PRESENTATION TEDxUnisinos 2014 / APRESENTAÇÃO

W

ith the topic Ideas for Everyday Life, TEDxUnisinos 2014 demonstrated that we live experiences which bring us new knowledge every day. For that reason it counted on a team of twelve speakers from different places, who shared their histories with the audience. The testimony of the people who went on the stage of TEDxUnisinos inspired all the event participants. The speeches presented trajectories built by trial and error, which have led to the development of initiatives that drive reflection and change in several areas.

The 2014 edition ensures TEDxUnisinos as one of the great innovation events in the country. After four years, the project has strengthened up through the participation, increasingly bigger, of people that are engaged in the initiative. Since the creation of the event, more than 2,500 people were at the speeches carried out by TEDxUnisinos. In this period more than 500 thousand views were accounted at YouTube. Speakers of different parts of the world participated in the event, sharing ideas with our community.

Every year the participants of TEDx Unisinos receive a special gift. In this year edition every participant was given a game developed by the designer Mirela Rosa* under the concept build by the group I.D.E.I.A. em Mov-

imento. This souvenir reinforces the social impact of the event providing teachers of elementary school with a tool for developing of stories in the classroom.

It’s interesting to remind of the history of I.D.E.I.A. em Movimento. It began at TEDxUnisinos 2011, where the participants of the group Giulia Borba, Joana Masutti, Maria Eduarda Cini and Natalia Pritsch presented the concept of their project: the collective construction of knowledge, out of the traditional classroom and on the exchanges amongst students.

The project was created and developed within two years in the school Maria Thereza da Silveira where the group had fortnight meetings with the students of the third year. As a result they developed a series of actions which include a book with stories by the children and the game Era uma Vez – gincana criativa, which was distributed at this TEDxUnisinos.

The news that have reached the TEDxUnisinos team, tells that a few months after the event, various teachers have been using the game Era uma Vez as a support in classroom.

This attitude helps the achievement of our goal with the TEDxUnisinos: building projects which impact the community and change the society in a medium term.

My students were challenged to use the game Era uma Vez – aprendendo a criar histórias, which was given to participants of the TEDxUnisinos 2014, aiming at promoting conversation. They have followed the steps suggested and created their own story – a play. Besides fun and interactive moments in class, the students created sites, characters and situations which gave evidence of what they’ve been learning so far.”

PRESENTATION TEDxUnisinos 2014 / APRESENTAÇÃO

C

om o tema Ideas for Everyday Life, o TEDxUnisinos de 2014 mostrou que diariamente vivemos experiências que nos trazem novos conhecimentos. Para tanto, contou com um time de doze palestrantes de diferentes lugares, que dividiram com o público as suas histórias.

O testemunho de quem subiu ao palco do TEDxUnisinos trouxe inspiração para quem participou do evento. Os relatos apresentaram trajetórias construídas por erros e acertos, que levaram ao desenvolvimento de iniciativas que impulsionam a reflexão e a mudança em diversas áreas.

A edição 2014 consolidou o TEDxUnisinos como um dos grandes eventos de inovação do país.

Após quatro anos, o projeto se fortificou por meio da participação, cada vez maior, de pessoas engajadas nessa iniciativa. Desde a criação do evento, mais de 2.500 pessoas estiveram presentes nas palestras realizadas pelo TEDxUnisinos. Neste período já contabilizamos mais de 500 mil views no YouTube. Palestrantes de diferentes partes do mundo participaram do evento, compartilhando ideias com a nossa comunidade.

Anualmente os participantes do TEDxUnisinos ganham um brinde especial. Na edição desse ano entregamos a todos os participantes um jogo desenvolvido pela designer Mirela Rosa* e com o conceito construído pelo grupo I.D.E.I.A. em Movimento. Esse brinde reforça o

impacto social do evento, pois visa apoiar os professores do ensino fundamental como uma ferramenta para o desenvolvimento de histórias em sala de aula. É interessante lembrar a história do I.D.E.I.A em Movimento. Tudo começou no TEDxUnisinos 2011, onde as integrantes do grupo inspiraram-se em fazer algo pelo o que as deixava inquietas. E assim, no ano seguinte, no palco do TEDxUnisinos 2012, Giulia Borba, Joana Masutti, Maria Eduarda Cini e Natalia Pritsch apresentaram o conceito do seu projeto: a construção coletiva do conhecimento, fora da sala de aula tradicional e nas trocas entre alunos.

