December 2023
Dear friend, The holiday season is upon us. Your days and weekends are probably starting to fill up with seasonal celebrations. Cookie exchanges, community events and festive gatherings with your family and friends…your calendar is full of meaningful events to get in the holiday spirit and connect with your loved ones. It’s these moments that make lasting memories. During this time of year, patients receiving end-of-life-care want to make the most of the time they have left with their family and friends. You can make final wishes come true. When Ted was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma, he never expected to think about receiving hospice care. A few days after Ted’s prognosis, his family received news his father was also diagnosed with terminal cancer. Together, they received end-of-life-care across the hall from each other at Taylor House Hospice. “Without Taylor House Hospice, I am not sure what we would have done,” says Ted. “It was nice to have both of my father and me here for our family. It was especially nice for me to be able to spend my dad’s last days by his side.” You help provide special moments for patients and their families. While at Taylor House, Ted turned 55-years-old. With the help of his care team, Ted had a guest list of more than 50 of his favorite people. Together they celebrated with a grill out and birthday party. “Providing these services and delivering exceptional care makes a big difference,” says Ted. “Thank you to the donors who helped make this possible. I don’t think there are words that describe how much it means when you are in these types of difficult situations.” Your support and generosity are needed now. For Ted and countless other patients and families who need hospice care during the holiday season.
