The Symphony Art Venue in Naxal, Kathmandu, seamlessly blends tradition and innovation. Its contrasting neo-classical gem and bold brutalist addition epitomize architectural duality. From serene courtyards to starlit nights, the museum harmonizes design and history in a captivating symphony.
AN ART MUSEUM
A point of divergence offers visitors two museum circulation options, each providing a distinct experience despite shared content. The way one perceives views impacts the overall experience.
The museum entrance lobby showcases a central art piece designed to evoke an illusion of two dancers. This captivating installation employs a gentle breeze to lift two silk fabric pieces, one black and one red, crafting a mesmerizing visual spectacle.
The basement of sita bhawan, once a prison where tragic incidents occurred, now functions as a horror museum displaying those events.
The Artificial Pond functions as a micro-climate controller
The staircase linking the basement parking and museum lobby.
A staircase linking the first and top floors is ingeniously designed to allow visitors to appreciate both the ground floor lobby view and the elegant dancing silk display.
A circular staircase links the building’s top floor to the open roof of baal mandir. Visitors can enjoy the terrace before descending to the restaurant on the baal mandir’s top floor via the same staircase.
The tunnel running beneath the artificial pond hosts a stunning caustic light effect.`
