NORTH FLORIDA WOMEN’S TENNIS | 6-STRAIGHT ASUN TITLES (NINE OVERALL)

2015: The Ospreys won its fourth-ever ASUN title

and started the new reign in the conference with a 4-1 win against FGCU in the ASUN Championship.

UNF took care of Lipscomb, 4-0, in the ASUN Championship Semifinals before winning the title on its home courts.

2016: The Ospreys ran the table in the ASUN, go-

ing 6-0 during the regular season before repeating the same path through the ASUN Championship. A sweep of Lipscomb in the semifinals setup a 4-2 victory in the ASUN Championship Finals against FGCU in Spartanburg, S.C.

2017: With a 4-3 loss to No. 1 seed FGCU in the reg- 2018: North Florida went 17-8 in 2018, posting a ular season finale looming over the shoulder of the Ospreys, North Florida turned the tables on the host Eagles with a thrilling 4-3 comeback win at FGCU in the ASUN Championship Finals. The win secured head coach Mariana Cobra her first of three ASUN titles.

5-1 mark in the regular season before claiming its fourth consecutive title. No. 2 North Florida dispatched Lipscomb with a sweep in the semifinals.

After enduring a long night and rain delays, the Ospreys outlasted Stetson, 4-1, behind strong play by its freshman to earn the 2018 title.

2019: The Ospreys faced a similar route to the title 2021: For the fifth time in six seasons, UNF and in 2019. Once again, rain pushed the Ospreys semifinal’s match with Lipscomb to auxiliary courts at Stetson. After a sweep, the Ospreys returned to face FGCU in the championship match. Despite having a commanding lead, FGCU evened it 3-3. Rafaela Gomez put the icing on her career by clinching.

FGCU met in the finals. The Ospreys handled the nerves, working past an hour-plus long rain delay to take care of business against FGCU and win the title, 4-2. Constanza Gorches capped a great career by clinching the match. UNF defeated No. 25 Ole Miss in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

CATHERINE DUNAGAN HEAD COACH (3RD SEASON) PRESBYTERIAN, ‘08 Hose upset Charleston Southern, 4-2, in the opening round to advance to the semifinals.

Catherine Dunagan was named the head women’s tennis coach in August of 2019.

Career Highlights at UNF Defeated No. 25 Ole Miss in the NCAA Regionals First Round (May 7, 2021) - 1st Win in the NCAA Championship in UNF DI History 2021 ASUN Coach of the Year - April 29, 2021 Won 2021 ASUN Championship - April 24, 2021 Reached 100-Career Wins April 23, 2021 Dunagan comes to UNF following one season serving as the associate head coach for women’s tennis at Furman University.

Prior to that, she had a seven-year stint as the head women’s tennis coach at Presbyterian College and another two seasons leading the Newberry College program.

In her season at Furman, the Paladins posted a 26-1 overall mark and perfect 7-0 SoCon record and concluded the season ranked 55th nationally. Furman, which claimed its third-consecutive and 19th overall Southern Conference title in 2019, put together a 23-match winning streak, the longest in Furman history. The Paladins, who climbed as high as 40th in the national poll, secured the SoCon’s automatic bid the NCAA Championships and earned a No. 3 seed in the tournament for just the second time in program history.

Additionally, Furman had individuals ranked in both the singles and doubles polls during the season, including SoCon Player of the Year Katarina Kozarov, who was ranked as high as 30th and was 67th in the final poll, and the Furman doubles duo of Kozarov and SoCon Freshman of the Year Julia Adams, who rose as high as 40th in the rankings. Freshman Madison Dillon also earned a national singles ranking during the season.

Prior to her time at Furman, Dunagan served as the head women’s tennis coach at Presbyterian for seven seasons. The winningest coach in Division I program history at Presbyterian, she amassed 74 wins at the helm of the Blue Hose program and achieved the first three winning seasons in Division I history in 2015, 2017, and 2018. She led Presbyterian to its first Big South Conference tournament victory in 2018, as the Blue

In 2017, under Dunagan’s tutelage, Tracy Johnson became the first Blue Hose player to earn All-Big South first team accolades after posting a 14-7 record. At the 2017 ITA Regional Championship, Dunagan coached Beth Taylor and Brittany Nuttall to victories over Davidson and Elon as the Blue Hose duo reached the round of 16.

Prior to her time at Presbyterian, Dunagan spent two seasons as the head women’s tennis coach and compliance coordinator at Newberry.

A native of Opelika, Ala., Dunagan earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in mathematics from Presbyterian in 2007. A four-year letter winner for the Blue Hose, she played in the No. 1 singles and doubles position, leading Presbyterian to four-straight conference titles and a 24-1 league record during her career. A four-time All-Southern Atlantic Conference (SAC) selection, Dunagan was honored as the SAC Tournament MVP as a senior. She also earned the Greek Athlete of the Year award as a Zeta Tau Alpha member during the 2006-07 season.

Dunagan and her husband, David, a native of Gainesville, Ga., who is a 2008 Presbyterian graduate, have two daughters, Ellis and Sloane.

ANASTASIA REIMCHEN ASSISTANT COACH (1ST SEASON) IOWA, ‘18

Anastasia (Nastia) Reimchen joined the UNF women’s tennis staff as assistant coach in August of 2021.

Born in Germany, Reimchen moved to England at four years old before growing up and earning the opportunity to play collegiately at the University of Iowa.

In Iowa City Reimchen earned a No. 47 and No. 49 national ranking in doubles play. She also racked up a series of accolades, including the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, Grinder Award and Iron Hawk award.

Reimchen competed predominately at the top doubles slot, while also earning time at the second and third slot.

She also picked up nine singles victories in addition to 56 doubles triumphs.

After her days as a Hawkeye, Reimchen moved on to play on the ITF Pro Circuit, training largely in Boca Raton, Fla. Reimchen graduated with a bachelor’s in English and is fluent in German, Russian and English. She will be pursuing her master’s in communication at North Florida.

ANA ROMAN-DOMINGUEZ VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH (3RD SEASON) USF, ‘19

Ana Roman-Dominguez joined the North Florida Women’s Tennis coaching staff in June of 2019 after a successful fouryear playing career at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Roman-Dominguez was a three-time All-American Conference selection, helping the Bulls earn a conference title and three finals appearances. During the 2016 season she was tabbed AAC Freshman of the Year, and in 2019 she picked up three player of the week honors.

Roman-Dominguez helped the Ospreys to the 2021 ASUN Championship title as well as the program’s first win in the NCAA Championships during its DI era. That same year UNF swept the ASUN superlative awards.

Other Individual Accolades: Ranked No. 36 in the nation (singles) Nominated Woman Athlete of the Year by the NCAA in 2019 Team captain (2018, 2019) She also brings with her youth tennis coaching experience having taught private tennis lessons in Spain and during her time at USF. A native of Burgos, Spain, Roman-Dominguez graduated from USF with a bachelor’s in business management and is currently pursuing a master’s degree from UNF.
