Butler’s Golf Course in Elizabeth Hosts Wounded Warrior Tournament

By Alice Harris Butler’s Golf Course in Elizabeth, PA played host to the Wounded Warrior Project Tournament on Monday August 3, 2015. General manager Tom Tokarski related that the World’s Largest Gold Outing (WLGO) was created in 2011 by Peter Hill, CEO of Billy Caster Golf, of which Butler’s is part. The Wounded Warrior Project was chosen as the WLGO’s charitable partner. They have raised over $2,000,000 to support programs to help injured men and women who come back Wounded Warrior Team (l-r) Robert Bush and from war survive and thrive. Of that, Butler’s Jerry Flecksten look on as Roger Stack tees off. Golf Course has raised approximately $24,000. This WLGO event was an 18-hole four person team scramble format. The registration fee included a $10 per player donation to WWP, green fee, shared cart, warm-up bucket, lunch, a WLGO logoed tote, hat, towel, golf ball and divot tool, and local prizes and awards ceremony followed the play. The day in support of wounded veterans was a lot of fun for the many golfers who participated.
