Harvesting a New Lifestyle
Where to View The World Cup
Dinner and a Skyline View
Summer is here, and that means it’s time to slip on shorts, flip-flops, and a new pair of sunnies and head outdoors. Personally, I love spending time out on the ocean aboard my boat. Few things compare to sitting back beneath the warm sun, feeling the sea spray gently cool my skin, and listening to the soothing sound of waves lapping against the bow.
While I love time on my boat, for others, passion can be found right at home. On pages 2-5, our feature article dives into the world of at-home harvesting to create small-batch specialties, including wine, olive oil, and more.
On pages 68-69, we head to the great state of Alaska, where there is plenty of outdoor recreation and fine seafood to enjoy. For golf enthusiasts, be sure to catch our feature on Pinehurst, North Carolina, on page 28. You won’t want to miss an insider’s take on where to dine, stay, play, and relax after hitting the links. For those heading to the Pacific Northwest, our spotlight on Portland on page 17 is a must-read.
For soccer (or football) fans, this summer is shaping up to be filled with exhilarating competition. The World Cup kicks off on June 11, with the final being held on July 19. Whether you live in a host city or not, there are plenty of local events happening around the world for fans to gather and enjoy. Check out some of the hot spots on pages 75-77.
Foodies will rejoice this season, with fresh flavors and vibrant summer fare on offer. On pages 12-13, we highlight rooftop eateries where you can enjoy a meal and a libation under the sun or stars. And for those who enjoy true outdoor dining, on pages 62-63, we examine the trend of high-end picnics. No longer just sandwiches and fruit on a blanket, today’s luxury picnic experiences feature incredible detail and sophistication.
I hope you enjoy this issue of Prestige. I’ll be reading mine with my feet up on deck.

Blending refined architecture with resortstyle living, this extraordinary estate offers sweeping Pacific views, elegant interiors, curated outdoor spaces, and world-class amenities. Wine, olive oil and specialty fruits are valued for the way they reflect the character of the land they come from. Increasingly, rural estate owners are seeking a more meaningful connection to that land itself—wanting to play a role in the story behind an exceptional bottle of wine or olive oil, or to cultivate a carefully curated orchard of their own.
Marina Rizzotto, CEO and founder of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Palazzo Estate, has been working with properties like this for years and has noticed an uptick in demand for Italian estates with onsite agriculture.
“Our clients today are searching for beauty, privacy, nature and something that feels real,” she said. “This year alone, we received interest in our properties from over 80 nationalities across five continents. They want to embrace the Italian lifestyle and are relocating to Italy for a slower, more meaningful way of life.”
For homeowners looking to enjoy the bounty of their land, an on-site vineyard remains especially appealing. Private vineyards for handcrafted wines can be found in Italy, Mexico, California and other destinations around the world.
“For properties like those in California’s San Ynez Valley, a boutique vineyard is certainly a desirable characteristic,” said Deborah Brooks, broker associate with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
“What buyers are often responding to is the overall experience the property offers—privacy, beauty, room to gather, connection to the land, and the romance of wine-country living. A small vineyard can absolutely enhance that story.”

Brooks represents a sprawling property in California’s San Ynez Valley featuring a private food forest with olives, avocados and a microvineyard producing specialized wines.
“Properties with vineyards and olive trees offer buyers more than a home—they offer a lifestyle,” said Tracy Moss, Luxury Collection Specialist with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colonial Homes San Miguel in Mexico. “Buyers are drawn to the sense of privacy, natural beauty and connection to the land, combined with a refined, relaxed atmosphere that feels both luxurious and timeless.”
Moss represents Casa Wisteria, where floors are hewn from locally quarried stone, woodwork is hand-carved by nearby artisans and vine-covered arbors showcase grapes ripe for the picking.
“What makes Casa Wisteria especially compelling is that the vineyards and olive trees are not simply decorative—they are an integral part of the property’s identity and overall experience,” Moss said. “They create a setting that feels authentic, established and deeply connected to the landscape of Viñedos San Lucas.”
These properties often come with vineyard management and wine-production systems, allowing owners to enjoy the experience without the burden of day-to-day operations.

