Camp 2030 is an adult Summer Camp for young people who care about creating change.

We believe that you can make a difference and have fun doing it.

We haven’t been given a seat at the table, so we’ve built our own.

And this is what a table built by young people and for young people looks like.

Camp 2030 is more than just a conference. We’re about connecting young Changemakers to take action together for a better future in a real, authentic way.

Each year, 200+ young trailblazers, social entrepreneurs, and innovators from over 50 countries gather in New York for a 6 days to co-create dynamic new solutions that solve the world’s biggest challenges, increasing their knowledge confidence and community, all while having the time of their lives.

It’s everything you remember about Summer Camp, but for some of the coolest, most passionate, and actionoriented young adults across the world.

Camp 2030 is expertly organized by UNITE 2030, a global not-for-profit. Since our founding in 2016, UNITE 2030 has supported over 30,000 young people from 175+ countries to create change and community simultaneously.

And... great news! We’re coming back for more in 2024.

Since 2022, Camp 2030 has brought to life 60 new business ideas that work toward achieving an end to poverty, inequality, injustice, or climate change.

Since UNITE 2030's inception in 2015, we have hosted over 300 events that teach skills relating to social entrepreneurship, leadership, or sustainable development.

Many Campers say that Camp 2030 was “the best experience of my entire life.” ;)

When we say community is at the heart of everything we do, we mean it. And we believe that you can be BOTH a social innovator, and have fun too.

As an all-inclusive experience, Camp 2030 has all the elements necessary for an unforgettable week with like-minded people.

All of your favorite classic camp activities are accounted for: arts and crafts, kayaking, high ropes, water sports, archery and campwide competitions.

Of course, this is better than the Camp you remember. Dance the night away at our disco-themed “Prom” as the DJ spins top hits, or celebrate culture night by bringing a locally themed snack for your new friends to share. Kick back in the “Quad,” or the camp-wide hang-out spot, or go for an early morning dip in the lake!

Teams follow our unique innovation process, which uses a methodology of human-centred design geared toward post-Camp action.

Innovation comes from more than just hard work. It's about building connections that last long after Camp 2030 is over.

The process is a ‘learn-by-doing’ model - AKA no boring workshops, out-of-touch keynotes etc. Just young Changemakers building solutions with our support.

Meaningful friendships can’t just come from innovation. That’s why, all throughout the week, we provide opportunities for you to kick back and hang with new friends - authentically.

Teams receive expert mentorship at various points throughout the week in order to help them bring their solutions to life. Mentors serve as a sounding board and are the key external support that Campers receive throughout the week.

On the final day of Camp 2030, Campers return to New York City for the final pitch competition. The finalist team from each Track is invited to pitch their solution to a judging panel for the opportunity to be crowned the Global Winner.

Joining the ranks of our diverse and dynamic community at Camp 2030 requires participants to meet certain criteria, ensuring that our collective efforts are both meaningful and impactful. If you're eager to be a part of this transformative journey, here's what you need to know: 1. Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 18-35 years old on the first day of Camp 2030 (September 9, 2024).

2. Language Proficiency: A high grasp of English is essential, as all Camp sessions, activities, and interactions will be conducted in English.

3. Commitment to Change: We’re looking for walk not talk. Applicants should have a proven commitment to taking actionable steps in addressing challenges and driving positive change within their communities.

4. Vibe Match Our vibe is one of authenticity and realness. For us, it’s essential that all of our Campers match the energy we bring, which is enthusiasm and passion for a better future (with a sprinkle of willingness to dive right in!)

Our Campers are innovators, aspiring entrepreneurs, students, founders, corporate leaders, consultants, UN staffers, or just young people passionate about creating change.

Meet a few of our former Campers who are paving the way for a better future.

Shane Ralli is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Management at Canadore College in Canada. Additionally, has also completed a Bachelor of Science degree at S.C.D. Government College in India. In his role as a Facilities Sustainability Student Assistant at Canadore College, Shane collaborates closely with Environmental Scientists to help them reach their Sustainable Development Goals.

Yasmine Al Moghrabi is a Regional Youth Leader, PhD Student in Transportation Engineering (Integrated Intelligent Transportation Systems/Traffic Engineering), and global road safety and climate action activist named one of the top 10% of Changemakers from around the world who have acted in favor of Global Goals.

Ani Samadashvili is a Risk Management Specialist at Ministry of Defence of Georgia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in international relations.

