IMMERSE YOURSELF

IN A WORLD OF SCOTTISH LUXURY:

WORLD-CLASS GOLF, INDULGENT SPA TREATS, SUMPTUOUS DINING AND NATURAL BEAUTY... ALL JUST WAITING TO BE EXPLORED DURING YOUR STAY WITH US

A warm welcome

We are delighted to welcome you to the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa, and indeed to the historic town of St Andrews. We are lucky to be just yards away from our namesake and, more specifically, its 17th hole – widely regarded as one of the world’s trickiest but most rewarding par-fours. For this is the spiritual home of golf, where the game was first played more than 600 years ago. We’re also a crisp tee shot away from many other legendary courses.

But there’s far more to this handsome corner of Fife than bunkers and birdies. Here at the resort you’ll find the stateof-the-art Kohler Waters Spa (currently in its final phase of refurbishment), impressive fitness facilities and incredible restaurants and bars. The stunning West Sands Beach is on our doorstep and St Andrews continues to live up to its reputation as one of the world’s most storied and charming university towns. There really is something for everyone. We hope you have a wonderful stay.

Afternoon Tea

At Road Hole Restaurant, our pastry chefs have put their own delicious twist on afternoon tea, with a whole new selection of exquisite delicacies. If you can’t decide which of our single-origin teas to try, we recommend the Old Course Hotel Signature Blend – and, to make the occasion extra-special, a glass or two of Champagne!

The Duke’s Bar & Restaurant

The award-winning clubhouse at The Duke’s course, set in a Scottish country estate, is the ideal spot for a post-round pint, a family lunch or a pit stop while walking the dog. Hungry golfers can enjoy the “Wee Bùth” Halfway House Menu after nine holes.

Hams Hame Pub & Grill

Fried chicken and football or smash burgers with the snooker? Located next to the 18th green of the Old Course, Hams Hame is all about friendly rivalries, ice-cold beer, family gatherings and classic British food done well. The pub caters for all ages, and four-legged family members are welcome too.

Jigger Inn

One of golf’s most iconic 19th holes, this historic building dates back to the 1850s. Today, the charming pub is known for golfing memorabilia, delicious home-cooked classics and a tempting selection of Scottish beers. Don’t be surprised to see one or two famous faces.

SLICE YOUR WAY INTO GOLFING

HISTORY BY TRYING YOUR HAND AT ST ANDREWS’ WORLD-FAMOUS COURSES

– STARTING, NATURALLY, WITH OUR VERY OWN CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE

The Old Lady will forever be the jewel in St Andrews’ crown of championship links courses, but our own course, The Duke’s, certainly gives it a run for its money. Just three and a half miles from the Old Course Hotel, the Home of Golf’s only heathland course is one of the best in the UK, with stunning views of the town and West Sands Beach. Located on the picturesque high ground of the historic Mount Melville Estate, amid verdant woodland, gorse and heather, this is a risk-and-reward course for those who don’t mind throwing caution to the wind.

From the par-five Highland through to the nerve-jangling Ice House – with its own “valley of sin” – the course has been meticulously designed by Peter Thompson to suit every level of player. Expect plenty of bunkers and long, rolling greens. The Duke’s can play as long as 7,500 yards from the back tees and has hosted a number of elite amateur events – most recently the Scottish Men’s Amateur Open.

Now part of the prestigious collection of Kohler championship golf courses, which also includes the legendary Whistling Straits in Wisconsin, The Duke’s has an award-winning clubhouse bar and restaurant, a fully stocked pro shop, driving range, short game area, par-three loop and fleet of GPS golf buggies. RELAX AND UNWIND WITH A SIGNATURE TREATMENT IN OUR UNIQUE KOHLER WATERS SPA

Hotel guests can also enjoy complimentary use of the fitness facilities, including infrared sauna, the 20-metre lap pool, indoor hot tub, Technogym equipment and a wide range of classes such as Pilates, yoga, BoxFit, AquaFit and Floor Barre.

A stay at the Old Course Hotel is never complete without a visit to the renowned Kohler Waters Spa. Named as Scotland’s Spa of the Year 2024 by The Sunday Times, it is the only one of its kind outside the US. Currently undergoing its final phase of refurbishment, the spa is soon to become a truly world-class wellness destination. As the new spaces take shape, we continue to offer a curated selection of treatments, from stress-busting massages and indulgent rituals to rejuvenating facials. A temporary spa reception can be found in the hotel lobby. We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this closure, and we’re excited to welcome you back to our transformed spa in late summer 2025.

Shopping

YOU HAVEN’T COME THIS FAR TO GO HOME EMPTY-HANDED

To find out more about St Andrews, ask at the concierge desk or call 8004 on your in-room telephone.

Make your visit even more memorable with something to take home. The Pro Shops at the Old Course Hotel and at The Duke’s course are the only PGA-approved pro shops in town, stocking top-name golfing apparel alongside Old Course-branded accessories, including ball markers, bag tags and waterproof jackets (better to be safe than sorry!). We also offer a wide range of gift cards for everything from afternoon tea to spa days and golf lessons – a perfect present and a slice of Old Course Hotel living to share with friends and family. Look out, too, for our carefully curated selection of Lone Piper products: Scottish-inspired gifts including crystal, pewter and paintings, all made by local artists and artisans. Otherwise, head into town, where you’ll find a wonderful mixture of high-end boutiques and local crafts – and more than a few golf-inspired trinkets.

Explore

FROM MUSEUMS AND GALLERIES TO SAND DUNES AND COBBLED STREETS, SOAK UP THE ATMOSPHERE OF OUR HOSPITABLE, CULTURED TOWN

The Old Course Hotel is just a stone’s throw from the delights of St Andrews. While golf and academia remain its main attractions, there’s far more to the Auld Grey Toon than seminars and 7 irons. From farmers’ markets, museums, galleries and craft stores to a magical aquarium, not to mention distillery tours and ghost walks, St Andrews offers plenty to inspire and entertain. And in this most ancient – and welcoming – of Scottish towns, you’ll find a host of historic streets and buildings to explore.

To find out more about beach activities, ask at the concierge desk or call 8004 on your in-room telephone.

West Sands Beach is another integral part of the St Andrews experience. Backed by dunes and world-renowned golf courses –and perhaps best known as the setting for the opening scene of Chariots of Fire – this iconic stretch of sand is popular for walking, running and riding, as well as swimming and surfing in the sea. Expect the water to be bracing – or jeelit, as we like to say in these parts – even at the height of summer. Land yachting, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are also popular here, and the beach is a great place to pick up the Fife Coastal Path.

Almost two miles of uninterrupted sand are within walking distance of the Old Course Hotel.
