The Walk to Autzen

takes spirited game day fans over the Willamette River and through the woods from main campus to Autzen Stadium.

The Duck

is one of the most recognized and iconic mascots in the nation. The Duck rides on a motorcycle to open each game, does pushup challenges, dances, and brings laughter to the whole crowd.

The Fight Song

lyrics were written by a UO journalism student. The UO marching band plays “Mighty Oregon” after every touchdown.

“It Never Rains in Autzen Stadium”

was coined by Autzen Stadium’s longtime announcer, Don Essig. The phrase has nothing to do with the weather but reflects the idea that the fans’ energy can never be rained on.

Throwing the O

was invented by former band director Steven Paul. It was popularized by Joey Harrington after beating the Beavers in 2001, as a way to tell the band to play “Mighty Oregon” over the noise of the Autzen crowd.

“Shout!”

the uno cial tune of Duck football, is played between the 3rd and 4th quarters to bring more energy to the crowd. The song was featured in the 1978 movie Animal House which was filmed at the University of Oregon.
