WELCOME! UMS-Wright Summer Programs are an extension of UMS-Wright Preparatory School. We build on the mission of our school by providing academic, athletic, and creative opportunities that ignite new passions and foster current interests. Our 53-acre campus provides an expansive, yet inclusive environment that lays the foundation for encouraging children to challenge themselves academically, creatively, and physically throughout the summer. Welcome to UMSWright Summer Programs 2025! This summer, we will continue to offer full-time care through our Beginner (K3), Climber (K4-K5), Junior (1st-2nd), and Senior (3rd-6th) day camps. These run throughout the summer and can be registered for according to the weeks you need them. Additionally, we will offer over 50 academic, athletic, and specialty camps both familiar and new. Interested in mix-and-matching a day camp with another camp? Learn more about that on pages 18 and 19. We cannot wait for you to learn from our expert staff and dive head-first into both familiar and new experiences as we aim to provide your child with A Clear Path for Potential.

WELCOME TO DAY CAMP! UMS-Wright Day Camps provide a full day or half day of fun for your K3-6th grader. We welcome children outside of UMS-Wright that are five years old or older to join us!

THEMES Week 1 (June 2-6): Wet n’ Wild | Let’s splash into summer with this fun-filled water week!

Week 2 (June 9-13): Mission Impossible | Grab your magnifying glass… We are on the case.

Week 3 (June 16-20): Blast from the Past | What did kids enjoy doing back in the good ole days? Let’s find out during this dive into past decades.

Week 4 (June 23-27): Party in the USA! | Get ready for the 4th of July with this rockin’ party… USA style!

Week 5 (June 30 - July 2 short week) Music | It will be a tune-tastic week listening to and playing different genres of music.

Week 6 (July 7 - 11) When I Grow Up | Teacher? Engineer? President? What do you want to be when you grow up?

Week 7 (July 14 - 18) Games Galore | Challenge your friends to classic games and learn some new ones too.

Week 8 (July 21 - 25) It’s a Jungle Out There | Look out for snakes and tigers during this exciting adventure in the jungle.

BEGINNER DAY CAMP | RISING K3 With a structured week of fun, our new bulldogs will participate in circle time, experience water play, arts and crafts, rest time, centers, and more. Beginner Day Campers must be enrolled in UMS-Wright and be three years old by the first day of camp. Additional DHR paperwork is required for campers. Campers must be potty trained.

DETAILS Carpool Drop Off Morning drop-off is behind the Reynolds Building from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Our staff will walk your child from the car to camp. If this is your child’s first day joining us, you are welcome to park in a parking spot and walk them to camp, but we ask that after the first day, please let our staff walk them. This helps with the transition and the goodbye! Any arrivals after 8:30 should be walked to the Beginner Day Camp location.

Carpool Pick Up Afternoon carpool is behind the Reynolds Building from 3:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What to Bring Backpack or bag with nap mat or blanket and a change of clothes in case there is an accident. We will keep them in the room all week and return them to you on your child’s last day of camp. Please send a labeled water bottle.

Every morning: wear your swimsuit to camp with a cover-up and water shoes for water play! Bring a towel and a change of clothes. Please apply sunscreen to your child that morning before he or she arrives.

Junior and Senior Day Campers will play familiar and new games, problem-solve to conquer new challenges, and embark on Friday off-campus adventures. Campers will conclude each day with time at the pool.

DETAILS Carpool Drop Off Morning drop off is along the Mobile Street entrance in front of the 7th and 8th grade building from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Any arrivals after 8:30 should be walked to the Junior Day Camp location in the Dining Hall.

ACADEMIC CAMPS ACT Prep Course Rising 11th-12th Graders With an average composite score improvement of 4 points, this results-driven ten-day course is taught by master teachers and has helped hundreds of students earn scholarships to college by improving their ACT scores. This course will include skill review and strategies in reading, English, math, and science and also help to refine and practice timemanagement and test-taking strategies through multiple practice test sessions. All books included. $525 June 2nd-6th and June 9th-13th (two weeks) Session 1: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Session 2: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Physical Science Explorers Rising 3rd-6th Graders This hands-on camp focuses on physical science fundamentals. Campers will explore chemistry and physics concepts while using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Explorers will investigate topics from matter and chemical interactions to forces and energy through observation, experimentation, and analysis. $195 Monday, June 16th - Thursday, June 19th 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

