–danish developed catheters

InPig single packaged catheters ensure high hygiene by artificial insemination. The single packed catheter is inserted into the vagina - about 10 cm, then the plastic bag is pulled back so that the foam plug breaks through the plastic. The catheter is then fully inserted and are thus not in contact with the dirty external part of the vulva. InPig single packed catheters avoid introducing bacteria during the insemination - partly from the stable area and partly from the outer part of the vagina. It is not necessary to wipe each sow with wipers before insemination.

Unitron a/s has been developing what we believe is the ideal catheter for deep insemination. We call it Unitron Deep InPig.

Unitron Deep InPig is equipped with a locking tip for the inner catheter. This means that the inner catheter is kept securely in place during insemination. Unitron Deep InPig is 5 cm longer than traditional catheters, which, in conjunction with deep insemination, makes it safer to inseminate the sow. Additionally, the entire catheter is fed into the sow at once. In this way, the tip remains sterile and the risk of damaging the inner lining of the uterus and contamination of the sperm is minimized. item number: 1011-5090

In the process of reproduction, sperm is one of the essential elements and this means that the sperm should be treated carefully - both while it develops and is still inside the boar and when it is to be used in the subsequent production - and finally when / if it is stored for later use in the AI work.

In this process, the dissolved salts are removed almost 100% and the pores of the membrane are so small that micro-organisms like bacteria and pyrogens cannot penetrate. Stimulus

-a fantastic success

Stimulus is performing an automatic stimulation of sows during insemination. The stimulation is done in two stages –in 2 programs. The first program which is started when Stimulus is turned on will stimulate the sow roughly with some heavy pressures on the back and in the loin area.

This program lasts 60 seconds – and when it ends program 2 is activated automatically.

The other program “soft” stimulates the sow with gentle pressures/pushes in the sow’s groin. It takes only one employee to look after 4 Stimulus – For instance the worker places the first Stimulus on sow no. 1 and activates the stimulating process by pressing the on / off button on

Stimulus. After this the employee places Stimulus no. 2 on sow no. 2 and activates it – and places no. 3 on sow no. 3.

After having mounted the no. 4 Stimulus the first sow will be ready for the actual insemination where the catheter and semen bottle is put in place – the semen bottle – tube or fat pack – can rest in the special holder which is placed at the end of the “antennas” on Stimulus. When sow no. 3 is inseminated the first Stimulus will be ready to “move on” in the row to sow no. 5 etc.

In this way, the insemination may be carried out by just one employee – and thus save valuable time other places in the production.

The moves that Stimulus performs to press and stimulate the sow are made by air pressure and an air pressure pump is mounted on the top of Stimulus. Built-in technology controls the air pressure in the pump.

The electronic is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery which is recharged by a 220V charger that is embedded. This can be plugged into Stimulus on the side of the top. The air pressure is given by a spiral rope which is mounted on the top of Stimulus.

FarrowCam

-the tool for the professional pig farmer to reduce stillborn piglets

FarrowCam is a patented system for automatic monitoring of farrowing sows. The system uses artificial intelligence for automatic birth detection and provides an overview of all farrowings on a smartphone.

A notification is given when long birth intervals are detected. This enables precise and effective obstetric aid using a minimum of working time.

On an average farm in Denmark, 1,8 piglets per litter are stillborn. Trials with FarrowCam show that the system is able to save half of these piglets.

FarrowCam requires no fixed installations and it comes with a universal clamp mount and a smart charging rack. It is simple and fast in use and easy to clean.

FarrowMat

FarrowMat is a robust and energy efficient heat mat developed for use in farrowing crates. Placed behind the sow, it keeps a constant temperature of 40ºC and ensures heat for all piglets during the first critical hours. Uni Pre-FER -growth in the farrowing pen

What is Uni Pre-FER?

SAVE TIME... TRAIN YOUR PIGLETS

Uni Pre-FER contains easily absorbable and digestible energy and iron sources, egg-based immunoglobulins and vitamins. Uni Pre-FER is used as iron supply and growth booster in the farrowing house and training for early feed intake from 10-12 days of age after birth.

Uni Pre-FER is specially developed for automatic allocation. Uni Pre-FER is available in 15 kg bags (enough for about 430 pigs).

Facts about hemoglobin and birth weight

More piglets per sow and lower birth weight is a challenge. During birth the sow produces very limited amounts of iron, and on top of this, piglets must increase their weight dramatically.

An addition of iron and energy in the first 10 days of the newborn pigs’ life may result in a total litter weight gain –especially when combined with early presentation of feed at 10-12 days of age.

