creating a business less daunting. In partnership with the Business Growth Hub we offer a six month support programme including workshops on specific aspects of building a business, as well as mentorship from experienced professionals and subject specific drop in sessions, delivered by staff from the Salford Business School. You will also have access to grants for vital start-up essentials such as software, insurances, licences, basic equipment, training or attendance at trade fairs.

ANUARA

Anuara Nessa is one of our successful graduates that has received support from Launch, after achieving her BA (Hons) in Fashion Design and MSc in International Business here at Salford. Whilst here, she worked as an intern for Masumi Headwear, founded by honorary industry fellow Ali Nowroozi. Her work at the company led her to be inspired to create her own clothing line under the name of Anuara Design. Anuara Design is a luxury fashion brand with a social cause, which offers a bespoke service as well as exclusive seasonal collections. After receiving supporting from Launch, Anuara has recently launched her first collection online. She has also designed a collection in collaboration with Masumi, using the headwear as an inspiration for her work. She created full outfits to pair with the headwear in order to empower women living with hair loss and breaking the stigma around this. “Launch @SalfordUni was a great learning environment where I have met new people and developed my business knowledge from a different perspective. I’m very thankful for the support I gained from Launch and mentorship from Ali Nowroozi which has inspired me to pursue my goals with dedication, sincerity and trust in business.”