Ani constantly strives to actively participate in projects and develop herself in ways that will help her achieve her goal of changing the world for the better, including Camp 2030!

how it works With Changemakers hailing from every corner of the globe, we're as diverse in our backgrounds as we are in our passions. Yet, we all share one fierce drive: to roll up our sleeves and dive headfirst into solving the world's most pressing issues.

CAMP 2030 PROGRAM MANAGER

“Camp 2030 is exactly where young changemakers need to be. Surrounded by nature, a community of people with the same passion as them and the resources and networks necessary to make it happen. It fills Campers, top to bottom, with a renewed sense of hope, and sense that yes, they can change the world, and yes, they can do it on a global scale, with this community. It's a powerful resistance to simply talking about making change.”

Each year, we open up applications to young leaders around the world who are passionate about social change. They don’t have to be part of our community already. They just have to be between 18 - 35, have a proven commitment toward making an impact in their community, and they have to match our vibe.

We’re trying to shake things up. We think that the social impact space is *kinda boring*, and we think that if we put the community and authenticity back into creating change, we can make a better planet for all. We look for young leaders who bring themselves, their enthusiasm, and their passion for creating change to the table.

When Campers apply, they select a thematic “Track” which aligns with a social impact area of interest. Once they arrive on Camp, we split them into teams of 3-5 other people (strangers!) and throughout the week, they work their way through a social innovation challenge. At the end of the week, each team has a brand new social business venture that they can take to market.

Throughout the week, socialize while you innovate new solutions to the world’s biggest problems. Each day, work in teams to build your solution, and each night, join us for an evening social activity!

Each team will pitch their solutions to a judging panel. The finalists will move on to pitch at the Solutions Hub!

Return to New York City for the first day of Global Goals Week where the winning teams pitch their solution for the chance to become the Global Winner.

At Camp 2030, we're not just brainstorming; we're building next-gen solutions with a human touch. By embracing design thinking, we're crafting ideas that resonate deeply with the communities in focus. And don't sweat the process – our seasoned mentors, Counselors, and the UNITE 2030 HQ Team, have got your back, guiding you every step of the way.

TREVOR JONES “We decided to dive into the problem of the lack of access to clean cooking fuels in underdeveloped, rural areas of the world. We created an action plan that contained our problem statement, suggested solution, costs, and how we will make it happen. Overall, I learned so much about the innovation process, about how to keep it realistic, feasible, sustainable, and etc. I also learned that the most important part of innovation is falling in love with the problem rather than the solution.

For 2024, we’ve selected six Tracks (SDGs) handpicked based on what issues are buzzing in the global community. These Tracks don't just set the tone for the innovations at Camp 2030; they ripple out, influencing change on a grander scale postCamp.

Do I have to know about the SDGs in order to attend Camp 2030?

Absolutely not!

Camp 2030 is designed to be an inclusive space for all Changemakers, regardless of their familiarity with the SDGs. We believe in learning together and our sessions and Innovation Process are crafted to educate, inspire, and engage participants at all knowledge levels.

We believe that all social change is progress -regardless of how interlinked it is to the SDGs. If you want to explore opportunities to expand your knowledge on the SDGs pre-Camp, we recommend signing up for pre-Camp workshops.

Team-Building Delegates are assigned teams based on thematic "Tracks," and strengthen interpersonal and intercultural skills.

September 9th - 14th, 2024 Camp Echo Lake, nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, is not just a camp; it's a legacy of community bonds, fostering leadership, and nature.

For Camp 2030, which thrives on community and innovative thinking, Camp Echo Lake provides the perfect blend of natural tranquility and conducive spaces. It’s here that young changemakers can disconnect from the digital buzz, and connect with some of the coolest, brightest young Changemakers from around the globe.

What are the accommodations like at Camp Echo Lake?

All Campers stay in single-gendered cabins of between 6 and 8 fellow campers. The cabins are cozy, but remember: you’re still at a summer camp! Each cabin comes equipped with indoor toilets and sinks, and there are shared shower rooms nearby. There is no heating or air conditioning at Camp, and conditions are usually mild in September.

We do not offer private accommodation during Camp, but you are welcome to book private accommodation during Camp 2030 through UNITE upon registration.