O projeto nasceu e se desenvolveu durante dois anos na Escola Maria Thereza da Silveira, onde o grupo manteve encontros quinzenais com os alunos do terceiro ano. Como resultado, desenvolveram uma série de ações, que incluem um livro com as histórias das próprias crianças e o jogo Era uma Vez - gincana criativa, que foi distribuído nessa edição do TEDxUnisinos.

Pelos relatos que chegaram à equipe do TEDxUnisinos, poucos meses após o evento, diversos professores estão utilizando o jogo Era uma Vez como apoio em sala de aula. Essa atitude colabora para a concretização do nosso objetivo com o TEDxUnisinos: construir projetos que impactem na comunidade e transformem a sociedade no médio prazo.

Lauren Aita

G

raduated in Business Administration (UFRGS) and Public Relations (PUCRS), she realized she could be an educator working with Human Resources and Internal Communication. She made the Corporate Education into her own business and was thrilled by collaborative methodologies from the Art of Hosting. On her way of self-discovery, she also realized she could be a graphic facilitator and currently explores new possibilities in the Masters Course in Strategic Design (Unisinos), researching Social and Cultural Innovation. As a partner of Substantive, she develops projects for learning, engagement and co-creation in order to create forms of dialogue and make changes along with people and companies.

Graduada em Administração de Empresas (UFRGS) e Relações Públicas (PUCRS), ela se descobriu educadora trabalhando com Recursos Humanos e Comunicação Interna. Fez da Educação Corporativa um negócio próprio e se encantou por metodologias colaborativas a partir do Art of Hosting. Em seu caminho de auto-descoberta, também se reconheceu facilitadora gráfica e, atualmente, explora novas possibilidades no mestrado em Design Estratégico (Unisinos), pesquisando Inovação Social e Cultural. Como sócia da Substantiva, desenvolve projetos de aprendizagem, engajamento e cocriação para, junto a pessoas e empresas, criar meios de diálogo e empreender mudanças.

Bruno Bittencourt

B

runo Bittencourt is a student/teacher/entrepreneur who is an enthusiast of education and of entrepreneurship. Being eager for learning, the manager, currently studying for his master’s degree in Administration with emphasis on Innovation, Technology and Sustainability at UFRGS, participates in various initiatives related to the subjects. In 2013, aiming at finding solutions for Brazilian problems, he was the co-founder of the School Convexo, an alternative of New Education, which operates in the collaborative school model and aims at developing young leaderships in public schools, as from communication, logic, and entrepreneurship. Following the example of this work, Bruno believes that innovation is a tool which triggers micro revolutions that are able to transform the world.

Bruno Bittencourt é um aluno/professor/ empreendedor entusiasta da educação e do empreendedorismo. Sedento por aprendizagem, o administrador e atual mestrando em Administração com ênfase em Inovação, Tecnologia e Sustentabilidade na UFRGS, participa de diversas iniciativas relacionadas aos temas. Em 2013, visando soluções para os problemas do Brasil, cofundou a Escola Convexo, uma alternativa de Nova Educação, que funciona no modelo de escola colaborativa e tem como objetivo desenvolver jovens lideranças na escola pública, a partir de comunicação, lógica e empreendedorismo. Seguindo o exemplo desse trabalho, Bruno acredita que a inovação é uma ferramenta para gerar microrrevoluções capazes de transformar o mundo.

imone Ronzani is a journalist with a specialization in Entertainment Management at ESPM - Rio and founder of Recontando. com, a pioneering and innovative news portal for children. Having her degree for 10 years, she has worked on Rede Globo, Jornal do Brasil, Jornal do Commercio (Branch of Rio de Janeiro), O Fluminense and at the executive and legislative branches of Rio de Janeiro.

She is the author of the scientific communication ‘Children, Media and the process of formation of citizenship’ of the Revista Linha Mestra, of the Reading Association of Brazil (ALB).

Simone Ronzani é jornalista especializada em Gestão do Entretenimento pela ESPM – Rio e criadora do Recontando.com, portal pioneiro e inovador de notícias para crianças.

Formada há 10 anos, já trabalhou na Rede Globo, Jornal do Brasil, Jornal do Commercio (Sucursal do Rio de Janeiro), O Fluminense e nos poderes Executivo e Legislativo do Rio de Janeiro. É também autora da comunicação científica ‘As crianças, os Meios de Comunicação e o processo de formação da cidadania’ da Revista Linha Mestra, da Associação de Leitura do Brasil (ALB).