Olive oil: the new gold standard
The desire for authenticity and rooted living is also shaping Spain’s Mediterranean coastline. Luis Oriol Rabassa Moreno, managing partner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Spain, says properties with olive groves “offer a clear added value due to their distinctive Mediterranean character.”
He points to the promise of a personal harvest as a “highly prized asset,” offering both authenticity and a connection to the region.
“Furthermore, respect for the environment and the preservation of agricultural land offer a significant advantage when obtaining construction permits and approvals for new projects,” said Moreno.
Established production services also make ownership more accessible for buyers who want a personal harvest without managing a full-scale operation.

In Arizona’s red rock country, a Sedona estate on Eagle Mountain Ranch Road takes a different approach to edible abundance. The property’s peach and apple orchards—supported by solar power and automatic irrigation—produce fruit that contrasts strikingly with the surrounding desert landscape.
“Many people want to be able to ‘live off the land’, to grow their own fruits and vegetables,” said Nisreen Hawley with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties.
This can be difficult in the desert, requiring careful attention to irrigation possibilities, zoning permits and land management.
“There isn’t a lot of available inventory for someone looking for agricultural land, so [it] tends to move quickly,” said Hawley.
Boutique products instead of bustling cities
Some buyers still gravitate toward major metropolitan areas, but others are looking for more space, quiet and connection to the land.
Rizzotto has seen the market evolve alongside these preferences.
“These estates are no longer only rustic farmhouses,” she said. “Now, they’ve turned into beautiful luxury mansions with pools, guest suites, wellness areas and hospitality spaces.”
Whether in Italy, Spain, Mexico, California, or Arizona, these estates reflect the same desire: a deeper connection to place, culture and the land itself.

There is a special kind of magic reserved for summer evenings spent above it all. Rooftop dining can transform a simple meal into something exhilarating—an experience suspended between skyline and starlight. Elevated above the street, these spaces offer a sense of escape without ever leaving the city. The energy is palpable yet refined—a place where golden hour becomes an event, and even the simplest dish feels imbued with occasion.
Across the U.S., the finest rooftop restaurants pair enticing menus with design-forward spaces and unforgettable vistas. This summer, the best tables aren’t just reserved— they’re elevated. And for those willing to climb a little higher, the reward is nothing short of extraordinary.
In a city with no shortage of restaurants sporting jaw-dropping views, Cindy’s stands apart. Situated atop the 13th floor of the Chicago Athletic Association hotel, the spacious restaurant is topped by an arched glass atrium, which allows guests to dine under natural light during the day and the stars at night. There’s also a year-round terrace, warmed by fire pits, where guests can step out to admire the sweeping views of Millennium Park and the ever-changing blues of Lake Michigan. While the elevated setting is what attracts many first-timers, it’s the kitchen’s contemporary American menu—which emphasizes comfort food and seafood, showcasing locally sourced, seasonal ingredients—that keeps regulars coming back. Cindy’s is especially popular for its weekend brunch, with a lineup of crowdpleasers such as chilaquiles, fresh oysters, and French toast with a Bananas Foster twist.

Cindy’s in Chicago overlooks Millennium Park and Lake Michigan.
Laser Wolf in Brooklyn overlooks the East River and boasts unobstructed views of Manhattan.

