The modern INTO Study Centre is close to everything on campus from the library to the Students’ Guild, so you’ll be part of the University from day one. It’s been designed with you in mind, and it’s where most of your classes during your pathway will take place. If you’re studying an English language course, you’ll study at Duryard House, a traditional building near the INTO student residences.

From the moment you arrive, our Student Services team will help you settle into life in Exeter. Whether you’re opening a bank account, planning a trip or have an academic question, they’re here to help. For students under 18 we offer extra support and there’s even a 24-hour telephone helpline if you need to speak to someone outside of office hours.

You’ll find all the study and social facilities you need on campus, all just a short walk away.

There’s more to campus life than just studying.

You’ll take part in an orientation programme in your first week which will give you the chance to meet other students. Parties, day trips and excursions organised by the Student Services team at the Centre will keep you busy the rest of the year.

To get you started, the Learning Resource Centre has a range of books and study materials, and the science laboratory and multimedia rooms provide opportunities for hands-on learning. You’ll also find plenty of areas in which to study and socialise, including the INTO Café for a coffee or something to eat.

Vibrant and student-friendly, Exeter is a compact city with lots to do. Take a free tour of the city centre to explore the cobbled streets – the inspiration for JK Rowling’s Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books – or the historic Gothic Cathedral and Roman ruins. The attractive Quayside is a popular destination with beautiful architecture, and is the ideal place to browse in the shops, take a boat trip or find something good to eat.

The city’s large student population and many festivals ensure a buzzing atmosphere. You’ll be kept busy with theatre, cinema and music bringing something different to Exeter every night. Follow big-name acts at the Exeter Phoenix, watch art-house cinema at the Picturehouse or catch up with friends in the Victoria Inn. During the day, check out the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and modern art at Spacex.

You’ll be spoilt with a selection of local produce at the weekly Farmers’ Market and you’ll also find restaurants offering international cuisine. Try Tyepyedong for noodles, Al-Farid (Moroccan) and Afriteo (Caribbean). And don’t forget to have a traditional cream tea in the Cathedral Café. There’s even an annual food festival where you can try out the best food the region offers.

The city centre and the modern Princesshay shopping centre are home to big-brand stores and smaller boutiques. Spend some time exploring the fashionable West Quarter, full of independent stores and vintage shops.

Gandy Street, lined with cute gift shops and jewellers, offers something a bit different.

Flexible Combined Honours If you hold an offer to start a degree at the University of Exeter in September 2018, our Pre-sessional English course will provide you with intensive preparation in academic English. You’ll focus on content-specific grammar, style and structure, and have the opportunity to practise speaking English on topics related to your degree programme.

If you want to improve your English language skills for use in everyday situations, our General English course, with various start dates and flexible course lengths, will be perfect for you. Suitable for students of all levels, you’ll improve your general language proficiency in listening, speaking, vocabulary, reading, writing and grammar.

With 36 subjects and over 1,500 degree combinations, Flexible Combined Honours allows you to combine two subjects at undergraduate degree level following your International Foundation or International Year One. Progression requirements are specific to each combination and agreed on a case-by-case basis. Previous applications

by INTO students have received a conditional offer, however, this is not guaranteed.

Placement options Most degrees are available with a Work Placement or Study Abroad option in the third year. A Work Placement allows you to gain hands-on experience at an organisation in the UK or abroad, while Study Abroad offers an opportunity to spend a year studying at one of the University’s partners around the world. University Progression Scholarships

We’ve awarded scholarships in subjects including: Business, Engineering and Humanities, available for all International Foundation and International Year One pathways.

• You could be eligible if you have achieved good grades in your studies and have an unconditional offer.

Airport pickup

Flight details including arrival date and flight number should be emailed to ukarrival.details@intoglobal.com as soon as possible. All under 18 students must either book an INTO airport pickup or provide evidence of alternative arrangements.
