The MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is a postgraduate conversion degree, so your undergraduate degree and background can be in any subject. It is a partnership between us and you — we will give you the opportunities to gain deep knowledge, practical skills and meaningful expertise in data science and artificial intelligence, you bring your enthusiasm, determination and a willingness to learn and make the most of the opportunity.
We will begin by introducing you to the field of artificial intelligence, giving you an understanding of the breadth and the depth of the discipline, and the ethical dimensions associated with decision-making by autonomous machines.

During the course you will:
• Learn the art and science of computer programming enabling you to develop robust software solutions to real problems
• Understand how to represent and manipulate highly structured data in relational databases, and highvelocity, high-volume and high-variety “Big Data” in NoSQL databases
• Become an expert in data mining and statistical techniques to analyse data and deliver business insights. You will master the revolutionary techniques of deep learning, which is at the forefront of today’s AI arsenal
• Become adept at harnessing cloud computing to deliver AI and machine learning at scale
• Have the opportunity to apply your new skills and expertise on an extended project addressing a real business or research problem
The MSc degree is intended to make you ready for a career in data science and artificial intelligence and you should expect to be working with real data sets supplied by companies and organisations who are looking to you to provide data-driven evidenced answers to their important questions. The MSc is delivered at the University’s new DigiTech Centre, where you will have access to new state-of-the-art computing research laboratories. Located at Adastral Park, the DigiTech Centre is home to BT and over 100 high-tech companies forming the Innovation Martlesham cluster, part of the supporting network of industry collaborators (and perhaps one of them might be your future employer).