CAFUI AWASU “When Camp closed out in New York City, I walked away deeply impacted by each of the people that I had spent time with. It’s not easy to find one person with similar goals, let alone an entire cohort of young people from all around the world who care so deeply about taking action to change our planet. We laughed til our stomachs hurt, we danced til the stars came out, we threw ourselves wholeheartedly into the experience, and most of all, we learned to fall in love with the problem, not the solution.”

A hallmark of Camp 2030 is our nightlife -- bringing young people together to celebrate culture, community, and just have an all-around kick*** time.

With drinks flowing, music bumping, and the dance floor alive, our evening activities are what brings our community together. Our activities change from year-to-year. Some 2023 highlights included: Culture Night, a disco-themed prom, campfire, and games night.

Beyond the nightlife, dive into a classic American summer camp experience.

We’re talking all the things you’ve dreamt of: high ropes, kayaking, paddleboarding, football, basketball, tennis, swimming, cabins, wildlife, and the great outdoors.

Camp 2030 takes place at the start of Global Goals Week, a UN Foundation Initiative that aligns with UN High-Level Week as part of the United Nations General Assembly.

GGW offers a unique opportunity for Campers to stay in New York following Camp 2030 to immerse in more international opportunities post-Camp.

September 14th, 2024 | New York City The Solutions Hub is official UNITE 2030's Global Goals Week event, and the only day of Camp 2030 open to the general public.

On the final day of Camp 2030, Campers return to New York City for the final pitch competition. The finalist team from each Track is invited to pitch their solution to a judging panel for the opportunity to be crowned the Global Winner.

But it doesn’t feel like a competition -- instead, a celebration of youth-led solutions to the biggest challenges that the world faces.

The Solutions Hub is part of Global Goals Week, an initiative of the UN Foundation that aligns with United Nations’ High-Level Week.

We invite stakeholders, experts, and strategic partners to help us both amplify youth voices, while also engaging in meaningful dialogue that leads to action long after Camp 2030 is over.

The top team from each Track is selected by our first round judges to pitch on the Main Stage during the Solutions Hub. Our Final Judging Panel is tasked with selecting the top 3 winning teams on the following criteria: Members of the 2023 Finalist Team for Track 4 (Quality Education) Cordelia Lyons and

Fit: Does the solution match the problem statement?

Impact: Does the solution directly deliver to the SDG assigned to the track in a measurable way?

Self-Sustaining: Can the solution sustain itself?

Scalable: Can the solution easily expand in the future?

Realistic: Is the solution realistic based on available resources?

Pitch: Is the pitch clear, and concise, and does it tell a compelling narrative?

Vibravolt captures wasted vibrational energy from appliances and converts it into usable electrical power.

Fishfert directs volumes of fish waste from landfills and water bodies, transforming it into a high-value bioproduct.

Right Return to Health provides free first aid training to all students enrolled in high school or university to eliminate the rate of fatalities due to car crashes.

United Waste connects the food waste from grocery stores and consumers to local bioplastic producers and facilitate sustainable relationships between companies.

Turtle Island Mentorship Program is a mentorship program that connects First Nations youth with First Nations graduates from their reserves.

Think Green is a composting and plastic recycling site that sorts, and repurposes food and plastic waste as well as absorbs toxic emissions with zeolite detectors.

September 16th, 2024 | Post-Camp 2030 Engagement Cap off your Camp 2030 journey with an exclusive VIP dinner, perfectly timed to segue into the Global Goals Week festivities. This event is an opportunity to mingle with thought leaders, stakeholders, and partners, share reflections, and discuss the week's insights. As we dine, we'll also celebrate the strides made toward the Sustainable Development Goals and look ahead to the collaborative efforts of the coming days.

At Camp 2030, Campers dedication and drive don't go unnoticed. Our Individual Awards spotlight the passion and prowess of standout Campers. Whether you're an ideator, a leader, team player, or someone who brings others together, there's an accolade waiting to celebrate Campers’ unique contribution.

Each year, UNITE 2030's Board of Directors recognizes 6 outstanding youth leaders who have exhibited our core values through their interactions with their peers.

Each award winner receives a full scholarship to participate in the Youth Delegate Program, which is UNITE 2030’s 3-month leadership development program for Changemakers, as well as mentorship from members of our Board of Directors.

Presented by Patrick Burnell, Executive Director of SolSearch Energy SolSearch Energy is a solar energy recruitment company based out of New York City. They partner with the top solar company’s in the US and help them to tackle the energy transition by helping them hire the best solar professionals for their business.