K4 Camp Learn-A-Lot Rising K4 School's out.... Camp's in! Camp Learn-A-Lot combines various learning activities (phonemic awareness, letter recognition, oral language, fine motor skills, number recognition, and counting) that help students prepare for K4. $195 Monday, June 23rd - Thursday, June 26th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Algebra II Bootcamp Rising 9th-10th Graders Need to brush up on your algebra skills? Algebra II Bootcamp is a program designed to strengthen foundational algebra skills and prepare students for the more advanced mathematical concepts seen in Algebra II. Aimed at revisiting and reinforcing crucial algebraic concepts including basic functions, graphing, factoring, and inequalities. $195 Monday, July 7th - Thursday, July 10th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

K5 Camp Learn-A-Lot Rising K5 Learning is S’MORE fun with friends! K5 Campers will participate in lessons centered around early literacy skills involving phonemic awareness, letter/sound fluency, oral language, and handwriting. K5 campers will also work on developing foundational numeracy skills involving recognizing, counting, and comparing numbers using a conceptual approach. $195 Monday, July 14th - Thursday, July 17th 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

1st Grade Prep Rising 1st Graders Join us UNDER THE SEA for 1st Grade Prep Camp! We will be working on reviewing kindergarten skills and introducing first grade skills to make sure our first graders are ready to kick off the school year. We will work on engaging reading, writing, spelling, and math activities while having some FUN! $195 Monday, July 21st - Thursday, July 24th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

2nd Grade Prep Rising 2nd Graders Let's set your 2nd grader up for success with this reading, math, and grammar-focused camp. Students will use manipulatives, strengthen math fluency, and learn problem-solving strategies for various math tasks.

Campers will also work on applying spelling patterns to writing and understanding what they are reading. $195 Monday, July 21st - Thursday, July 24th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

3rd Grade Prep Rising 3rd Graders Get ready for 3rd grade in this fun-filled camp! We will focus on math, reading, and writing while participating in "hands on" and small group activities to help prepare your child for 3rd grade. THIRD GRADE ROCKS! $195 Monday, July 21st - Thursday, July 24th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

4th Grade Prep Rising 4th Graders We will review skills by engaging students in hands-on activities to solve math word problems, review place value, practice fact fluency, as well as reading, writing, and grammar skills. $195 Monday, July 21st - Thursday, July 24th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

5th Grade Prep Rising 5th Graders Let's ease those middle school nerves! Students will tour the middle school buildings, explore classrooms and the dining hall, walk through a mock schedule, and get answers to questions about middle school life while reviewing needed math, reading, writing, and grammar skills. $195 Monday, July 21st - Thursday, July 24th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Study Skills Rising 4th-5th Graders Come join us as we learn strategies to help you become the best student you can be! From study strategies and test prep activities, to building organizational and time management skills, you'll move into the new year a stronger and more confident student. $195 Monday, July 21st - Thursday, July 24th 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

ATHLETIC CAMPS Baseball Camp Rising K5-8th Graders UMS-Wright Baseball Camp will assist with hitting, catching, fielding, and base-running. Campers will learn strategies and perfect skills as they participate in baseball scrimmages. UMS-Wright Head Baseball Coach along with varsity staff and players will instruct. Camp will be held on Radcliff Field. Please bring your own baseball bat and glove. $135 Monday, June 2nd - Thursday, June 5th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Cheer Camp Rising K5-6th Graders Campers will be grouped by age and will learn and develop the fundamentals of cheerleading, including motion techniques, jumps, tumbling, voice projection, poise, and spirit! New cheers, chants, and a dance routine will be taught to each age group. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt to wear on the last day of camp when parents will be invited to a pep rally. $135 Monday, June 2nd - Thursday, June 5th 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Acing Archery Rising 5th- 8th Graders Campers will learn entry-level basic concepts of archery while focusing on safety and foundational archery skills. CAMP DETAILS AND POLICIES Waitlists Due to the popularity of many camps, waitlists do occur. To place your child on a waitlist, please email summerandauxiliary@ums-wright.org.

Cancellations and Non-Refundable Deposits Once you register for a summer camp, a non-refundable deposit of $25 will be scheduled to be charged to your FACTS account the week the summer camp starts. If you cancel prior to the registration deadline, you will receive all of your money back less the $25 non-refundable deposit. Any cancellations after the deadline will result in no refund. Your last chance to cancel for each summer program and to receive any money back is by the deadline.

Switching If you need to switch your child from one camp to another, please email summerandauxiliary@ums-wright.org. There are no guarantees we can accommodate requests for switches due to staffing, supplies, facilities, and waitlists, but we will try our best. We will be unable to honor any switches after the deadline.

