SHIIP stands for the Senior Health Insurance Information Program. This program was made to help community members learn more about Medicare and become aware of their eligibility for financial assistance or benefits. SHIIP services are free and confidential.
WHO CAN UTILIZE SHIIP?
SHIIP can be utilized by Iowans who are turning 65 and want to begin on Medicare or someone who wants to understand more about their current benefits. SHIIP volunteers can help seniors find the most affordable options!
WHAT IS MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT?
This is the time to re-evaluate your current prescription drugs plans to ensure you are still using the most affordable plan for you! A SHIIP volunteer is trained to help you review your coverage and complete a plan comparison with you.
WHEN IS MEDICARE OPEN
The 2023 Medicare Open Enrollment period is from October 15 - December 7, 2023.
