Underground Hip-Hop Magazine had a chance to catch up with Ambition "The Kid" and he had to say this.
Thanks for stopping by and we are happy to have you. Before we start getting into it please let our fans know where to follow your day-to-day activities?
You can follow me on any Social Media @AmbitionTheKid or my Website at OfficialAmbition.com
You formerly were a member of the group Pretty Ricky. What made you go solo? I have always wanted to be a solo artist and follow in the footsteps of artists like Michael Jackson, Usher, Justin Timberlake, and Chris Brown. But why I left Pretty Ricky is a whole other story that I am preparing to talk about soon but it is a little more complicated of a situation.
Your new video "Imagine" what's the goal behind this record how did you put it together? Imagine is about a relationship coming to an end. But instead of dwelling on all the bad that brought us to this end, my message in the song is to look at all the good in the relationship and imagine how it could have been. Breakups are always hard and I have been through it so I take my feelings about it and pour it out on the page, but I wanted people to be able to look back on the positive and appreciate that time and also learn from the negative.
Now you have worked with a few big-known celebrities and major labels, what has that taught you as you chase this Independence grind?
Being Independent is a lot harder without the machine behind you. It requires a lot of extra work and for you as an artist to wear a lot of hats. But if you believe in your craft and what it is you’re doing, you can gain so much more on your own. You just have to do the work and a little luck doesn’t help either. When I left Pretty Ricky I had to start over
As you know we deal with a lot of underground artists. With that being said, for someone like you who's working with major artists, what advice can you give someone trying to reach their dreams?
Investing in yourself is the most important investment you can make. Believing in yourself and your self-worth is important to accomplish anything worthwhile. I know sometimes it’s a risk and you may have people around you saying that you may not get to where you want to get. But if you truly believe in whatever it is you do, invest your time, money, and resources into that thing and bet on yourself. If you don’t you will regret it later in life.
What's the goal for 2024?
My goal is to regain all the fans that I lost when I left my former group and let them all know about my album The Phoenix Project. Also to push my song Imagine out there and another song that I am proud of called Saddle Me Up.
As new people come to follow you, what's the biggest support you need for new fans and new followers to do?
I would love for new fans to just listen and enjoy the music. If you like it then please share it with your friends and family. This grind is a hard one and I know there is a lot of new music coming out every day so I appreciate any support given from anyone including you guys for taking the time to interview me. Why should they come to get at you?
First, because the music is great. I have made hundreds of songs in the past years just waiting to write the right songs that were worthy to be on an album titled The Phoenix Project. Now that I have them I think people will truly love them and they have the potential to last through time. Second, because I love to entertain. I have so much to give to my fans besides music. I have written 2 fiction novels, I am starting a relationship podcast soon and once they see me on stage, it’s over. So please stay tuned. Things are about to get real and I don’t want anyone to miss a thing.
Is there anything else you want our fans to know or anything we left out?
I just want them to know that I appreciate all of you and also that if you have a dream, no matter what it is or how hard it may seem to reach, start working on it right now. Do the work and I promise you, you will make it far. You just need to have Ambition

Be sure to go follow our cover artists ASAP Instagram Drprince4ever1 and Nicholas Cedano Facebook. We did this in reverse order, but at Underground Hip-Hop Magazine, we don't follow trends. Our next artist, Nicholas Cedano, is a trendsetter in the art world. He discovered his love for drawing at the age of five and continues to pursue it.
Why feature him in a Hip-Hop magazine, you may ask?
Well, as Nicholas Cedano told us, "he has loved art since day one. It is his passion, and he believes that Hip-Hop is also an art form within itself, music, culture, and street graffiti. They all go hand in hand." He also believes that many people will appreciate his unique talent in art. If you need any artwork done, please contact him as soon as possible. He can create photos, mixtape covers, album covers, or anything else you may need. He places great importance on faith and believes that God does not make mistakes. His goal is to continue doing what he loves and eventually make enough money to donate to children who have cancer or have overcome it, as no child should suffer. Please take the time to check out his work, and if you need any artwork, he is the person to contact.