Aaron Horowitz

A

aron is a maker; from sculptures to business, he is fascinated by the process of taking an idea from concept to reality.

He is passionate about creating physical computing interfaces that change the way in which we interact with technology. He is the co-founder and currently CEO of Sproutel, the creator of Jerry the Bear – a robotic learning tool for children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Aaron has shared his expertise in robotics and entrepreneurship through speaking at numerous conferences including Hardware Innovation Workshop, Big Ideas Fest, CUSP, TEDxProvidence, IFTF, A Better World by Design, NYU Ambition, MakerFaire NYC and SEEED. Aaron has recently been named as one of the honored makers by the White House. He holds a degree in Mechatronics and User Interaction Design from Northwestern University and sits on the national advisory board of Design for America.

Aaron é um criador; de esculturas a negócios, ele é fascinado pelo processo de transformar uma ideia do conceito à realidade. Ele é apaixonado pela criação física de interfaces computacionais que mudam a maneira como interagimos com a tecnologia. Atualmente é co-fundador e CEO da Sproutel, criadora de Jerry the Bear – uma ferramenta robótica de aprendizado para crianças diagnosticadas com diabetes tipo 1. Aaron compartilhou sua expertise em robótica e empreendedorismo por meio de diversas conferências, como a Harward Hardware Innovation Workshop; Big Ideas Fest; CUSP; TEDxProvidence; IFTF; A Better World by Design; NYU Ambition; MakerFaire NYC e SEEED. Júlio César Brenner

H

e has a degree in Accounting and a specialization in Business Administration from the Federal University of Santa Maria (USFM), where he also was the first physically handicapped teacher, having to use a wheelchair, teaching classes for the course in Accounting and coordinating the Computer Laboratory of the Centre for Social and Human Sciences of UFSM. There he had the opportunity to meet and work with students of various degree courses. Julinho, as he is known, has been using a wheelchair for 55 years, and despite the difficulties, he has never been discouraged and has always tried to make a difference in the environment where he lives, helping those in need. He founded the Santamariense Association of the Disabled, he was president of the Institute of Education CPM Olavo Bilac and city councilman of Santa Maria from 1997 to 2008 when he developed important laws for society. Since 2002 he is the president of APAE of Santa Maria, which serves approximately 120 students with intellectual and multiple disabilities, leading the process of transformation of the institution to a school and health clinic.

É graduado em Ciências Contábeis e Pós-Graduado em Administração de Empresas pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, onde também foi o primeiro professor deficiente físico cadeirante, ministrando aulas para o curso de Ciências Contábeis e coordenando o Laboratório de Informática do Centro de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da UFSM. Lá teve a oportunidade de conhecer e trabalhar com alunos de vários cursos superiores. Julinho, como é conhecido, é cadeirante há 55 anos, e apesar das dificuldades, nunca desanimou e sempre procurou fazer a diferença no meio onde vive, ajudando a quem precisa.

Fundou a Associação Santamariense de Deficientes Físicos, foi presidente do CPM do Instituto de Educação Olavo Bilac e Vereador de Santa Maria de 1997 a 2008, tendo elaborado importantes leis para a sociedade.

Desde 2002 é presidente da APAE de Santa Maria, que atende aproximadamente 120 alunos com deficiências intelectuais e múltiplas, liderando o processo de transformação da instituição em escola e clínica de saúde.

Yentl Delanhesi

Y

entl comes from different, but complementary specialties. Having a degree in Digital Communication, she has worked with strategic planning and information architecture for local projects, regional and global major multinationals in Brazil for years.

She lives in the United States, where she combines her sensitivity and ability in planning, conceptualizing and producing projects in the areas of education, art and innovation. She is currently spending some time in Brazil, living in the Inhotim Park in Belo Horizonte, where she has been developing a strategic project for the site.

Yentl vem de especialidades diferentes, mas complementares. Formada em Comunicação Digital, durante anos trabalhou com planejamento estratégico e arquitetura de informação para projetos locais, regionais e globais das principais multinacionais do Brasil. Vive nos Estados Unidos, onde combina sua sensibilidade e habilidade em planejamento, conceituando e produzindo projetos nas áreas de educação, arte e inovação. Atualmente está passando uma temporada no Brasil, residindo dentro do Parque Inhotim, em Belo Horizonte, onde desenvolve um projeto estratégico para o local.

