SNDU Professional Development: Providing New Offerings

North Dakota United is proud to offer professional development sessions tailored specifically for aspiring educators.

Building a Strong Chapter - Learn how to establish basic structures of a campus chapter, including: how to draft a constitution & bylaws, elect officers, run a meeting, and recruit new members. Participants will also learn how their campus chapter fits in with ND United, the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers.

Degrees Not Debt - Learn about student loans, loan forgiveness options and how to take control of loan repayment options.

Elevating the Profession through

Educator Ethics - This course reviews ethics as defined by the ND Educational Standards and Practices Board. Participants examine various ethical situations along with actual cases that the Board has addressed. Topics include technology dos and don’ts; relationships with students, parents and colleagues; and the dichotomy of a school employee’s life. It includes a method for decision-making.

What’s Your Why - This session will help pre-service educators consider their own personal “mission statement” and focus on what is best for students.
