WILLIS CENTER Willis Center is home to College of Arts & Sciences Admissions, Graduate and Professional Enrollment, and Student Financial Services.

HALL OF LETTERS

The Hall of Letters is home to many academic programs, including: English, Creative Writing, Political Science, Public Policy, and Modern Languages. Students have access to a variety of collaborative learning spaces, such as the Browsing Room and the Proudian Room.

Professors’ offices and classrooms are across the hall from one another, fostering strong student-faculty relationships.

ALUMNI GREEK THEATRE

The Alumni Greek Theatre was built in 1927 and is used for commencement; student events such as Fall Fest; and concerts, which have included well-known bands such as Girl Talk, AJR, Black Eyed Peas, Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, and more.

ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

The Administration Building, one of the most iconic spots on campus, was built in 1909 and overlooks the beautiful lawns and trees of the University Quad and Memorial Chapel, with the San Bernardino mountains rising in the background. This building is home to many administrative offices, such as the Office of the President and the Office of the Registrar.

DUKE HALL

Duke Hall houses Accounting, Business Administration, Management, and Global Business, as well as Economics and Financial Economics.

Our students graduate and work in non-profits, corporations, and government agencies, as well as pursue advanced degrees in a number of disciplines including law, finance, business, and government. Duke Hall also houses our Study Away office. Redlands offer over 80 study away locations during a semester or our unique May Term.

THE JOHNSTON COMPLEX

The Johnston Center for Integrative Studies is home to a livinglearning program for students who want to design their own education. Here, they find a level of academic freedom and a community interested in their ideas. About 200 talented and intellectually curious Johnston students live and learn together in a complex that includes two residence halls— Bekins and Bekins-Holt, faculty offices, a coffee house, classrooms, and community spaces.

AREAS OF INTEREST ATHLETICS COMPLEX & CURRIER GYMNASIUM U of R’s 21 teams compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III level in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). The Bulldogs are consistently ranked among the best in their league and at the national level. Athletic facilities are open to all students and include a fitness center, the Thompson Aquatic Center, Ted Runner Stadium, and many indoor and outdoor fields, tracks, and courts.

STAUFFER SCIENCE COMPLEX Science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields at Redlands are interactive and interdisciplinary. The Stauffer Science Complex boasts state-of-the-art facilities—from laboratories to a deck for astronomical observation—in Appleton, Hedco, Gregory, and Lewis Halls. The complex is active throughout the school year and summer, when outstanding students are selected to participate in faculty-directed research that gives them intensive lab or field experience.

WATCHORN HALL

Watchorn Hall is home to California’s second oldest nationally accredited Conservatory of Music.

With studio teachers who are among the finest musicians in Southern California, we offer a Bachelor of Music, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Music.

Students with interdisciplinary interests are welcomed. Each year, the School of Performing Arts presents more than 200 performances, including collaborations with the Department of Theatre and Dance.

MEMORIAL CHAPEL

The Memorial Chapel is one of the most recognized buildings on campus and has a long tradition of serving as a campus gathering space.

The Chapel serves as the venue for the annual Feast of Lights, Redlands Symphony Orchestra performances, and guest lectures by prominent speakers who have included activist Dolores Huerta, biologist Jane Goodall, award-winning journalist James Fallows, and equal rights advocate Laverne Cox.

THE ARMACOST LIBRARY

The Armacost Library is about self-directed learning. The library’s ground floor includes the Jones Computer Center, as well as rooms for collaboration and learning. The remaining three floors include more than 600,000 books, scores, DVDs, and other material.

Armacost Library houses Student Employment, Office of Career and Professional Development,

Academic Success and Disability Services, Counseling Center, ResNet, Fletcher Jones Foundation Innovation Center, Bulldog Market and the newly renovated Makerspace—a space with 3D printers, virtual and augmented reality headsets, and other technologies that encourage students to innovate and create.

Ted Runner Stadium

RESIDENCE HALLS The University of Redlands is a residential campus, and all students are required to live on-campus.

Students choose from a variety of living environments. Each of the 14 residence halls and 3 student apartments provide a sense of community with the opportunity to make lifelong friendships in a welcoming, inclusive environment. In addition, each building is staffed with Community Assistants and a Community Director to ensure the community feels safe, allowing students to explore their individuality and learn and grow alongside each other. Students become part of something much larger than themselves—the Redlands Bulldog family.

CENTER FOR THE ARTS The Center for the Arts provides space for creative work. Art majors and non-majors alike utilize the Gold LEED-certified Ann Peppers Hall for painting, graphic design, photography, and more. The Department of Theatre and Dance makes their home in the Glenn Wallichs Theatre and Frederick Lowe Black Box Theatre, where students can attend or take part in plays, musicals, and dance performances.

TRUESDAIL CENTER The Truesdail Center hosts the Communication Sciences and Disorders academic program. In addition to taking classes, students gain clinical experience with clients. Undergraduate and graduate students serve about 75 patients each week under faculty supervision.

ALUMNI HOUSE The Office of Alumni & Community Relations brings together professors, staff, students, and alumni with special events at the Alumni House.

The venue is also available to the local community to rent for occasions such as weddings.

HUNSAKER UNIVERSITY CENTER

Lined with maroon banners emblazoned with the U of R’s Och Tamale chant, Hunsaker University Center is the hub of campus life.

In addition to the main dining hall, Irvine Commons, it contains the Den Café, bookstore, student post office, and meeting spaces for student organizations.

It is also home to the Office of Campus Diversity and Inclusion (CDI), which seeks to create spaces where students can be their whole selves. CDI houses the Multicultural Center, Pride Center, Gender Justice Center, and Native Student Programs.