Registration Deadlines The registration deadline is the Wednesday prior to the start of each camp. This revolving deadline helps us adjust for staffing, ensure billing is correct, and fill spots in case of waitlists.

Payments All UMS-Wright Families will be billed through their FACTS accounts. All families outside of UMS-Wright must pay via check. Checks can be mailed in advance to the following address, or checks can be dropped off in the Column's Office the morning of the first day of camp. Please make all checks payable to UMS-Wright and mail to: UMS-Wright | Sarah Forwood | 65 Mobile Street | Mobile, Alabama 36607 Extended Care Extended Care runs from 3:30-5:30 daily. Children not picked up by 3:30 will be sent to Extended Care. Extended Care costs $12 per hour and is billed monthly, similarly to how it is billed during the school year.

Early Care Early Care will take place from 7:30-8:15 and is offered to campers attending camps that do not begin until 8:30. Early care will be billed similarly to how it is billed during the school year, which is $12 an hour. You will only be charged for the minutes your child is in attendance. If your child is dropped off prior to 8:15 for an 8:30 camp, he or she will be sent to early care. Early care will be billed monthly.

Late Dropoff or Early Pickup Procedure If you will be dropping off your child late or picking up your child early, please communicate that directly with the person in charge of the camp via email in advance. The head of each camp can give you directions on where to drop off your child if you are late, or where to pick up your child if you are early. Due to the number of camps going on each week, communicating directly with that camp leader is best.

CAMP DETAILS AND POLICIES CONTINUED Complete My Day: How It Works Below are the ways you can use our “Complete My Day” Day Camp (CMD) option: Scenario 1: M-Th Morning Camp + Complete My Day: Afternoon This child would be dropped off between 8:15 & 8:30 to attend M-Th Morning Camp from 8:30-11:30, and a staff member would ensure this child is transported to lunch with the day camp. This child would spend the remainder of the day with day campers until 3:15-3:30 pickup. Lunch and afternoon popsicles are included. In this scenario, your child gets a full Friday of Day Camp.

Scenario 2: Complete My Day: Morning + M-Th Afternoon Camp This child would be dropped off between 7:30 & 8:30 to attend Day Camp through lunch, and a staff member would ensure your child is transported to the M-Th Afternoon Camp by 12:30. This child would spend the remainder of the day with the M-Th afternoon camp until 3:15-3:30 pickup. Morning snack and lunch are included. In this scenario, your child gets a full Friday of Day Camp.

Scenario 3: Complete My Day: Morning Only This child would attend Day Camp from 7:30 through lunch. Pickup is 12:00p.m. in the dining hall. Morning snack and lunch are included.

Scenario 4: Complete My Day: Afternoon Only This child would attend Day Camp from 11:30-3:30. Dropoff is at 11:30a.m. in the dining hall. Lunch and afternoon popsicle included.

Mix and Matching a M-Th Morning Camp with a M-Th Afternoon Camp This child would be dropped off between 8:15 & 8:30 for the M-Th Morning Camp, and at 11:30, a staff member would transport the child to lunch bunch in the dining hall.

This child must be registered for lunch bunch: bring your own lunch, or lunch bunch: lunch included in order for them to get to stay on campus for lunch. At 12:15, a staff member will transport the child to their afternoon camp. This child would not attend any camps on Friday, and we do not offer drop-in Friday for day camp. If a child is not signed up for lunch bunch, a parent must pick up him or her at morning camp carpool at 11:15-11:30 and bring him or her back for afternoon camp dropoff at 12:15-12:30.

Lunch Bunch and When to Use It Lunch Bunch Lunch included costs $35 per week and Lunch Bunch Bring Your Own Lunch costs $20 per week. Below are the ways you can use our lunch bunch option: Mix and matching a M-Th morning camp with a M-Th afternoon camp – see section above.

M-Th Morning Camp + Lunch Bunch – Our staff will transport your child from morning camp to lunch bunch. Pickup is at 12:00p.m. in dining hall.

Lunch Bunch + M-Th Afternoon Camp – Dropoff is at 11:30a.m. in dining hall. Our staff will transport your child from lunch bunch to afternoon camp.

Do not sign up for lunch bunch if your child is registered for complete my day or full day camp because lunch is already included.

Drop-In Days UMS-Wright does not offer drop-in days for any camps.

Lost and Found The Summer Camp lost and found is located outside of the lower school office. All items remaining in the lost and found will be held for the summer. Items in the lost and found after the last week of summer camp will either be donated to charity or discarded. We encourage you to label all of your child’s belongings.
