CONTENT UNITECH Corporate and Academic Partners The Programme The Programme Structure Requirements to graduate from the UNITECH Programme Partner Universities
UNITECH’s Corporate Partners Our Corporate Partners are very interested in engaging with UNITECH students to solve the most pressing challenges in our society and shape a better future. You may engage with the CPs during events or simply by reaching out. These conversations often result not only in an internship, but also in future projects and collaborations that may benefit generations to come.

THE PROGRAMME The UNITECH Programme is an exclusive Leadership Development Programme for talented Master’s students from all STEM disciplines.
Programme Overview UNITECH is a leadership development experience built around your Master’s degree, spanning roughly two years. You start at your own engineering university — one of our Academic Partners in Europe — and, after a series of onboarding sessions that prepare you for the Programme’s official launch, your journey takes you through several different countries beyond your own. Each of the three coached Leadership Development Modules — Startup Week, Midterm Week, and End-of-Year — is hosted in a different country by one of our Academic Partners, and each is built around the coaching framework focusing on Leading Self, Leading Others and Leading Change. You will work alongside a genuinely international peer group — engineering students from across our partner universities — on real challenges set by our Corporate Partners, supported throughout by professional coaches rather than left to figure it out on your own.
Between modules, you complete a semester or two of academic exchange at another Academic Partner university, and then an internship with one of our Corporate Partners, anywhere in the world. You also have the possibility of writing your MSc thesis with them. By the time you graduate, you will have studied, worked, and built relationships across multiple countries and cultures — and you will join the UNITECH Alumni Association (UAA), a network of 1,700+ engineers who have walked the same rewarding path. Here is what that journey looks like from start to finish:
Academic Exchange with an Academic Partner
Onboarding Sessions Assessment Center
Case Study Teamwork
Internship and/ or Master’s thesis with a Corporate Partner

WHY APPLY?
Join the UNITECH Programme and unlock a world of possibilities for your future! As a UNITECH Programme participant, you will embark on a transformative journey that shapes you into a highly qualified, internationally experienced engineering graduate. The Programme offers you:
International Experience Immerse yourself in a global environment through academic exchange and internship, gaining a minimum of one year of invaluable international experience — with the possibility of writing your final thesis with one of our Corporate Partners. This unique opportunity will broaden your horizons and open doors to diverse cultures and professional landscapes.
Expert Coaching Each module is carefully organized and supported by a team of experienced coaches from our network, committed to helping you unlock your full potential. Benefit from their guidance and expertise as you progress through the different stages of the Programme.
Skill Development The UNITECH Programme builds your leadership skills across three areas, mapped to our UNITECH Skills Framework: Leading Self, Leading Others, and Leading Change. By navigating challenging, real-world scenarios across three modules — each in a different country — you will emerge with highly developed skills and knowledge that set you apart from the crowd.
Real Business Cases In autumn you will work on a real business case submitted by one of our Corporate Partners — a genuine challenge pulled from their own operations, not a hypothetical exercise. A dedicated case advisor from the company supports your team throughout, giving you direct exposure to how a real business actually works through a problem, not just how to write up a solution on paper.
Extensive Connections The UNITECH Programme puts you in direct contact with three communities that can shape your career: our Corporate Partners, who offer real industry insight and opportunities; an international student community across our Academic Partners; and the 1,700+ engineers of the UNITECH Alumni Association (UAA). These go beyond typical networking exchanges — the professional and personal relationships you build here are ones that can open doors long after the Programme ends.
Financial Support We also support you financially: a one-time €1,000 mobility grant covers your travel to all three Leadership Development Modules combined, while accommodation, breakfasts, coffee breaks and two dinners at each module are already taken care of.
Mutual Benefits All of these connections are designed to foster mutual growth and create opportunities for innovation and knowledge-sharing. By leveraging these networks, you will position yourself for long-term success and propel your career to new heights.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Got questions about applying to UNITECH? Here is what you need to know — eligibility, the application process, Assessment Centres, language requirements, university allocation, and financial support, all in one place.
Eligibility The UNITECH Programme is open only to full-time, degree-seeking students at UNITECH Academic Partner universities. Students in their 3rd or 4th year of STEM studies can apply to join the UNITECH Programme during their 4th or 5th year. You will find the specific prerequisites in your home university’s section. Please note: students from non-partner universities cannot participate in the UNITECH Programme.
Application IMPORTANT: Before applying through the UNITECH portal, please read the dedicated UNITECH page on your university’s website — eligibility requirements and deadlines are set by your university, so you must follow their guidelines and regulations. Upon entering the application portal you will be asked to complete the UNITECH online application with: •
Study plans for each of your three target universities (three separate study plans). Please consider each university’s guidelines (which departments are open to UNITECH students, the minimum number of courses required from each department, etc.)
•
A CV in English
•
A transcript of records in English
•
For more information, and to start your application, visit our website here.
Selection and Assessment Centre After the application deadline, students who are selected by their home university will attend an online Assessment Centre organised by UNITECH. Corporate Partners take part as assessors, helping to select the candidates who best fit each year’s UNITECH cohort. Confirmation of acceptance into the UNITECH Programme is given at the end of the Assessment Centre day.