SPEAKERS Flávia Maoli

W

hen she was 23 years old, Flavia Maoli was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. She heard from her doctors that hers was easily curable. But it was not. A year and a half after treatment, the disease returned and Flavia had to undergo a bone marrow transplant. Being aware of her, from now on, real difficult life and that other people have to lead with the same problem as well, Flavia made two decisions: being happy and helping the people. She created the blog “Beyond the hair” and her motto is: Cancer is not a choice; good mood is. Without dramatizing the illness the author – based on her own experience of life – helps other patients to see cancer as a disease, and not as a death sentence. After being successful with the blog, Maoli developed other projects, such as her virtual shop and the Chameleon Project: Self-esteem against cancer. Having decided to face the disease with an optimistic and good humored view, Flavia changed her current state and the one of many other people.

Aos 23 anos, Flavia Maoli foi diagnosticada com Linfoma de Hodgkin, um tipo de câncer no sistema linfático. Ouviu dos médicos que seu caso era facilmente curável. Não era. Um ano e meio após o tratamento, a doença voltou, e Flavia teve que se submeter a um transplante de medula óssea. Sabendo que sua realidade não era fácil e que outras pessoas lidam com o mesmo problema, Flavia tomou duas decisões: ser feliz e ajudar as pessoas. Criadora do blog Além do Cabelo, seu lema é: Câncer não é escolha; bom humor é. Sem dramatizar a doença, a autora – baseada em sua própria vivência – ajuda outros pacientes a enxergarem o câncer como uma doença, e não como uma sentença de morte. Com o sucesso do blog, Maoli desenvolveu outros projetos, como sua loja virtual e o Projeto Camaleão: Autoestima contra o câncer. Ao decidir encarar a doença com um olhar otimista e bem humorado, Flavia transformou a sua realidade e a de muitas outras pessoas.

Eduardo Goerl

H

e has a degree in Administration, Innovation and Leadership Management, Unisinos. He has still worked as a translator, ERP software salesman, barkeeper, pool lifeguard, hotel clerk, among others. Today he is a pilot of Airbus 320 which is a dream come true. On aviation he was an instructor for both theory and flight. In the last four years he’s been working for the biggest aviation company in the country. In addition to aviation, he founded a company named Agrone and is developing an agricultural drone.

É formado em Administração, com habilitação em Gestão para Inovação e Liderança (GIL), da Unisinos. Já trabalhou como tradutor, vendedor de software ERP, barista, salva-vidas de piscina, atendente de hotel, entre outros. Hoje, é piloto de Airbus A320, que é a realização de um sonho. Na aviação, já foi instrutor teórico e de voo. Nos últimos quatro anos, trabalha na maior empresa aérea do país. Paralelo à aviação, abriu uma empresa chamada Agrone e desenvolve um drone agrícola.

Alessio Battistella

A

lessio Battistella has a PhD in Architecture and Engineering, focusing on sustainable landscaping architecture, the area where he works in the cooperative ARCò - architecture and cooperation, being its president and founding member. The group, formed by architects and engineers, believes in architecture as the “solution of contingent problems through an aesthetic interpretation – and so, sensitive – of reality.” ARCò provides technical consulting and works on construction projects and interior design, understanding that sustainable architecture is achieved through the convergence of techniques, social interaction and understanding of the places where projects will be developed, natural resource management and renewable energy sources for careful maintenance of the life cycle of the building. Alessio is also vice president of the association Paesaggi Connessi (Connected Landscapes), where surveys are conducted in the design of landscapes.

Alessio Battistella é pós graduado em arquitetura e engenharia, com foco em arquitetura sustentável de paisagismo, área em que atua na cooperativa ARCò – arquitetura e cooperação, da qual é presidente e membro fundador.

O grupo, formado por arquitetos e engenheiros, acredita na arquitetura como a resolução dos problemas contingentes através de uma interpretação estética - e assim, sensível - da realidade. A ARCò oferece consultoria técnica e trabalha em projetos de construção, design de interiores, entendendo que a arquitetura sustentável se faz através da convergência entre técnica, interação e entendimento social dos locais onde serão desenvolvidos os projetos, gestão de recursos naturais e fontes renováveis de energia para uma manutenção cuidadosa do ciclo de vida da construção. Alessio também é vice-presidente da associação Paesaggi Connessi (Paisagens Conectadas), onde são realizadas pesquisas no design de paisagens.

