Volunteer Program Availability
United Way works to build communities of stable households and thriving children. Volunteers are critical to this mission. United Way’s volunteer program connects individuals, corporate teams and community groups to meaningful volunteer work. We help our community find ways to give back year-round through projects that fit their lives and is meaningful to our mission. Please contact your Investor Relations Specialist to discuss opportunities to enhance your workplace campaign through volunteer activities.
Emerging Leaders United
Emerging Leaders United is a group of civic-minded early to mid-level career professionals committed to positive change in the Roanoke region.
Through unique volunteerism and fundraising events, innovative professional development and leadership trainings, and creative networking opportunities, members have the chance to do something larger than themselves while growing professionally.

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
Via GIVE or GET ($100.00 minimum) GIVE, by making a personal contribution through payroll deductions, quarterly payments or in a lump sum. GET, by helping us obtain a financial sponsorship or compatible in-kind donation
VOLUNTEERING
(10 hours minimum) Hours are earned by attending ELU meetings, committee participation, self-reporting, or participation in an organized group event.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
No. We are trying to attract younger members, but will not turn away wiser members.
