State of the College 2025

![]()

Dear Paul College Community,
The 2024–25 academic year unfolded against a backdrop of challenging headlines about higher education. While Paul College is not immune to these headwinds, I am proud to share that our community had a strong and inspiring year.
Paul College continues to be ranked the top public business school in New England for both Academic Experience and Career Outcomes by Poets&Quants. These rankings are based on alumni surveys, and our graduates rated their likelihood of recommending us a remarkable 9.4 out of 10. Their confidence in the value of a Paul College education speaks volumes.
We are committed to meeting the needs of today’s students and tomorrow’s workforce. This year we launched a minor in Real Estate and an option in Supply Chain Management both already seeing strong enrollments and graduates.
This fall we are introducing Path to Paul, a pre-business major that creates a pathway for students entering with three years of high school math to join Paul College and transition smoothly into a business major after their first year.
We also celebrated the 10th anniversary of our signature FIRE program (First-year Innovation and Research Experience). Thanks to the leadership of Saege Robinson and Julia Payne, FIRE continues to evolve and make an impact.

At the graduate level, we introduced two new online certificates that can be stacked into our Online MBA. Our Accelerated Master’s in Accounting program continues to thrive, with more than 90 students now enrolled made possible by the dedication of faculty and the generous support of alumni in the Friends of the MSA network.
Paul College remains a vibrant hub of activity. Student-run events—from sales competitions to the Women in Business conference—enrich our community and extend learning beyond the classroom. At the same time, our Small Business Development Center and CEO & Family Business Center continue to serve New Hampshire’s business community, engaging students in real-world consulting projects and strengthening partnerships across the state.
None of these achievements would be possible without our dedicated faculty and staff. I am grateful for the Gratitude Initiative, launched by our Paul Community Committee and supported by our professional administrative staff, which has celebrated the “unsung heroes” who make our work possible. Special thanks go to our associate deans, Vicky Parker and Lu Echazu, whose leadership and partnership are indispensable—and I am delighted they both will continue in their rolls.

As I reflect on the past year, I am proud of what we have accomplished together and excited for what lies ahead. Thank you for your continued commitment to Paul College and for all the ways you contribute to our community’s success.
All my best,

Lucy Gilson PhD, Dean, Paul College of Business and Economics