One of the Pacific Northwest’s most acclaimed rooftop dining options can be found floating atop Portland’s historic Meier & Frank Building, which now houses the The Nines, a Luxury Collection Hotel. Perched on the 15th floor, Departure welcomes a mix of hotel guests and locals, many of whom are lured by the talents of Chef U’ilaniku’ulei Vele (known as Chef U’i), who highlights her Polynesian heritage in a menu filled with sustainable seafood from throughout the region. Diners pack the sleek interiors— which open onto a spacious outdoor deck with panoramic views of the city, Willamette River, Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens—to nibble on highlights such as bigeye tuna poke, coconut lemongrass mussels, and coffee-roasted pork belly. Another selling point: lovers of fine saké can choose from the longest list in Portland.
One of Miami’s hottest new restaurants, Las’ Lap, comes from the mind of James Beard Award–winning chef and author Kwame Onwuachi. This high-energy hot spot, which marks Onwuachi’s area debut, blends bold Afro-Caribbean flavors and delicious cocktails to deliver festive island vibes. While there is a traditional dining room on the first floor, those looking to see and be seen head up to the restaurant’s rooftop, where celebratory drinks and indulgent bites can be enjoyed against a backdrop of sunset city views. Inspired by his diverse upbringing in New York, Nigeria, and Louisiana, Onwuachi brings his heritage to life through dishes that are both inventive and rooted in tradition. Reflecting this approach is a Cuban sandwich made with oxtail, black truffle and wagyu beef bacon, while pimento-smoked chicken wings get a kick from hot honey and jerk BBQ sauce.
views of Beverly Hills.
New York City has its fair share of rooftop eateries, and the buzziest might just be Brooklyn’s Laser Wolf, an Israeli skewer house on the roof of The Hoxton, Williamsburg hotel. With both indoor and terrace seating, Laser Wolf—whose name pays homage to the butcher from the musical “Fiddler on the
Roof”—offers an ideal vantage point from which to watch the Manhattan skyline change colors as day gradually turns into night. The kitchen, which eschews gas cooktops in favor of prepping everything over a charcoal grill, offers casual à la carte options and prix fixe menus. Highlights among the salatim (starters) include creamy hummus, smoky baba ganoush, Yemenite pickles, and Tunisian potatoes, while the tantalizing lineup of skewers runs the gamut from brisket, chicken and spicy lamb kofta to ocean trout and shawarmaspiced cauliflower.
For an ultimate “only in L.A.” rooftop dining experience, grab a table by the pool at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. Now open to the public for the first time in the hotel’s history, the newly-redesigned rooftop is home to Poza, an open-air restaurant offering California cuisine, stylish cocktails, and memorable 360-degree views of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. This being one of the city’s most luxurious hotels, you’ll never know which boldface name might appear before you, likely indulging in one of the bar’s signature spicy coconut margaritas. Enjoy a sun-drenched brunch or go all out with an assortment of menu highlights like beef bulgogi flatbread and a lobster cobb salad layered with gem lettuce, smoked bacon, and avocado.
Located atop Philadelphia’s tallest tower in the Four Seasons Hotel’s 60th floor sky lobby, this venue provides the city’s highest public dining experience. Led by the Michelin-starred culinary titan Jean- Georges Vongerichten, SkyHigh pairs dramatic, floor-to-ceiling skyline views with refined, seasonal menus and an atmosphere that feels equal parts serene and cinematic. Local power brokers start the day off with breakfast, while romantic couples canoodle over dinner and a nightcap. Enjoy creative cocktails and live music in the lounge area, or decamp to the handsome dining room to nosh on octopus a la plancha, pizza topped with black truffle and fontina, or a crispy hash brown served with Ossetra caviar and smoked salmon.

Havingtraveledto manyplacesaround the world, when I come back home to Portland, myheartis alwayssofull.”

Northwest Real Estate
By Michelle Konstantinovsky
Nicknamed the “City of Roses,” Portland, Oregon, isn’t just known for its flower-friendly climate and permanent place in pop culture history (Portlandia, anyone?). The Pacific Northwest city is a welcoming haven for cyclists, coffee aficionados, book lovers, and more.
“Having traveled to many places around the world, when I come back home to Portland, my heart is always so full,” said Michael Beirwagen, a Luxury Collection Specialist with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwest Real Estate, noting the abundance of hiking paths, natural wonders, and world-class cuisine.
“In Portland, food is about art, texture, and incredible flavor,” Beirwagen said. For a signature spot, he recommends French-inspired Le Pigeon. “The food is always creative and made with the best seasonal, local resources,” he said. Another quintessential staple is Screen Door. “It’s a perfect blend of Northwest flavor and Southern comfort food,” Beirwagen said. Just 15 minutes south of downtown Portland, foodies can also find epic eats in Lake Oswego, including Asian cuisine at Aji Tram and Mexican fare at Jefe.

