Leading the Way in Risky Play

Here at Peter’s Patch, we pride ourselves on leading the way on risky play. Using in the moment planning and risk-benefit assessment, our staff ensure that each child is given the daily opportunity to take suitable risks and learn through their experiences.

Each learning environment contains equipment which allow our children to test their boundaries, stretch their abilities and pursue their passions. Staff are on hand to scaffold language, promote opportunities for learning and support resilience when things don’t go as planned. Our enabling environments are safe and secure both inside and out, with the opportunity for lots of outdoor play throughout the day.

Time in nature is a passion of ours and all children across our facilities spend as much time outside as possible. Regular trips to Hillsborough Forest allow staff to stretch imaginations and offer new and exciting experiences to our children.

Is there really any better way to learn than through getting messy in play? We have Day Care, After School and Forest School options available so there really is something for everyone!
