The Great Fall Cleanup! Friends of South Park Sponsoring Community-wide Effort On October 26, 2013 the Friends will sponsor South Park’s Great Fall Cleanup, a day to pick up litter in the County Park from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Volunteers will meet in the park at the South Park Museum Building by the Clock Tower to get their assignments. Volunteers of all ages and abilities may participate. Children under adult supervision are welcome. All volunteers should wear clothing appropriate for the weather, and sturdy shoes. Work gloves and garbage bags will be provided. While everyone is encouraged to pre-register; it isn’t required. To pre-register, contact Terry Tressler at 412-2512575 or tressler6@hotmail.com.
SHACOG Board Meeting Hosted by South Park Township The Township of South Park, hosted the August 22, 2013 SHACOG (South Hills Councils of Governments) meeting. South Hills Area Council of Governments or SHACOG, incorporated in 1973, is a voluntary organization of municipalities located primarily in the South Hills corridor of Allegheny county, Pennsylvania. SHACOG's purpose is to meet at regular intervals to discuss and study community challenges of mutual interest and concern. Members seek, by agreement, solutions to common problems for their collective benefit. SHACOG also coordinates and administers programs of regional interest that benefit member municipal governments. Municipalities in attendance - Whitehall, Baldwin, Bethel Park, Scott, Elizabeth, Mt. Oliver, Mt. Lebanon, Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills, Brentwood, and South Park.