As far as Beirwagen is concerned, downtown’s Ritz-Carlton is the supreme place to stay in Portland. “Their 19th floor features a highend wellness center that has an infinity pool with floor-to-ceiling windows,” he said. “Their Bellpine restaurant on the 20th floor is a must, with seafood, panoramic views of Mount Hood, and a Pacific Northwest-driven menu. It feels luxurious, but it still feels very Oregon.”
A lovely Portland day often includes a stroll through Sellwood-Moreland, the eclectic neighborhood south of downtown. Populated with vintage shops, trendy bars and a generations-old amusement park, Sellwood truly has something to appeal to all. Those seeking a more outdoorsy way to while away the hours will love walking along the Willamette River, a spot Beirwagen said is teeming with native flora and fauna.
“You can’t beat the Japanese Garden in the West Hills for relaxation and reflection,” Beirwagen said. Art connoisseurs love the rotating exhibits at the Portland Art Museum and the annual Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, just beyond city limits. Those looking to kick back with a cup or cone know the area has “the best ice cream around,” according to Beirwagen. (Portland, after all, is where Salt & Straw was born.) And wellness aficionados love Cascada, an urban oasis featuring thermal springs, spa treatments, and mindful fitness classes.

Pinehurst, North Carolina, is an unpretentious village whose stature in the world of golf rivals St Andrews or Augusta. But for those who wouldn’t know a driver from a dogleg, Pinehurst is still a marvelous escape, featuring history, quintessential Southern charm, and a tradition of hospitality. “I’ve always admired how quaint and beautiful Pinehurst is, and appreciate its slower pace of life,” said Sheryl Bare, managing broker at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Pinehurst Realty Group and a local resident. Noting the town’s welcoming attitude, Bare said, “Pinehurst is a resort town, so we’re all ambassadors for the region.”
The dining scene in Pinehurst is vibrant, but even high-end restaurants are not stuffy. Bare cites the 1895 Grille at The Holly Inn as a go-to choice for fine dining, while Villagio Ristorante showcases Northern Italian cuisine in an elegant setting. For another popular spot, Bare suggests a couple of specific menu items: “My favorite dish at Lisi Italian is the tortellini e gamberetti, but you can’t go wrong with the house-made fried meatballs either.” Nearby Southern Pines offers diverse cuisines: Indian, Mexican, Vietnamese and, of course, Southern barbecue.
“The Carolina Hotel is Pinehurst’s most iconic inn, with a stately drive and formal landscaping,” said Bare. Dubbed “Queen of the South,” the Colonial Revival property appeals to travelers seeking traditional Southern grandeur. Bare also recommends The Holly Inn, Pinehurst’s oldest hotel, while some travelers prefer the intimate Magnolia Inn.
Golf dominates the discussion here, with the sprawling Pinehurst Resort alone currently boasting ten 18-hole courses—earning the nickname “Cradle of American Golf”—with Pinehurst No. 2 the centerpiece of the collection. One of the most storied courses in the world, it has hosted the U.S. Open, PGA Championship, and Ryder Cup. The Cradle, a 789-yard nine-hole course at Pinehurst Resort, is much lower-stress than 7,588-yard Pinehurst No. 2. “I love that you can squeeze a round into a shorter time, and the scenery is beautiful. Afterwards, you can lunch at the clubhouse or sit in rockers overlooking the course,” said Bare.
Even avid golfers concede the game is not always relaxing, but Pinehurst provides plenty of laid-back experiences. A visit to the spa on the grounds of The Carolina Hotel is one way to unwind, and Pinehurst Resort guests join lakeside residents for water sports on Lake Pinehurst. Strolling through the village shopping district is a pleasant diversion, and Bare cites Gentlemen’s Corner, Perle by Lola, and Cameron & Co. as charming, unique establishments. “The Village Wine Shop is a favorite place to catch up with my agents,” said Bare.

Ilovethatyoucan squeezearound into a shorter time, andthescenery is beautiful. Afterwards, you can lunch at the clubhouse or sit in rockersoverlooking the course.”

