To anticipate is to look forward to, to foresee and act in advance of. The experience of anticipation is colored by whether or not the thing anticipated 1) is desirable or dreadful, and 2) is certain, probable, or remotely possible.
How good it is to look forward to something both sweet and sure! We draw strength and refreshment even before the thing is upon us. So it is with such things as sunrise, spring, or semesterâs end!
