The Winter Paradise C

hoosing a theme for an issue is one of the trickiest things, especially whenwhen you run things, especially out ofyou ideas. run out of ideas.

YOU Newsletter likes to celebrate seasons, and so do I. So my question was: what winter theme to pick for this issue? To be fair, many themes can be associated with winter like “winter wonderland, the festive season, and new year.” However, to stay away from the obvious and to keep it unique and fancy, it's such a tough job.

I made a poll to let people suggest the winter theme themselves.

And so, followers seem to like the “Winter Paradise” title more than others. You know what? I think it has a good ring to it, too.

It turns out that winter paradise is an actual thing. So what is it?

Oh, where to begin? There is actually a novel called “Winter in Paradise,” by Elin Hilderbrand. In 1953, there was a short documentary called “Winter Paradise,” which was nominated for an Oscar.

Not only that this title gets the attention of literature and cinema, but there is also a festival by this name. Have you heard of the Amsterdam Winter Paradise festival? It is an annual winter festival that includes lots of winter activities.

Jeddah City never fails us when it comes to events all year long. Something is always happening around town, from sports, entertainment, music or cinema. On a global level, the biggest event of the year would be the FIFA World Cup, which took place in Qatar. Let’s flashback to YOU’s favorite events.

Rage on the Red Sea

Optical Illusion

A historic heavyweight boxing event titled ‘Rage on the Red Sea’ was held at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah from the 20th of August until the 22nd of August.

Optical Illusion is a new innovative event in Jeddah that took place from 8 September until 11 November.

Professional boxer Oleksandr Usyk won over Anthony Joshua in the rematch, which was viewed by a crown of about forty thousand.

‘Rage on the Red Sea’ is the second international boxing fight in the kingdom.

The place was an excellent all-family venue to experience and widen their imaginations. The event included five zones such as Winterland, Underground, Optical Illusion, Candy Land, and Fun Corner, in addition to a lounge and cafe.

The 2nd Red Sea Film Festival With stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Sharon Stone, and Priyanka Chopra, the 2nd edition was definitely a success. It was Followed by the Vanity Fair dinner gala “Women in Cinema,” enriching talks, premieres, and finally, the Awards Ceremony.

Taking place at one of the most luxurious hotels in Jeddah, The Ritz Carlton, it was epic.

This is Balad Beast

Jeddah Book Fair is Back Jeddah’s MDL BEAST, Balad Beast, kicked off with its historic cultural spirit, vibrating music, and mindblowing display of lights.

The event witnessed great attendance from day one.

There are five stages to entertain your ears, such as Mirkaz, Omda, Roshan, Souq, and Bab square.

There are a variety of lineup artists' names like Kayan, Dish Dash, Klinish, DJ Viva, R3hab, and DJ Jazzy Jeff, among many others.

Remember the first comic con event that arrived in Saudi? Comic Con was back in town. It was held from the 20th to the 22nd of October at the Jeddah Convention Center.

It is the place for film, comic, and anime lovers.

The event also includes a meet-and-greet with your favorite celebrities, an art display, cosplaying, and more.

The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission opened Jeddah’s Book Fair on the 8th of December. Then it continued until the 17th of December.

The book fair took place at the Superdome and included 600 publishing houses. There were also workshops, seminars, talks and theatrical shows.