Thaís Furtado

T

hais Furtado is a journalist, graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. At UFRGS she has also got her masters in Literature, and her PhD in Communication.

She worked for the magazine Veja as a reporter, branch office chief and sub-editor, and at the newspaper Zero Hora, as the editor of general subjects editorship.

She is the coordinator of the Unisinos Experimental Agency of Communication and of the journalism course at the university campus in Porto Alegre.

She teaches classes in journalism courses of São Leopoldo and Porto Alegre, and in the course of Audiovisual Production. Her doctoral thesis examines children journalism practiced in Brazil, especially by the magazine Recreio, and its relation to children’s consumption.

Thaís Furtado é jornalista, formada pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Na UFRGS, fez também seu mestrado, em Letras, e seu doutorado, em Comunicação. Trabalhou na revista Veja como repórter, chefe de sucursal e sub-editora, e no jornal Zero Hora, como editora da Editoria de Geral. É coordenadora da Agência Experimental de Comunicação da Unisinos e coordenadora do curso de Jornalismo da universidade no campus de Porto Alegre. Ministra aulas nos cursos de Jornalismo de São Leopoldo e Porto Alegre, e no curso de Realização Audiovisual. Sua tese de doutorado examina o jornalismo infantil praticado no Brasil, especialmente pela revista Recreio, e sua relação com o consumo infantil.

SPEAKERS José Alberto Lovetro / PALESTRANTES

J

osé Alberto Lovetro (JAL) is a journalist and cartoonist, having majored in the Journalism Faculty Cásper Líbero. He began his career in the Folha de São Paulo in 1973 and published in several national and international media. He was awarded in 1981 by the newspaper Asahi Shimbun (Japan) as a cartoonist, and for his work in the campaign Diretas Já (1984), with the prize Vladimir Herzog for Human Rights. He was also awarded in several humor contests. He is currently President of the Association of Cartoonists of Brazil and owns a company (JAL Communication) that produces exhibitions, events, books and press office. One of the companies whom they provide services to is the Mauricio de Sousa Productions. He created the HQMIX prize in 1988 with Gualberto Costa and with the support of Serginho Groisman. In partnership with Gualberto Costa, he published the book “The history of football in Brazil through the cartoons” (Ed. Bom Texto - 2005) and “Brazil In World Cups through Cartoons” (Panini - 2013). He was a teacher of comics in the School of Communication and Arts at USP / SP in the 1980s. He developed projects with the Institution for Development of Education of São Paulo with the comic language in schools in the outskirts of São Paulo. He is currently finishing a book on the use of comics and graphic humor in schools, together with Professor Dr. Sonia Luyten, based on research “in loco” in schools of the Department of Education of São Paulo.

José Alberto Lovetro (JAL) é jornalista e cartunista, formado pela Faculdade de Jornalismo Cásper Líbero. Iniciou sua carreira na Folha de São Paulo em 1973 e publicou em diversos veículos nacionais e internacionais. Foi premiado em 1981 pelo jornal Asahi Shimbun (Japão) como cartunista, e por seu trabalho na Campanha Diretas Já (1984) com o Troféu Vladimir Herzog de Direitos Humanos. Também foi premiado em diversos salões de humor. Atualmente é Presidente da Associação dos Cartunistas do Brasil e tem uma empresa (JAL Comunicação) que produz exposições, eventos, livros e assessoria de comunicação. Uma das empresas para quem presta serviços é a Mauricio de Sousa Produções.

Criou o Troféu HQMIX em 1988 com Gualberto Costa e apoio de Serginho Groisman. Ainda com Gualberto Costa, publicou o livro “A história do futebol no Brasil através dos cartuns” (Ed. Bom Texto - 2005) e Brasil Nas Copas através das charges” (Panini - 2013). Na área de educação foi professor de quadrinhos na Escola de Comunicação e Artes da USP/SP nos anos 80. Desenvolveu trabalhos com a Fundação para o Desenvolvimento da Educação de São Paulo com a linguagem de quadrinhos em escolas da periferia de São Paulo. Vanessa Andreotti

V

anessa de Oliveira Andreotti holds the Canadian Research Chair on Inequalities and Global Change and is a teacher at the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She has a degree in Literature at the Federal University of Paraná and was a high school teacher for seven years, in Curitiba. She began her researcher career in Education for International Development and Global Citizenship in England. After that she worked at universities in Ireland, New Zealand, Finland and Canada. Based on post-colonial and post-structuralist theories, her research area deals with policies of construction of knowledge and ethics of representations and transnational relations which reflect in education. She is a consultant to various governmental and non-governmental institutions in the area of citizenship and global responsibility, where she published three books, several academic articles and professional texts. The synthesis of the first ten years of research was articulated in the book “Actionable Postcolonial Theory in Education”, published in English by Palgrave MacMillan, that received the award for “outstanding contribution to curriculum studies” by the Curriculum Studies Division of the American Association of Educational Research.

