Your course As communications technology gets ever more advanced, the demand for new devices and solutions grows day by day. This course is designed to help you build your skills to start a fulfilling career.

We’ll give you the chance to gain a broad overview of electronic engineering, as well as specialist skills in communications as the course progresses. We’ll also take a wider view to explore other areas of electrical, electronic and computer systems engineering.

The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council. Once you graduate, you could become registered as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). The course could also lead on to you gaining Chartered Engineer (CEng) status following further study.

If you achieve a yearly average grade of 60% or more during your first two years, there is a chance to transfer to the Electronic Engineering MEng integrated Master’s course.

Top-up Option This course is a one year course, designed for people who have already spent two years studying a related subject at university or higher education level. For instance, you might already have an HND in Electronic and Communication Engineering. If you’re interested not just in technology, but also in how that technology is managed and applied, then this course could be for you.

The course covers a mix of advanced technology and technology management modules. We’ll also encourage you to look at technology within the wider business, commercial and legal context.

Offers will be made in the region of BBB-BBC inc. Maths A Level and one other Science or Technology subject*/DDM-DMM in Engineering** or Science or Technology plus Maths A Level/120-112***

*Science and Technology subjects accepted: Electronics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Further Mathematics, Mechanics, Dynamics, General Engineering. **Engineering subjects accepted: Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering. ***UCAS points must be made up of Science and Technology subjects at A Level and Engineering subject at BTEC as listed above.

HND at Merit or equivalent in a related Science or Technology subject/Foundation Degree in a related Science or Technology subject/Completion of two years of a Degree in a related Science or Technology subject.

Electronic and Communication Engineering BEng(Hons) is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and fully meets the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporate Engineer and partly meets the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
