The 2024–25 academic year marked a significant moment for the University of Mary Washington, defined by national recognition, renewed purpose, and forward-looking investment. UMW climbed in the rankings, earning top-20 placements for internships and impact, student support, and town-gown relations—honors grounded in student experiences and reflecting the dedication of faculty, staff, and community partners. The University reaffirmed its commitment to the liberal arts and sciences as the foundation for adaptable, durable skills and values needed in a rapidly changing world. At the same time, UMW strengthened its mission through expanded experiential learning, the Life After Mary Washington initiative, facility upgrades, and revitalized campus spaces that support students and welcome alumni. As the region’s only four-year, degree-granting institution, Mary Washington continued to meet workforce and community needs, laying strong groundwork for an impactful future.