Language English is the language of the UNITECH Programme, so all UNITECH students are required to have a proficient command of English, both spoken and written. While UNITECH does not require an official certificate proving your English level, your university might request that. Please take a carefully read your university requirements before applying.
Allocation to Host University We carefully allocate students to their selected universities to achieve the best balance between individual preferences and group dynamics. Allocations are announced by the Local Office Coordinators at the mid-April.
Financial Support by UNITECH Students accepted into the UNITECH Programme receive a €1,000 grant to help cover travel costs related to the Leadership Development Modules.
Our Partners Our ever-growing list of Corporate and Academic Partners can be found here.
Leadership Development Modules In person. Interactive. Applicable. To set you on a trajectory toward a fulfilling and prosperous career, the UNITECH Programme includes three unique, specially designed modules, spread across one coached programme year. Each module is hosted in a different country by one of our Academic Partners, and each builds skills mapped to the UNITECH Skills Framework — Leading Self, Leading Others, and Leading Change:
MODULE 1 - STARTUP WEEK Hosted in one of our Academic Partner countries, Startup Week is your first time meeting the rest of the cohort in person. You will focus on driving interaction and reflecting on what it takes to work in diverse, multicultural teams — building the foundations of Leading Self and Leading Others: selfawareness, your inner compass, and effective communication. You will also enjoy close contact with the wider UNITECH network through formal events such as Corporate Partners Fair or Ideas Fair, as well as informal networking opportunities for in-depth discussion on cutting-edge topics. These interactions mark the start of your personal connections.
MODULE 2 - MIDTERM WEEK Hosted by another Academic Partner, in a different country from Startup Week, Midterm Week has you working in teams on a real case study submitted by one of our Corporate Partners. You will develop your problem-solving and presentation skills under realistic pressure, and the solutions you propose are often implemented directly within that Corporate Partner’s own operations or strategy — a chance to see the real-world impact of your work.
3 LEADERSHIP SKILL DEVELOPMENT MODULES 3 diferent countries MODULE 3 - END OF YEAR WEEK As your UNITECH journey nears completion and you prepare to enter the professional world, the End of Year module offers a platform for reconnection. It weaves together formal and informal interactions with the UNITECH network. Showcase your expertise by leading workshops on topics of interest, and share your knowledge with fellow UNITECH participants — all while receiving valuable coaching to support your growth and development.
1000 eur mobility grant 3 weeks of workshops, lectures and exercises professional coaching networking with the partners
accommodation, breakfast, coffee breaks and 2 dinners covered by UNITECH
Academic Exchange 1 or 2 semesters (at least 20 ECTS per semester, excluding language courses) You will spend one or two semesters (either autumn, spring or both) at a UNITECH Academic Partner university, living and studying in a foreign country while extending your engineering studies.
The Local Coordinator at your home and host university will support you with the administrative procedures; we strongly recommend confirming the possible exchange duration with them directly. Please note: the requirement to gain a minimum of 20 ECTS from the exchange must be met through conventional taught courses and modules — projects, theses, and language courses do not count toward these 20 ECTS. Some host universities offer small research projects listed as courses in their catalogue; where the resulting grades and credits appear on your transcript and can be transferred back to your home university, these projects can count toward the 20 ECTS requirement. Projects, theses, and language courses can be counted toward credits beyond the first 20 ECTS, provided they are documented on official records (transcript, professors’ letters, certificate of attendance, etc.). For any questions regarding credits please reach out to your Local Coordinator. Please note that accommodation is not guaranteed.
Internship At least one internship with one Corporate Partner, for at least 4 months (6 months recommended)
An internship abroad with one of our UNITECH Corporate Partner companies gives you insight into a specific company you may want to work for, while helping you build the ability to perform internationally. his works both ways. As a UNITECH student, you bring real value to a Corporate Partner’s day-to-day work — someone who has already been through a selective, coached leadership programme and is ready to contribute from day one. That is also why the access is different from a normal recruiting process: you get rare, face-to-face opportunities to meet Corporate Partners in person, long before most candidates would ever reach someone at the company directly. You will have plenty of chances during your time in UNITECH to connect with our Corporate Partners, which may lead to an internship — start a conversation during the UNITECH Leadership Development modules, take part in the dedicated “Career Interviews” event, or connect with company representatives directly on our platform, VeryConnect.
Financial Support during the Internship During the internship, UNITECH students are compensated according to the Corporate Partner’s usual practices, which should cover at least their living costs.
Requirements to graduate from the UNITECH Programme 3 Leadership Development Modules Startup Week, Midterm Week and End of Year
Academic Exchange 1 or 2 semesters (at least 20 ECTS per semester (excluding language courses)
Internship At least one internship with one CP for at least 4 months (6 months are recommended)
Master’s degree from our Academic Partner
UNITECH Fellowship Once all UNITECH Credit requirements are fulfilled and you have obtained your Masters Degree, you are eligible to receive the UNITECH Fellowship certificate.
*Please ensure you consult with your home university, if it has its own requirements in terms of a) number of credits to be taken on the exchange and b) number of weeks for the internship.