Vanessa de Oliveira Andreotti é titular da Cátedra Canadense de Pesquisa sobre Desigualdades e Mudança Global e professora da Faculdade de Educação na Universidade da Columbia Britânica, em Vancouver, no Canadá. Formou-se em Letras na Universidade Federal do Paraná e foi professora de Ensino Médio por sete anos, em Curitiba. Iniciou sua carreira de pesquisadora na área de educação para o desenvolvimento internacional e cidadania global na Inglaterra, trabalhando depois em universidades na Irlanda, Nova Zelândia, Finlândia e Canadá. Baseada em teorias póscoloniais e pós-estruturalistas, sua linha de pesquisa aborda as políticas de construção do conhecimento e a ética de representações e relações transnacionais que refletem na educação. Presta assessoria a várias entidades governamentais e não governamentais na área de cidadania e responsabilidade global, na qual publicou três livros, vários artigos acadêmicos e textos profissionais. A síntese dos dez primeiros anos de pesquisa foi articulada no livro “Actionable Postcolonial Theory in Education”, publicado em inglês pela Palgrave MacMillan, que recebeu o prêmio de “excelente contribuição aos estudos de currículo” pela divisão de Estudos de Currículo da Associação Americana de Pesquisa Educacional.

Eduardo Mendonça

E

duardo Mendonça is an actor, director, screenwriter and broadcaster. Known to be the colorado Feliciano in the series “Gre-Nal is Gre-Nal” TV RBS, he is also in the cast of the play “Bailei na Curva”, besides being part of the team of communicators of Radio Atlântida.

He has always participated actively in the creation of his work and pioneered the state in some show genres such as comedy improvisation (Tá, E Aí?! and Happy Hour), stand-up comedy (Stand Upah) and talent shows. On the internet he scripted, produced and starred many videos, among which the viral “How to Make An Electoral Propaganda” (2012) stands out. In the movies he made the feature film “Menos que Nada (Less than Nothing)” by Carlos Gerbase, as well as the short “Folha em Branco (Blank Sheet)” by Iuli Gerbase and “Libertadores”, by Gabriel Rubim. In the theater he received the Azorean Award for Best Supporting Actor 2010 for the show Milkshakespeare show, directed by Camilo de Lélis.

Thaís Furtado The moment on the stage at TEDxUnisinos is the top stage of a much greater experience. The time before the presentation allowed me to get to know many interesting people, with incredible stories of life. In addition there is all the preparation we need when we have to speak about something in a specific time and that will hold the attention of the audience. The presentation per se is the magic moment, when we share an experience with a lot of people. In my case I think that the impact was very positive and, if some people left the theater willing to stimulate children to read, it’s perfect. And the experience doesn’t end with the presentation: the videos are available for every person who’s interested in the story that was told. Summing up: it’s an amazing experience.”

I wanted to be a volunteer at TEDxUnisinos 2014 because I believe in the cause of the event and because I wish the cause it represents multiplies itself. We need innovative people who, with their initiatives, inspire others to make a difference. If we want to better the world I believe the best way to do it is doing it differently to get different results. It’s worth having access to global ideas to apply them locally aiming at transformation.

In this sense, it is important that people buy the idea, use it, share it and make the event increasingly bigger. It was a very valuable experience. The fact of having covered the TEDxUnisinos in real time was a unique opportunity which contributed to my knowledge and curriculum. I could contact other people of my area, exchanging ideas and experiences as well. Since I participated in everything from the backstage it gave me the opportunity to have a different view from that which happens in the front – I could understand that everybody is able to innovate and be a participant. It was worth as a way of inspiration for changing and evolution.”

he concept that guided the development of the set design and visual identity of TEDxUnisinos 2014 is based on teaching and learning in everyday practice, which is present in the various experiences of the human being. Throughout all TEDxUnisinos we have learned that we all assume either the teacher role or the student role at different times of our lives. We have learned that we learn new things every day! We have learned that in order to learn we must experiment, try and try again, dare, paint outside the line, color. In order to learn we need to live! Everyone has its own way of knowing the world and to innovate. This richness must be shared. Knowledge is of no use if it is boxed. We have also realized that there are two ingredients that are essential for learning: the will to do and the acting, the execution.

