Ulu Swim Ulu Swim’s debut collection of swimwear was launched by Ashley Chase on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, Summer of 2010
Mission Statement Ulu bikinis are made to look, feel and perform great- holding their own whether you’re catching waves or rays. Inspiration for the line draws from a bohemian beach lifestyle. With their cheeky cuts and punchy prints, these suits are a unique expression of the two islands within which they were produced. The Ulu Swim line is designed in Martha’s Vineyard and handmade in Bali, Indonesia. This collection is the work of artisans, not sweatshops, with a portion of the proceeds going towards community development for the Balinese.
Designer Bio I grew up on the ocean, in fact I was born a minute from it. My childhood was one of white-soled loafers and boat shows with dad. In high school, I’d cut classes to catch storm surf off Narragansett. Summers were spent on Martha’s Vineyard strutting down stretches of crowded beaches in search of a summer fling. My love affair with the coast, I aspire to articulate with this line.
