• Graduated from high school less than five years ago.
• Meet GPA requirements for completed, transferable college credits
• Meet UNG requirements for high school applicants on GPA, test scores and freshman index.
Bachelor’s Applicant GPA Requirements
• Meet GPA requirements for completed, transferable college credits.
Competitive applicants should have at least a 2.5 overall GPA on transferable college credit.
If you graduated from high school more than five years ago and are transferring less than 30 credit hours, you should apply as a non-traditional adult student.

Associate Applicant GPA Requirements A minimum 2.0 transferable GPA.
Apply for transfer admission if you meet any of these criteria: • Have already graduated from high school. • Have taken a transferable college course. • Have not previously earned a bachelor’s degree. • Are pursuing a second bachelor’s degree.
Veterans resource centers at the Gainesville and Dahlonega campuses offer computer stations, free printing, study materials, and more. Student veteran organizations connect you with fellow veterans on campus. UNG’s Green Zone program prepares campus professionals trained to support our veteran students.

Your Place to NEST
We will complete an official credit evaluation as part of the transfer admission process. You can use our transfer equivalency tool at go.ung. edu/transfercredit to get an idea of what previously completed credits will transfer. You can also use the credit transfer tool at gatracs.org to build out your course history to understand what courses completed at Georgia-based colleges are transfer-eligible.
The Nighthawk Engagement & Student Transitions (NEST) office will help you make a smooth transition to UNG. Your transfer coach will guide you through the admission process and answer questions about everything from credit evaluation to financial aid, connect you to whatever campus resources you may need, and get you registered for our required Transfer Student Orientation. Transfer Student Resources
Even though you already have some college experience under your belt, it still takes time to get your bearings in a new school. We’re here to help you along your path to graduation with a wide variety of resources. • Transfer Student Orientation will introduce you to UNG and connect you with resources to help you thrive as a New Nighthawk. • An Academic Success Coach will help you refine your goals and develop strategies to meet them. • An Academic Advisor helps plan your program of study and chart your progress. • Career Services offers job search strategies and online career tools to explore your strengths and how they align with your career interests. • Programming such as Family Day, Nighthawk Talks streaming series and the Parent & Family Association all help transfer students engage their families as partners in their educational journey.
Did You Know? UNG is home to the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students. The Institute seeks to influence change and drive continuous improvements in the transfer student experience through education, research and advocacy.
