we’re bringing non hormonal birth control to the market 1

Sublima is a female-led pharmaceutical startup launching the first non-hormonal birth control pill in the U.S. We believe all women deserve what’s best for their bodies- and that starts with eliminating the nasty side effects associated with hormonal birth control. We’re building a community to educate and empower women to speak up when it comes to their healthcare, and we’re providing a solution to the age-old hormonal contraceptive issue. 2

Hormonal birth control works by disrupting female sex hormones. Sex hormones influence everything from attraction to stress, eating patterns to emotional regulation, and even learning ability. The Pill, in particular, shuts down the production of estrogen, a hormone present in the menstrual cycle responsible for wonderful things, like making us feel sexy and energetic. It’s also been linked to mental health concerns, with women being 23% more likely to be prescribed an antidepressant when on the combined birth control pill. Understanding the potential side effects is important in order to make the right choice for your body. 3

“a misconception is that the pill can fix issues like acne and PMS. In reality it’s just a bandaid masking symptoms of a bigger issue.” - Keiana Cave, founder

4

the pill is a symbol of bodily autonomy. A milestone in women’s rights and a daily reminder of your choice and control over your reproductive freedom. Such a product deserves to be celebrated, not hidden under a veil of pearls, daisies, serifs and other delicate marketing metaphors.

5

Since the 1960s, the Pill’s packaging design has prioritized discretion and ambiguous visual language, reinforcing the stigma that products like birth control should remain hidden. Inspired by this lack of fundamental change, Sublima’s packaging frontlines education and product clarity, dismantling the narrative that a person’s agency over their reproductive health should be private. By utilizing a dispensing mechanism, ergonomic design, and bold and direct visuals, this packaging empowers users to not only reclaim, but celebrate, their daily contraceptive routine. 6

how to use/refill The dispenser has been designed to be reused. However, if you would like a refresh, you can always opt to buy a new one. To use your new dispenser, simply push the top for a pill to be dispensed. The window at the side will keep track of your cycle day. The dispenser will automatically start at 1, but can be adjusted manually. 8

To refill your dispenser, pinch the red interior and pull upwards. The interior will click and then can be removed.