What was once a casual spread of sandwiches and fruit on a sun-faded blanket has evolved into something far more detailed, even cinematic. Today’s picnic is less about convenience and more about curation: a styled escape that transforms a patch of grass or a stretch of sand into a luxurious experience.
Across the country, a new wave of professional picnic designers are redefining the ritual, turning simple outdoor gatherings into immersive events. Think plush, layered textiles, coordinated table settings, artfully arranged charcuterie boards, and florals that feel plucked from a still-life painting. From sundappled parks to breezy beachfronts, these bespoke setups blur the line between leisure and occasion—proving that even the most
laid-back traditions can be elevated into something extraordinary.
What’s driving the trend isn’t just aesthetics, but intention. Modern picnic experiences are meticulously planned down to the last detail, with experts orchestrating everything from color palettes to menu pairings. Companies like The Luxury Picnic, The Hidden Date, and The Pretty Picnic offer fully realized scenes complete with low-profile tables, designer tableware, layered rugs, and ambient touches like candles and cushions. The result? A picture-perfect moment that feels both indulgent and effortless—an everyday outing reimagined as an event worth dressing up for.
It’s all about intention. Anordinarypicnicis functional—blankets, maybesomefood,call itaday.Aluxurypicnic feelsdesigned.The textures, the colors, thelayout.Everything workstogether.”
Liz Laub, TheLuxuryPicnicCo.

Charlotte Grau of The Pretty Picnic, which serves South Florida, shares that it’s all about the details. “Things like a cohesive setup, nice textures, comfortable seating and little touches like flowers, candles and decor make a big difference,” she said. “Even the way everything is arranged matters. It should feel intentional, not random.”
The Pretty Picnic styles picnics for parties, proposals, baby showers, brunches and more, and they give their clients “vibe options” that range from tropical to bohemian, coastal to romantic. Grau said people are drawn to luxury picnics for the ease and ability to enjoy the moment. “When you leave it to experts, you’re really just showing up to an experience that’s already been thought through for you.”
The Luxury Picnic Co. styles picnic celebrations of all types and sizes across Southern California. Whether it’s a corporate gathering in a park or a romantic, one-onone proposal picnic at the beach, curated packages include everything guests need. The extra touches—from outdoor games and custom signage to sandcastle building and live music—are the parts that can make your picnic extra special.
it a day. A luxury picnic feels designed. The textures, the colors, the layout. Everything works together.” She said a focus on the foundational aspects of a picnic are what can make a picnic exceptional: “You need a strong foundation—good rugs, solid low tables, comfortable seating—but what really changes the game is layering. Pillows, umbrellas, florals, table settings, all of it working in the same palette so it feels cohesive.” But even more than that, it’s an eye for detail that takes it over the top. “There’s the part people don’t always think about: comfort and flow. Enough shade, space to move around, a setup that feels inviting instead of crowded. It should feel easy the second you walk into it. At the end of the day, luxury isn’t just how it looks—it’s how effortless it feels.”
The Luxury Picnic Co., based in Southern California, created this pop-up picnic.
The Luxury Picnic Co.’s Liz Laub also attributed the appeal of luxury picnic planning to its stress-free nature. “People love the idea of a picnic, but once you start thinking about everything that goes into it—tables, rugs, décor, food, shade, setup, cleanup—it adds up fast. A high-end picnic (planner) takes all of that off your plate.” She also noted the experts are experts for a reason: “When you bring in experts, you’re not just getting a setup— you’re getting something that’s been thought through from every angle. We’re thinking about things like where the sun is going to hit, how the space will feel when guests arrive, how everything photographs, how people will move around. It’s all the little stuff that most people don’t have time to think about.”
The Hidden Date in Southern California creates memorable experiences with its perfectly planned, customized picnic offerings. Founder Daria Kovaleva is “obsessed” with finding secluded spots across L.A., hence the name of her business. She knows just where to go for a picture-perfect experience. People think luxury picnics are a snap to pull together, she said, but when it comes down to actually making it happen, the process can be overwhelming. The can-do approach starts to fade as the list starts growing: “Pillows, pillowcases, candle holders, silverware, florals, low picnic table—so hard to find a decent one— the list goes on. That’s where we come in, by taking care of all that and doing all the legwork [so they can] enjoy the entire experience. Better to catch that sunset with peace of mind, right?”
This luxurious event was envisioned by The Hidden Date in Los Angeles.
To take a picnic to the next level, Laub said “It’s all about intention. An ordinary picnic is functional—blankets, maybe some food, call
Kovaleva said a thoughtful, functional and stylish table with decor is the key to a fabulous picnic. “Without it, the setup will look ordinary.” She relies on elements such as extra candles, string lights and fairy lights for evening picnic setups. “People absolutely adore that twilight ambience they get once the sun’s down,” Kovaleva said. For midday to early evening picnics, florals are key to center guests’ attention, while a more underrated element, she said, is a boho-styled fringe umbrella, which can level up a picnic by making it look more private. “And, of course, soft pillows in different colors—forever and always.”

