Silent Auction

We invite all guests to participate in A SILENT AUCTION during the Reporting and Benefit Event “Engaging Our Core” on the 5th of October 2024 in the Cathedral Hall

Bidding on the auction lots will begin during the cocktail reception and throughout the dinner program. All bids must be made in increments as identified on the bid sheet that evening.

Saint George

Was born in 1979 in Ternopil, Ukraine 2001 graduated from the Lviv Theological Academy (now the Ukrainian Catholic University) In 2003 he completed his Master’s degree at the Catholic University in Lublin as well as his doctoral studies at the University’s Institute of Art History. For many years he worked at the Andrei Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv and presently he works at the Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life in Lviv named after Klymentiy Sheptytskyi.

Was born in New York City to Ukrainian immigrant parents She attended the University of the Arts earning a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and an Associates Degree in Graphic Arts from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia She worked as a graphic designer for The Please Touch Museum and then as Art Director for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Her art has been exhibited in various shows and venues in the United States.

Halyna Mizak lives in the Philadelphia area and works as an archivist in the Province of the Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great In 1985 she graduated from the Lviv Academy of Fine Arts She worked as a restorer of XV to XVIII century pieces at the Lviv National Art Gallery. She participated in the restoration of numerous iconostases, including the renowned Pyatnytsky iconostasis, an early 17h century national treasure Halyna continuously enhanced her professional expertise participating in international apprenticeships and exhibitions

Her work has been widely exhibited, including such venues as The Ukrainian Museum (NYC), The Museum of Cultural Heritage (Kyiv, Ukraine), the American Embassy (Doha, Qatar) as well as the White House (DC).

Olena Labunka was born in 1976 in the city of Dnipro, Ukraine She completed her higher education at the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv, with a degree in International Journalism Olena has conducted several workshops on how to make Ukrainian rag dolls ("motanky") as well as Ukrainian Easter eggs ("pysanky") in the Philadelphia metro area. However, her biggest inspiration is designing stylized Ukrainian necklaces ("namysta").

A Laureate of the Vasyl Stus Prize. Her artworks are found in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, USA, Canada.

Yarko Kozak was born on April 17, 1941 in Krakow, Poland

During the war, the family first moved to Berchtesgaden, Germany and in 1948 immigrated to Detroit Yarko graduated from University of Detroit High School and Wayne State University. For many years he worked at General Motors He was an artist that painted icons, landscapes and abstracts. Yarko was active in the Ukrainian community, generously donating his talent to illustrating books, magazines and programs and painting scenery for plays
