Erek Barron ’96, English, was nominated by President Joe Biden to serve as U.S. attorney for Maryland.
Honors Humanities student Megha L. Rajagopalan ’08, journalism, was part of a BuzzFeed News team that won a 2021 Pulitzer Prize, journalism’s highest honor, in the International Reporting category. Elizabeth DeLoughrey Ph.D. ’99, English, was awarded a 2021 Guggenheim Fellowship. DeLoughrey, a professor in the English Department and the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability at UCLA, is the founder of the UCLA Postcolonial Literature and Theory Colloquium and coeditor of the interdisciplinary open access journal Environmental Humanities.

Kyla McMillan ’11, art history and archaeology, became director of David Zwirner, one of the largest galleries in the world with locations in New York, London, Paris and Hong Kong.


Noelle Roy ’16, public relations and theater, got a shout-out at the Oscars for her work as a publicist for the short film “If Anything Happens I Love You,” a moving depiction of grief in the aftermath of gun violence that won Best Animated Short Film.