Currently there are 10x as many jobs being recruited for than experienced solar professionals looking for work, meaning that young professionals are needed to bridge that gap more than ever. To help combat this, SolSearch presented Jude Alaama with the SolSearch Emerging Leader in Clean Energy Award for showing a true commitment to the energy transition, demonstrating an ability to build strong relationships and challenge their peers for the sake of betterment of those around them.

Jude received 5 hours of career mentorship from the SolSearch team, as well as a full scholarship to participate in UNITE 2030’s Youth Delegate Program.

Nominated by their peers, Campers select one youth Changemaker to deliver the keynote address on behalf of the group.

We offer several opportunities for pre and post-Camp 2030 engagement, to help our Changemakers both prep for Camp, and expand their impact long after the week is over.

September 8th, 2024 Kickstart your Camp 2030 journey with our pre-camp Welcome Drinks & networking event. Set in a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere, this gathering is the perfect space to mingle with fellow Campers, share aspirations, and perhaps even brainstorm a few early ideas over refreshments. You’ll ease your pre-Camp jitters and meet fellow Campers before you board the bus!

Completing your journey at Camp 2030 is just the start of a new exciting chapter. Attending Camp unlocks new doors that you can use to accelerate your impact, empower other Changemakers, and build your network.

As our alumni, Campers evolve into "Ambassadors" of our global mission. This title isn't merely honorary; it's a passport to a world of privileges.

As an Ambassador, not only can you return to relive the magic of camp, but you'll also unlock access to a realm of exclusive opportunities tailored just for you.

Campers who exhibit leadership, action, and help us curate the vibe during Camp 2030 are invited to return as Counselors for the following year.

Counselors are at the heart of the Camp experience, fostering an environment where ideas flourish and community can be created.

Counselors serve 1-year terms beginning in May each year and leave Camp 2030 as trained facilitators of our Innovation Process, with opportunities to return to their home communities and deliver workshops, trainings, and Innovation Hacks alongside the HQ Team.

Becoming a Counselor is not just an opportunity to help others have a great time, but also to amplify the spirit of Camp 2030 back home.

MY DOAN “Never stop moving" – this is a lesson my remarkable teammate, Peter Kuhl, shared with our Camp 2030 team. He learned this lesson during his dancing course, and it holds a profound meaning for all of us.

To me, our six-day journey in this innovation lab is like a dance. We're not standing still; we're constantly moving. We're dancing with joy alongside over 150 young leaders from more than 50 countries. We're dancing to the rhythm of our shared passion for creating innovative solutions to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. And most importantly, we're dancing with hope, the hope for a better future for all.

Attending as an Individual is traditionally the most common way to attend Camp 2030. Here’s how it works:

Campers applying as Individuals must submit the application form on our website for individual applicants.

We receive a high volume of applications, and we have limited spaces available, so we recommend taking time and being intentional about your application. Priority goes to those who apply early!

We review applications on a rolling basis. Most applications are notified of their acceptance or rejection within 6 weeks.

Accepted Campers are required to register for Camp 2030 within 30 days of their acceptance email. After 30 days, if you have not registered, we will release your space to another deserving applicant. Due to high volumes of applications, we are unable to offer extensions. Please be sure to read your acceptance email which includes relevant dates & deadlines

After you register, there is nothing left to do but prep for Camp! If you need to apply for a visa to enter the US, you can do so during this time.

It’s Camp time! We’ll see you in New York on September 9th!

For the first time in 2024, we are now offering Group Applications! Group Applications allow the opportunity for you to apply with friends, colleagues, or a small group without needing to go through the formal Delegation process. If your application is approved, you don’t have to stress about others’ in your group attending too!

Campers applying in groups of 2 - 5 people are welcome to submit an application as a group. Group registration fees are charged at the time of application.

If your group application has been accepted, you are all set to attend Camp 2030 and no further action is required on your part. If your group application has been rejected, your registration fee will be refunded.

After you register, there is nothing left to do but prep for Camp! If you need to apply for a visa to enter the US, you can do so during this time.

It’s Camp time! We’ll see you in New York on September 9th!

Delegations are official groups of more than 5 Campers who are attending officially on behalf of a university, company, organization, or institution. Delegations receive brand visibility opportunities, as well as additional benefits that help your company invest in talent development as well as bring your top young people to the world’s biggest challenges.
