The university recognizes the essential role living on campus plays in the Brave Experience. Thus, freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus. UNC Pembroke has five traditional residence halls and two apartment communities for students to call home. All students residing on campus benefit from the guidance and leadership of resident advisors and professional housing staff dedicated to ensuring you have an exceptional residential experience.

The First-Year Residential Experience, also known as FYRE, is a program designed to provide you with a dynamic cocurricular experience intended to help you connect and engage with other first-year students living in the residence halls. Learning Communities: groups of students with shared interests, major or career goals who attend classes and cocurricular events together. This supportive environment helps you establish relationships with faculty and staff, build friendships with fellow students and achieve your academic and personal goals. Whatever ails you, the providers at Student Health Services are committed to providing affordable, accessible and high-quality health care services to students. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides clinical mental health services to support the well-being and academic success of students. Counseling is available to all students without session limits or cost. The CARE Resource Center includes an on-campus food pantry and professional clothing closet. Students are welcome to visit the pantry twice per month.

The James B. Chavis University Center is our campus hub. Whether you

LET’S GO, BRAVES! UNC Pembroke participates in Division II athletics and is home to sixteen teams, there is almost always an opportunity to cheer on our athletes or have a dance-off with BraveHawk. And, as a student you have access to it all with your Braves Card!
Students at UNC Pembroke can find culturally enriching events throughout the year. Givens Performing Arts Center annually provides an exciting season of performances. Past productions include Cirque Mei, The Color Purple and The Three Musketeers. Across campus, you will find musical performances, art shows, speakers and so many opportunities to engage.
