ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES
The USW Centre for International English offers English language courses for students who do not meet the English language requirements for their course. These pre-sessional courses also help students develop academic and social skills in the university environment.
These intensive courses will improve your English and academic skills, and help you communicate in an English-speaking environment.
• Courses are taught by fully qualified and professional English language teachers.
• The programme you are offered will depend on your English level and academic qualifications.
• We even support students after their English course has finished. You will also be able to attend in-sessional English language classes free of charge, to support you throughout your studies.
• Courses are taught at our Pontypridd Campus.
• We strongly recommend you allow at least 10 weeks (300 hours of English) to improve your English level by up to one (1.0) IELTS band (or equivalent).
Entry requirements
• Applicants must hold an offer for a course at USW (undergraduate or postgraduate levels).
• Applicants must satisfy the English language requirements as detailed in the table below.
• International applicants must hold a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) IELTS, taken at an approved UKVI SELT IELTS centre.
