Kennywood, Sandcastle, and Idlewild Announce

Opening Days and Year-Long Lineup of Special Events

Kennywood, Pittsburgh’s Thrill and Entertainment Destination, will open for the 2023 season on Saturday, April 22 to continue its 125th Celebration. Sister parks Idlewild and SoakZone and Sandcastle Waterpark will open May 20th and May 27th respectively. All three parks have an exciting event lineup for the upcoming season, including new experiences and exclusive Passholder Perk Days.

• Kennywood will takeoff with the all-new 125th Celebration Weekends event, starting opening day, April 22. Daily summer operation begins Memorial Day weekend, along with the launch of Spinvasion, the first ride of its kind in the United States. Summertime will also feature the return of night rides with select 10 p.m. closes and an expanded Bites and Pints Food & Drink Festival in June and July. Plus, all-new exclusive Passholder Perk Days each month all year long. Phantom Fall Fest and Holiday Lights cap off the upcoming season.

• Idlewild and SoakZone will welcome guests and Passholders starting Saturday, May 20 with more family fun than ever before. SoakZone opens Memorial Day Weekend, then The Best Kids’ Park in the World debuts a revamped Kids Fest in June, Celebrate America during Fourth of July weekend, and Neighbor Days in July with expanded Daniel Tiger and his Neighborhood Friends meet-andgreets. The park will offer a series of Passholder Perk Days throughout the summer and the season will wrap up in the fall with the return of the popular HALLOWBOO!

• Sandcastle splashes on the scene Saturday, May 27 for Memorial Day weekend – Better, Brighter and Fresher than Ever. Jammin’ July returns with live entertainment poolside in July, plus the debut of new Passholder Perk Days all summer long. With stunning park enhancements, 16 water slides, 4 pools, a lazy river, and signature food offerings –Sandcastle is Pittsburgh’s Hometown Waterpark.

Pennsylvania Women Work Hosts One-Day Career Kick-Start Program

In-Person Career Development Workshop Designed to Help Local People Find Employment

PA Women Work has launched a new career development workshop, Career Kick-Start. This one-day, FREE, professional development event is designed to help job seekers boost their career search and find success.

This workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 7, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at PA CareerLink® Mon Valley, located at 570 Galiffa Drive, Donora PA 15033 and is free for all Pennsylvania job-seekers

PA Women Work is dedicated to helping job seekers rebuild their lives and find family-sustaining employment. For nearly three decades, the organization has empowered individuals with the tools and resources they need to find employment and stability through its life-changing career development programs. The new Career Kick-Start program offers an opportunity for those struggling to find employment to get assistance and critical career coaching in just one day. During the workshop, job seekers will get help revising or creating their resume, learn to apply for jobs that align with their skillsets, meet with a career coach one-on-one to discuss their goals, and practice interviewing with professionals. Participants will also be directly connected to employers.