Snowy peaks and sub-zero forecasts are just a small piece of Alaska’s big picture. While the U.S.A.’s northernmost state has a reputation for extreme conditions and rugged living, the truth about Alaska is far more diverse than most non-residents realize. Not only does Anchorage—the state’s largest metro— consistently rank among the country’s most ethnically diverse cities, but Alaksa’s regions are composed of various indigenous groups, contributing to an array of languages, cuisines, art forms and more. Add to all this the awe-inspiring natural wonders of the state and its singular geographic location, and it’s easy to see why Alaska is a draw year-round—with summer being a particularly joyful time for exploration.
According to Connie Yoshimura, broker/owner, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Alaska Realty, there’s more
to the land known as “The Last Frontier” than most people realize. For one thing, it shares surprising similarities with the Lone Star State. “We have much in common with Texas because both states have significant oil and gas assets,” said Yoshimura, who has more than 40 years of Anchorage residential real estate sales experience under her belt. In fact, Alaska ranks sixth in the U.S. in daily oil production, but it dwarfs all other states in size (another surprise to those used to seeing it scaled down on the map): at 665,384 square miles of land and water, it’s over double the size of Texas.
While the more remote Juneau serves as Alaska’s capital, Anchorage functions as the main urban center, but is rooted in history and nature. “Anchorage is the commercial center for the state and is surrounded by

Kingsalmonfrom Alaksaisadelicacy in the fanciest restaurants in Seattle andotherpartsofthe U.S. due to the fact that it is wild and has auniqueflavorthat distinguishesitself from Atlantic salmon.”

the Sleeping Lady Mountain, Cook Inlet, and a large military base named JBER,” Yoshimura said. In addition to many walking and biking trails—including a popular hike to Flat Top Mountain, which overlooks the entire city skyline—Anchorage boasts an impressive mix of age-old traditions and modern innovation. “It has new, contemporary office buildings and, adjacent to Delaney Park Strip, it still has log cabins,” Yoshimura said. “Our historic snow igloos have been reinvented as contemporary ice sculptures, showcased every year in our downtown park.”
Alaska’s summer sights and sounds
While much of Alaska’s mainstream media representation tends to focus on snowy, subarctic conditions and endless winters, summer in the state is truly special—and residents know how to savor every minute. “On the summer solstice, we have 19.5 hours of daylight,” Yoshimura said. The city of Utqiaġvik, located north of the Arctic Circle, experiences about 84 days of “midnight sun” in the summer, allowing for round-the-clock sunlight. Yoshimura calls the sunsets over the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet “more beautiful than Hawai’i’s, and they last longer because the sun is slow to set.”
When it comes to food, art and culture, there’s no shortage of distinctly Alaskan attractions to appreciate in the summer months. Recognized as the halibut capital of the world, the city of Homer is known for incomparably fresh fish dishes. “Some gourmets consider it tastier than New England lobster,” Yoshimura said. Seafood fans will also revel in the distinctly Alaskan heritage of salmon fishing, with Ketchikan serving as the premier destination. “King salmon from Alaksa is a delicacy in the fanciest restaurants in Seattle and other parts of the U.S. due to the fact that it is wild and has a unique flavor that distinguishes itself from Atlantic salmon,” Yoshimura added.
Those on the hunt for an authentic Alaskan excursion have the option of exploring by land or by sea. “Adventurous visitors can now drive all the way from Anchorage to Prudhoe Bay, our largest oil field,” Yoshimura said. “They may even see a caribou herd grazing along the Alyeska Pipeline. Meanwhile, there are cruise ships docking in Whittier, Seward, and Anchorage—Southeast Alaska, and Sitka in particular, are popular cruise destinations.
Alaska’s awe-inspiring nature is a year-round draw for visitors.
Seafood fans will enjoy fresh fish caught from Alaksa’s beautiful waters.
Summer is the best season to spot humpback whales in Juneau.
It’s impossible to talk about Alaska’s highlights without giving a nod to the state’s abundant wildlife, which also loves to take advantage of the extended daylight hours. Not only is summer the best season to spot humpback whales in Juneau and bald eagles in Ketchikan, but it’s prime time to casually cross paths with major land mammals (safely, of course). “We have moose chewing on our apple trees and bears trying to rummage through our bear-proof trashcans, all in downtown Anchorage and the hillside,” Yoshimura said.
For visitors in search of a shopping spree, Alaska’s artisans produce one-of-a-kind handmade goods, ranging from ulu knives and qiviut garments to prints, pins and more. “Our native artists are recognized not only in Alaska, but in New York and Europe,” Yoshimura said. “Native bead making for earrings is a must-have memento for visitors.”
Whether you’re drawn by the lure of midnight sun, the majesty of the mountains, or the worldclass culinary scene, Alaska offers a rare blend of modernity and history for every summer visitor. “Despite our contemporary architecture, luxury homes, international art, and James Beard recognition for our seafood and bakery items made from hand-picked blueberries, Alaska remains a pioneer state where any resident can fulfill their lifestyle dreams,” Yoshimura said.

