The One Planet MBA Global Talent Book 2017
Foreword Welcome to our Class of 2017, a special group of ambitious, talented, creative and collaborative professionals equipped with the desire to advance their career and contribute creative business intelligence. Throughout the year they have not only developed an understanding of the ways through which the global challenges that we face impact on business models and strategies, but they’ve also evidenced critical management and leadership skills while engaging and working closely with our expert faculty and business leaders for organisational impact.
Our Class of 2017 MBA participants have come to Exeter from more than 20 countries around the world. They offer an exceptional range of business and management skills, together with a ‘worldly’ outlook. I would like to recommend them to you, and I hope you will find many opportunities to engage and work with them.

The One Planet MBA tackles global business challenges The world we live in is increasingly complex, risky, volatile and interconnected. More than ever, successful business leaders are those who understand the interconnections of our economies and societies and the ways through which global economic, societal, financial, environmental and technological challenges disrupt established businesses and strategies. The One Planet MBA is at the forefront of the circular economy and sustainable business. Our participants graduate with a strong business acumen and the critical, analytical and leadership skills that are required to work and lead collaboratively. They are uniquely placed to appreciate how understanding the fundamentals of the world we live in can lead to innovation and business transformation.
Academically rigorous, yet experiential in nature The One Planet MBA is a partnership between the University of Exeter Business School, leading FTSE 100 companies, NGOs and other progressive organisations. Our partners are leaders in their field, yet at the forefront of change. They co-deliver the programme along with our expert faculty and set real-life business challenges. Award winning, accredited and world leading MBA Our Full Time and Executive One Planet MBA programmes were selected for in-depth review by the EQUIS re-accreditation panel of experts earlier this year. The Business School successfully secured re-accreditation for a period of five years. Both programmes are also accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), and ranked among the best in the world by CEO Magazine. The One Planet MBA is offered at the University of Exeter, a global leading and UK Top 10 Russell group University.

How we develop our global talent Working in a multinational cohort alongside academic faculty, business leaders and MBA alumni, our participants have access to inspiring conversations, challenging ideas, and innovative thinking. This vibrant learning environment provides the stimulus and support needed to prepare them for the impact that they will make in their future employment. The One Planet MBA places personal transformation at its heart, supporting participants to develop the skills and mind-set needed to lead within an uncertain global environment. The existing knowledge, skills, professional experience and personal attributes of our participants forms the focus of ongoing personal
reflection which results in an enhanced self-awareness. This stronger sense of “self” coupled with new knowledge gained from across their programme equips aspiring leaders with the confidence and tenacity to apply their learning to real world issues. By working with our leading partners on real business challenges, our participants have developed the essential communication, collaboration, and creative-thinking skills needed to bring value to their consultancy projects. Each participant is unique. What they share is a deep sense of purpose in their work, creating positive impact and creating change – for good.
