“One of the most impactful experiences I had applying my learning outside of the classroom was through an audit project where we conducted an audit evaluation on a real business. We worked directly with the business owners, which gave us the opportunity to ask questions and better understand their operations while assessing real-world risks and controls. Being able to connect audit theory to an actual organization made the concepts easier to understand and more meaningful. It also showed me how classroom learning can translate into real business practice.”
Whether studying on the Lethbridge or Calgary campuses, undergraduates can manage an investment portfolio currently valued at approximately $200,000 in our Centres for Market Research and Teaching, a financial “trading room”. It includes direct connections to global financial markets and guidance from external investment professionals, internal faculty members and legal experts, giving you practical experience that will prepare you for a career in the investment industry.
