New Programs. Cool Opportunities. Big things are happening at ULethbridge, and your students won’t wantto miss out. We have new programs and engaging ways for them to make the most of their university experience.
Bachelor of Education
Cinema and Media Studies
One application. Two degrees. A clear path to teaching. If your students know they want to teach, they’re in the right place. Our Bachelor of Education Combined Degrees program is now direct entry. They’ll know from day one they’re on your way to becoming a teacher while earning another degree with a different Faculty.
Your students can explore visual storytelling and media culture in our new Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and Media Studies program. They’ll analyze how film, TV and digital media shapes culture while creating their own projects with top-tier facilities and technologies. When they graduate, they’ll be ready to launch into the creative media world.
They can expect: • 27 weeks of meaningful teaching experience to build your skills and confidence in the classroom • A strong foundation in their teachable major combined with innovative teaching practices • Support from experienced faculty and dedicated field mentors throughout their program • The tools to support every learner and thrive in today’s classrooms
Integrated Pathway, General Management and Supply Chain Management We’ve partnered with Bow Valley College to give your students an edge in the business world. With our Business and Supply Chain Management pathway, they can earn a business degree and supply chain management diploma in four years. By graduation, they’ll be ready to step into real business roles. This program is offered at our Calgary campus.
Philosophy, Politics and Law We don’t shy away from big questions. We explore them from different perspectives. In our Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Law, they’ll dive into ideas about justice, power and society through real-world issues. They will choose a path that interests them, make their voice heard and build the skills to create meaningful change in law, government and beyond.
2
Research Internship Concentration Your students can turn their passion for science into hands-on discovery. In our Research Internship Concentration, They’ll work alongside faculty, explore real research projects, and learn how discoveries are made. They’ll build practical skills, gain valuable experience, and be supported every step of the way as they develop confidence in the lab and beyond. Eligible programs include Agricultural Biotechnology, Biological Sciences and Environmental Science.
Southern Alberta Medical Program Your students can help bring health care to communities that need it most. With the Southern Alberta Medical Program (SAMP), students from smaller communities have the chance to study medicine closer to home. The three-year UCalgary MD curriculum will be delivered onsite at ULethbridge and throughout southern Alberta, in collaboration between the two institutions. SAMP’s goal is to attract, train and retain future doctors who are deeply connected to communities in southern Alberta and prepared to serve them. go.uleth.ca/samp.
Early Start Experience Students can take a full-credit course before the start of the fall term called The First Year Experience: Mapping our Communities. They’ll build connections with other incoming students, develop skills and learn all about the resources and supports on campus.
Integrated Engineering Students in this new program will explore the possibilities of engineering through a program developed to provide a breadth of knowledge to train versatile engineers who can excel in multidisciplinary positions. Instead of focusing on just one field, they’ll become fluent in several engineering disciplines, build a broad set of technical skills and learn how to design solutions, work with others and manage projects. With hands-on labs and teamwork, they’ll get real experience solving real-world problems. In addition to fundamental engineering training, the program also includes business-oriented courses, including Innovation and Entrepreneurship and New Venture Start-ups. Through a partnership with Lethbridge Polytechnic, they’ll spend a semester at Lethbridge Polytechnic, providing even more opportunities for hands-on experiential learning on their path to an engineering degree. This flexible program opens the door to many different career paths, from working in exciting new industries to starting their own business.

Resource Guide 2027-28 | Additional Admission Routes
Additional Admission Routes Indigenous Student Success Certificate The Indigenous Student Success Certificate (ISSC) is a first-year credit program that provides Indigenous students who do not meet the general requirements of ULethbridge. It is an opportunity to enter and succeed at university. This program provides a solid foundation of core skills in a supportive cohort environment that attends to Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Learning. It is also open to Indigenous students returning to university after an absence and, as space allows, to those who qualify for general admission but want the supports provided by the cohort. Successful completion of the ISSC allows students to enter into most ULethbridge programs. Admission is on a caseby-case basis. For more information, contact ISSC Office at 403-329-2635.
Certificate in Arts and Science The Certificate in Arts and Science is a gateway for students to complete a university credential. To apply, students need a passing grade in English Language Arts 30-1 (or an equivalent), or they can access it through the Post-Secondary Admission Route. Students can test the waters of post-secondary education on a part-time or fulltime basis, choosing either an arts or science stream. At the completion of this 10-course program, they can apply to ladder their certificate into a degree.
Mature Student Admission Applicants who are a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, age 21 years or older, and who do not meet current admission requirements of any other admission route may be considered for Mature Student admission. Applicants who have completed high school requirements with an admission average of at least 60 per cent, or have a minimum grade of 65 per cent in English 30-1 or 30-2 and passing grades in two other 30-level courses will be considered for admission. For applicants who have
10
not completed high school requirements, a combination of academic credentials, standardized test scores, and evidence of life experiences may be considered. The applicant is assessed for potential post-secondary success, which is the standard of admission for this route. A resume and letter of intent are required for admission purposes. Additional advice is available from Admissions.
Open Studies Through Open Studies, an applicant can take courses without being admitted to a University program. It is a viable pathway to University for those who do not meet our general admission requirements.
Applied and Technology Degrees Applicants presenting applied or technology degrees from recognized colleges or technical institutes in Canada with GPAs of 2.0 or higher on the ULethbridge 4.0 GPA scale will be considered for admission to first degree, undergraduate non-quota programs. These applicants will be considered for admission to quota programs according to their qualifications. Transfer credit will be awarded according to regular ULethbridge procedures and policies, including those pertaining to residency, major and time limits. Applied and technology degrees are not normally considered to be a basis of admission for second degree or graduate studies programs.
Post-Secondary Admission
Diploma Holders
Applicants who have completed six or more transferable term courses at one or more post-secondary institutions will be considered as Post-Secondary applicants.
Students who complete a diploma from a recognized postsecondary institution may be able to complete a bachelor’s degree at ULethbridge in only two years. There are hundreds of post-diploma transfer agreements that make continuing education easy.
To qualify for general admission, Post-Secondary applicants must have an admission average of at least 2.0 on the ULethbridge 4.0 GPA scale, calculated on all transferable courses. Satisfactory completion of certain Alberta high school courses or equivalents is required for admission to some majors. See High School Admission Requirements by Program for quota and specialized program admission requirements.
Our website has a list of diplomas that transfer from national and international institutions. All admission requirements must be met to qualify for admission through the post-diploma pathway. You can find the Transfer Credit Equivalency Database at: go.uleth.ca/transfer-into-university
Upon admission, students are assigned transfer credit on a course-by-course basis for eligible post-secondary work. Transfer of credit may serve to reduce the number of courses which must be completed at ULethbridge in order to complete a program of studies. For detailed information on course-by-course transfer, including course equivalencies, see: go.uleth.ca/transfer-success