The 2026 World Cup won’t just be played inside stadiums—it will spill out into parks, waterfronts, cultural landmarks and entire neighborhoods. This summer’s tournament is poised to be the most expansive—and experiential—edition in history, with 104 matches and 16 host cities across North America. Throughout the U.S., major metros will reimagine what it means to “watch” the World Cup by transforming public spaces into immersive, design-forward celebrations of sport, culture and place. For the discerning fan, the most compelling vantage points may not be pitchside—but curbside, oceanside or skyline-adjacent.
From official fan zones with VIP experiences to five-figure hotel packages, here is a curated look at the most exciting—and often unexpected—places to enjoy the tournament in elevated style.
Houston Texas
In Houston, the official FIFA Fan Festival will offer an immersive soccer celebration for residents and visitors alike. Designed to reflect the city’s diversity and global spirit, the central hub will bring together local culture and international football fandom in one dynamic setting. It will be

held in East Downtown—also known as EaDo—a vibrant, walkable neighborhood with rich history, an eclectic mix of thriving businesses and a multicultural sense of style. A major component will be the Football Fiesta, honoring East Houston’s deep roots in the Hispanic community. The month-long festivities will energize the neighborhood and support EaDo’s continued growth, leaving an improved urban realm as a lasting community legacy. Whereas most of the offerings are free, those seeking a Texas-sized experience can shell out for the Legends Loft, a premium hospitality space with upgraded amenities, choice seating, curated food and beverage options, and enhanced viewing access for matches and stage programming.
Houston’s Post Oak Hotel—the only Forbes Double Five-Star hotel and spa in Texas, which boasts the largest penthouse suite in the U.S., complete with its own basketball court and steam room—is also offering a bucketlist World Cup guest experience. Starting at $15,000, the three-night stay includes everything from exclusive access to watch the games from the hotel’s private VIP viewing area, a dedicated World Cup concierge, and VIP tickets to the Houston Fan Fest. The stay also includes a private global dinner experience tailored by the hotel’s executive chef, Jean Luc Royere, as well as private roundtrip transportation to the match of your choice. During the tournament, the public is invited to visit the House of Friends Soccer Lounge, a fully bespoke game-watching venue lounge presented by Casamigos Tequila. Expect plush seating and multiple screens in a relaxed yet elevated setting.

