St. Joan of Arc School Closing St. Joan of Arc School will close its doors at the end of this year. With only 77 students enrolled, it was financially impossible to keep it open without a drastic raise in tuition; costs would have had to increase by $1,500 to $4,800 next year for a single child. Declining enrollments and increased expenses made it impossible to continue the school. For the past several years, school families, parishioners, and the Diocesan Department of Catholic Schools had worked hard to avoid this day. Fortunately, there are several other Catholic schools in the area with faith-centered, academically excellent education capable of absorbing the student body. Some of these schools include St. Katharine Drexel, St. Louise DeMarillac, St. Thomas More and St. Ann’s.