Instruction for use

Uni Pre-FER is allocated with the Unitron UniFeeder, that distributes according to the piglets’ age.

Use 500 g Uni Pre-Fer pr. litter in the Unifeeder from the day of farrowing. The Unifeeder will allocate this from day 2-10 automatically.

Change for Unifeed Flour on day 10.

UniFeeder

–feed supply made intelligent

UniFeeder is easy to operate – the feed curve is embedded as a fixed default in relation to the content of the pre-starter mix and compared to a litter size of 14 piglets. At the operation panel the feed manager can move the feeding curve and days, if necessary, to fit a larger or smaller litter size, or increase or decrease the amount of feed.

UniFeeder is provided with a feed box of 2 kg, once filled up – the dosing unit takes care of the rest. UniFeeder allows the operator to focus on other tasks in the farrowing house – and the early and proper allocation of the pre-starter mix ensures the piglet better enzyme training and improved quality at weaning, by providing a stronger pig with better survival and increased growth.

UniFeeder also ensures that the piglets receive the feed they need – neither too little or too much. It assigns always fresh and clean feed, and protect against overdosing and feed waste.

Benefit of using powder and feed

–clever and economically correct initialization of pre-starter mix

It is important that the piglets get high quality pre-starter mix – and it is important that they get it as early as possible. The small stomachs are however delicate and prestarter feeds are expensive – and it is thus essential that the piglets are fed properly –both in terms of what the pig can tolerate and relative to the farmer’s economy. The normal often manual feeding by hand implies for most large loss of feed in the pen.

The sow provides milk several times a day – and the piglets are therefore naturally accustomed to eat a little – but often. The optimal intake of pre-starter feeds will therefore be to emulate the same feeding pattern which the sow offers. So far, supplying that, has been an almost impossible task to achieve with manual feed application and certainly not within ‘normal’ working hours.

Unitron has developed and patented an automatic feeder – UniFeeder, which can assign the pre-starting mix in a pattern that comes very close to what the sow offers. UniFeeder can be set for the piglet’s age and then it will automatically increase the daily allowance as the pig grows. The feeding is by 10 daily rations distributed over the day with a night-time break.

UniGrow

-an effective additive for compound feed

UniGrow is an effective additive for pigs and cattle with a high water binding capacity and contains fast absorbing amino acid and toxin binder.

UniGrow is approved by the EU as a feed additive that has well-documented effect on e.g. Aflatoxins.

UniGrow is a 100% natural product without additives.

UniGrow is added to the feed to contribute to a better stomach / intestinal flora by increasing butyric acid production and preventing high toxin levels.

UniGrow is one of the only feed additives that can attract both positively and negatively charged toxins. This is due to BET surfaces with positive and negative Zeta potential. Once bound and/or exchanged by UniGrow, the toxins will not pass the intestinal wall instead exit with faeces.

UniGrow is active throughout the pH scale 1-11. UniGrow comes as a powder and is used as a feed additive.

UniGrow is particularly suitable for piglets, weaners and calf mixtures where the product contributes to the feed mixture so that the animals are supported during stressful periods such as weaning.

UniGrow does not affect nutrient uptake or digestion.

-a safe tool to perform systematic hoof care and hoof trimming of sows

PiggyTrim operates by letting the sow to go into the box, after which she is hoisted up lying on her stomach with the legs on either side of the longitudinal tubes. The sow calms down when the floor disappears beneath it, and you can work undisturbed with the hoof care.

EASY OPERATION:

The box is operated by two buttons and there is no safety paddles or similar to keep in mind.

WHERE TO PLACE THE PIGGYTRIM:

Placed PiggyTrim convenient in relation to internal logistics.

POSSIBLE FOR INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMIZATION:

As desired, bolt foot or embedding bracket can be supplied. Shall PiggyTrim be placed on a slatted floor, it must be supported at the top, typically by bolting it to a wall or to the rafter structure. Once PiggyTrim is fully raised, you can pass unhindered under it and therefore not in the way on the walking area.

TREATMENT:

The hoof care is done with a grinder with a flap disc attached and a hoof scissors. The treatment takes 5-10 mi-nutes per sow.

Instrument that helps control grinding of the feed.

Particle size profiles for sows should be coarser than for weaners and finishers so as not to adversely affect sows’ gastric health and thereby longevity. Optimum feed utilisation among weaners and finishers is achieved with finely ground feed. Coarse milling should only be considered if pigs start developing gastro-intestinal problems. Gastric ulcers can be diagnosed with your veterinarian. Guidelines for particle size profiles can be used as the basis for determining the optimum particle size profile on each individual farm.
