It’s amazing to think that as you gear up to light
sparklers on New Year’s Eve, someone a hundred
years ago was doing exactly the same.
Something as simple as that is just a tradition
that had to have begun at some point in history.
The same way your family might’ve decided one
year that you’ll go camping for Christmas, and it’s
become tradition every year to do the same.
Every person has their own traditions. These
could be old or new, tied to a group of friends,
cultural practices, family history or even your own
solo customs. They’re things that might’ve been
passed down through generations, or things that
you’re just starting now and will pass on to the
people that come after you. We all have them,
and they’re all special in their own way.
I like to think that traditions are stories that can
tell us more about the people who came before
us, and that making your own traditions is just as
important as looking back upon old ones.
