Bridging to better business skills or a new career Accounting and finance professionals are recognized world-wide for their strategic thinking, financial expertise, business insights and leadership. The Dhillon School of Business offers three post-bachelor certificate options under CPA Bridging. Depending on your educational background, you can advance your career by adding accounting and business skills through the Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting Fundamentals, build on your existing accounting education with the Post-Bachelor Certificate in Advanced Accounting, or take both certificate options as one program with the Post-Bachelor Combined Certificates in Accounting. These certificates provide the competencies and experience you need to elevate your career and for entry into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP), one step at a time.

Wherever you start, you’ll receive practical, relevant and research informed instruction by our PhD and CPA qualified faculty. You’ll learn to visualize and analyze data that influences real business decisions with data analytics technology, learn to solve accounting and business cases, and gain the technical competencies that form the foundation for your future career and studies.

Our program is also flexible and tailored to ensure the most direct route to your future career. You study only the courses you need at a pace that works for you. With evening and weekend classes in Calgary and daytime classes in Lethbridge, you can also continue to work while you pursue your education.

Which CPA Bridging certificate is right for you?

The Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting Fundamentals is right for you if: • you have a degree in a discipline other than accounting • you want to advance in your career with business skills in accounting • y ou’re interested in completing the 10-course certificate at your own pace, either fulltime or part-time, in as little as one year • y ou’re interested in pursuing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and want to begin earning courses toward entry into PEP • you can problem solve in innovative ways The Post-Bachelor Certificate in Advanced Accounting is right for you if: • y ou have a degree in accounting or substantial university level coursework in accounting • you have completed the Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting Fundamentals • y ou’re interested in pursuing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and need to upgrade or complete the advanced level courses for entry into the CPA Professional Education Program • y ou’re interested in completing the six-course certificate either full-time or part-time in as little as eight months • you want to improve organizational performance • you’re interested in strategic business analysis • y ou take responsibility for projects, can work independently and can give direction to others The Post-Bachelor Combined Certificates in Accounting are right for you if: • y ou are looking for a 16-course program you can complete on a full-time or part-time basis in as little as two years • you’re interested in being eligible for co-operative education