Resource Guide 2027-28 | Two Campuses and Master of Education
Two Campuses to Choose From Connecting ULethbridge with Calgary’s East Village, our Calgary campus has in-person and online instruction, and flexible delivery options on evenings and weekends. Students can enhance their skills, credentials and earning potential while working full-time. ULethbridge in Calgary offers flexible programs developed with the working professional in mind. Classes are offered in the evenings and on weekends so students can continue to work while they earn their degrees. The student experience on our Calgary campus is much different than on our Lethbridge campus; it is not intended to meet the particular social and services needs of new students direct from high school. Students from Calgary who attend classes on the Lethbridge campus may choose to take courses on our Calgary campus when they return for the summer break. We offer a wide variety of courses in a number of subject areas. It’s a way for students to ensure they stay on track (or get ahead) with their program. Our Calgary campus offers liberal education requirement courses in fine arts, humanities, management, sciences and social sciences. Visit ulethbridge.ca/calgary for program offerings. For information on specific majors and minors available at the Calgary campus, please visit
go.uleth.ca/calgary-programs
Students at our Calgary campus have access to services including academic advisors who can assist with program planning and give advice on changing majors; enrolment advising to help students explore their interests and choose a major; study skills presentations; and learning supports such as exam accommodations and assistive technologies. Apply for residence
Send your transcripts & documents
We are prioritizing first-year students for Fall 2027. They don’t need to be admitted yet, but they need to have applied to ULethbridge before applying for housing. Make sure they have their student ID number handy.
We need transcripts from all institutions they’ve attended. If they went to high school in Alberta and applied through ApplyAlberta, their transcript will be automatically sent.

We add important information to the student portal. We send applicants an alert via email to check the portal, so it is important for them to regularly monitor their accounts. If they change their email address, they need to update their contact information on their student account. Applicants can check their application status, including required documents, at any time by logging in to their student account. Students waitlisted for competitive programs are eligible to change their applied program online through their account. Completing a program change does not impact their spot on the waitlist, or their chances for competitive admission. It simply grants them the opportunity to be considered for two programs and ensure they start their ULethbridge journey in the fall.
Acceptance Deadline Applicants should submit their Confirmation of Admission by the acceptance deadline. If more time is needed, applicants should contact Admissions to determine next steps at admissions@uleth.ca. Confirmation of Admission To confirm their offer, applicants must accept their Offer of Admission and pay online via their student account. If applicants are unable to pay online via credit card, they need to send the form back to Admissions (signed and dated). A tuition deposit MUST accompany this form. Note: This deposit is in addition to the application fee that has already been paid and is non-refundable. Students who apply online do not need to send in the admission forms. Anyone who wishes to decline their offer can email admissions@uleth.ca.

Students are required to register in their own courses. They will be notified once the courses in the upcoming term are published. Then they can plan their term before registration opens, using the Bridge. bridge.uleth.ca
Timeframe Registration dates for the fall term are released on March 2 via email. A student can register on or after their assigned date, but earlier registration is better for course selection.
Program Planning Guides (PPGs) PPGs list all required courses and include a suggested sequence plan to complete the program. These guides are available online. go.uleth.ca/program-planning-guides
Registration Date This is the first day students can log on to their student portal to add courses to their class schedule. Students who accept their offer earlier register earlier. Registration continues until the end of the first week of classes. To assist students, we host online and in-person registration workshops. Contact info@uleth.ca.
Sexual Violence Prevention Training Sexual and gender-based violence undermines our values of diversity, equity and inclusion. ULethbridge was the first University in Alberta to require mandatory sexual violence prevention training for all students. Incoming students must take the 45-minute training course before they can register in courses for their first term.
Liberal Education List Requirement (LELR) All ULethbridge students must complete the LELR. This involves taking at least four courses from fine arts and humanities, social sciences, and sciences. The required courses in a student’s program typically fulfill some of this requirement, so the program planning guide, timetable, and Academic Calendar should be used to determine which additional courses should be taken. Refer to the current Calendar at the end of School of Liberal Education for more information at go.uleth.ca/academic-calendar.