In San Francisco, the World Cup action will be hyper-local. What distinguishes the Bay Area from the other tournament hosts is its distributed approach: there will be more than 30 fan zones across neighborhoods and waterfront enclaves—each with its own micro-culture and crowd. From downtown San Francisco to Santa Cruz, Oakland to San Jose and everywhere in between, dozens of venues will provide fans with access to free, public viewing experiences tailored to their local communities. Highlights include the San Jose Earthquakes’ opening weekend soccer celebration in San Pedro Square, and Pride House SF, which lets all visitors experience the joy of the World Cup through the spirit of the region’s LGBTQ+ community.
Boston’s Liberty Hotel is offering a “GOALden Legendary Experience”—a fully curated, match-day package that sets a new standard for tournament hospitality, starting at $25,000 per night, with a three-night minimum of $75,000. From a private helicopter transfer between Logan Airport and the match venue, to two premium seats, pre- and post-game hospitality, autographed jerseys, and a dedicated concierge to personalize every detail, this experience promises the most elevated way to enjoy the tournament in Boston. Guests will stay in the iconic Ebersol Presidential Suite, complete with a panoramic view of the city, an expansive patio, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
When it comes to lively festivities, Miami pulls out all the stops, and its official FIFA Fan Festival might just be the biggest of them all. It will transform more than 436,000 square feet of Bayfront Park into a global gathering place—a “second stadium” experience in the heart of the city where up to 30,000 fans per day are expected. Giant digital screens will broadcast matches throughout the tournament, while a 10,000-capacity amphitheater stage will host live performances, cultural showcases, and unique programming between games. Fans will engage with the game through communityled events and live entertainment that reflect the diversity, rhythm and energy of Miami’s neighborhoods. One of the most meaningful legacy experiences, Faces of Fan Festival, will capture the spirit of the moment through a large-scale interactive installation in which fans contribute their image and message to a growing visual collage—a collective expression of global fandom that will live on beyond the tournament as a symbol of connection, participation and shared experience.
Located in Downtown Miami, Kimpton EPIC Hotel is just a short walk from Bayfront Park, the city’s official World Cup Fan Fest headquarters. For the tournament, the hotel is planning a range of immersive viewing experiences that go beyond the typical sports bar setup, such as “copa cabana” poolside cabanas where guests can watch matches in a resort-style setting, and “copa social” viewing parties at Area 31 Lounge, featuring globally inspired cocktails tied to competing teams. Visitors will also be able to enjoy interactive elements like a “SubSoccer” bench activation in the lobby, and FIFA-themed art installations from the hotel’s artist in residence.
In a city with no shortage of internationallyinfluenced places to see and be seen, Miami’s Amazónico stands apart. With a strong presence in London, Dubai, Madrid and Monte-Carlo, Amazónico’s U.S. debut brings its iconic jungleinspired dining experience to Miami’s lively Brickell district. Fans will fill the stunning upstairs lounge for World Cup watch parties, all while enjoying the kitchen’s signature fusion of Latin American, Nikkei and Mediterranean flavors. Featuring indoor and outdoor dining spaces across three levels (its largest location yet), the Miami outpost offers a dynamic backdrop where international cuisine and world-class football come together.

In Los Angeles, The Original Farmers Market will serve as one of the most offbeat and festive places for watching the matches. A favorite among locals and tourists since 1934, the beloved market—which features more than 100 gourmet grocers and restaurants— will provide a distinctly LA backdrop, with matches watched communally in a historic public gathering space, surrounded by dozens of food vendors representing global cuisines. It’s the kind of environment where fans can move between screenings and stalls, eating their way across cultures while watching the world’s biggest sporting event unfold. At the center of the action will be one giant screen and viewing area.
Seattle Washington State
Seattle will offer one of the most inclusive backdrops for the tournament. In the lively Ballard neighborhood, the Rough and Tumble Pub—often cited as the country’s best women’s sports-focused gathering spot—will serve as a female-friendly spot for watching the games, while Capitol Hill’s Rhein Haus is a massive German beer hall that’s perfect for large groups of international soccer fans.
NYC fans looking to blow off some stress before or after watching the biggest of matches can escape to Recreation NYC. This retro-inspired Financial District hangout— think of it as a rec room at a fancy neighbor’s house—will be showing all the matches on its wall-to-wall screens while patrons interact with playful elements like an indoor basketball half-court, arcade games, and board games, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a lively clubhouse than a typical sports bar.