“Ideas for Everyday Life” is what moves TEDxUnisinos this year. Formal education is complemented by the colors brought by the experiences of our daily lives. That’s why in 2014 the brand TEDxUnisinos gets colors, scribbles / doodles and a look of experimentation.

O conceito que norteou o desenvolvimento de cenografia e identidade visual do TEDxUnisinos 2014 está baseado no ensino e aprendizagem na prática do dia a dia, presente nas várias vivências do ser humano. Ao longo de todos os TEDxUnisinos aprendemos que aluno e professor são papéis que todos nós assumimos em diferentes momentos das nossas vidas. Aprendemos que aprendemos coisas novas todos os dias!

Aprendemos que para aprender é preciso experimentar, tentar e tentar de novo, ousar, pintar fora da linha, colorir. Para aprender é preciso viver! Cada um tem o seu jeito de conhecer o mundo e de inovar. Essa riqueza precisa ser compartilhada. O conhecimento não serve de nada se ficar encaixotado. A gente também se deu conta de que há dois ingredientes que não podem faltar para que se possa aprender: a vontade e o fazer. “Ideias para o Cotidiano” é o que movimenta o TEDxUnisinos desse ano. A educação formal se complementa pelas cores trazidas pelas experiências do nosso dia a dia. Por isso, em 2014 a marca do TEDxUnisinos ganha cores, rabiscos e uma cara de experimentação.

FIERGS/IEL Instituto Euvaldo Lodi – IEL/RS, producer of TEDxUnisinos, is an important partner of the industry and seeks for a series of projects and actions to stimulate the development of Rio Grande do Sul. FUNDAÇÃO MAURÍCIO SIROTSKY SOBRINHO This institution has always kept in mind that the power of transformation is in the hands of young people. ASBEA-RS A ASSOCIAÇÃO BRASILEIRA DOS ESCRITÓRIOS DE ARQUITETURA DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL AsBEA is an institution that has brought together, for over 27 years, architecture firms with significant professional performance in the different areas of the sector. Throughout its trajectory, it has been building links with various segments of society to contribute to the qualified urban development of cities, to enhance the architectural production and to work for the continuous education of its members. One of these

links are with the university in supporting TEDxUnisinos.

“We seek a cooperation with Unisinos to provide greater contact between students and the associated architects, bringing interesting opportunities for both. TEDxUnisinos is one way to make that move, since the logic of the event, to spread good ideas, has everything to do with AsBEA-RS”, says Clarisse Debiagi, president of the association.

Having art direction and its own design studio, Punto Mobile is always aware of worldwide tendencies and points at constant innovation of corporative and production image, having the collaboration of other design studios as well.

VONPAR BEBIDAS E ALIMENTOS consists of three enterprises, in Antonio Carlos, Santa Catarina, Santo Angelo and Porto Alegre in Rio Grande do Sul, besides five distribution centers, in Blumenau, Joinville and Chapecó in Santa Catarina and in Farroupilha and Pelotas in Rio Grande do Sul. The Food production counts on the chocolate factory, in Porto Alegre, one of milk products and sweets in Viamão, in Rio Grande do Sul, and one of delicatessen in Arroio do Meio, in Rio Grande do Sul. Its history is based on the company’s values, which are applied by around 5,000 employees who make the Vonpar everyday life.

VONPAR Bebidas e Alimentos é formada por três fábricas, em Antônio Carlos/SC, Santo Ângelo e Porto Alegre/RS, além de cinco centros de distribuição, em Blumenau, Joinville e Chapecó/SC e, no Rio Grande do Sul, Farroupilha e Pelotas. Já a operação de Alimentos conta com a fábrica de Chocolates, em Porto Alegre, a de Lácteos e Doces, em Viamão/RS, e a de Guloseimas, em Arroio do Meio/RS. A construção desta história é baseada nos valores da empresa, que são aplicados por cerca de 5.000 colaboradores que fazem o dia-a-dia da Vonpar.
