There are four Certified projects in North Dakota. 8 | JLGedu Benefits of LEED 速 Platinum

FUN FACTS by THE NUMBERS • North Dakota is ranked 51st in Energy Conservation Measures Source: The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy, October 2010 report • North Dakota is ranked 50th in US ranked by Total Number of LEED Projects Source: US Green Building Council • There are about 50 registered* projects in North Dakota. (*Registered means projects indicate to the USGBC their goal to comply with LEED, but have not yet completed the documentation and certification process). • There are four Certified projects in North Dakota.  • One is Certified (NDSU) • One Silver (K-12 project) • Two Gold (K-12 project and an office building).  • NO PLATINUM • LEED Platinum in our Region: • Minnesota = 7 LEED Platinum projects.  • South Dakota =2 LEED Platinum projects.  • Montana = 5 LEED Platinum projects.  • Wyoming = 2 LEED Platinum projects. • Iowa = 4 LEED Platinum projects. • Wisconsin = 13 LEED Platinum projects. • None of the above State’s Platinum projects are certified under the new LEED 2009 rating system for New Construction or Major Remodels. Therefore, the UND Gorecki Alumni Center could be one of the first in the Upper Midwest Region with this distinction. JLGedu Benefits of LEED ® Platinum | 9
