YOUR APPLICATION
At the University of Exeter, we believe potential can look different for everyone. Whatever your background or story, we’ll support you to succeed and make your mark here. Our admissions approach looks beyond grades to see the whole person – your effort, context and ambition.
Streatham Campus, Exeter
Typical offers
Each course page lists our typical offer and any specific entry criteria. These are a guide, not a barrier – if you show exceptional potential, we may still make you an offer even if your grades fall just below.
Recognising additional achievement
We welcome the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and Core Maths as excellent preparation for university study. Where applicants take either of these qualifications, we may be able to make an alternative offer (eligibility criteria apply*). Alternative offers will state that achieving a grade B in EPQ or Core Maths will guarantee your place if you are one grade below our standard offer, excluding any subjectspecific conditions.
Contextual offers and qualifications
We assess your achievements in the context of your background, offering lower contextual entry requirements where appropriate. We also welcome a wide range of qualifications, from BTECs and T Levels to Access to HE, the
Welsh Baccalaureate, EPQ, Core Maths and Scottish Highers. All our courses are eligible for contextual offers – please check your eligibility here: exetereligibilitychecker.uk
Interviews and personal statements
Most courses don’t require interviews, though some (such as Medicine or Nursing) do. Check your chosen course page on our website to see if an interview is part of the process.
Your academic results matter most, but personal statements can help differentiate candidates with similar achievements. We consider them carefully, recognising that support varies between schools and colleges.
Whatever route you take, we’re here to help you every step of the way – with advice, fairness and understanding at the heart of the process.
