HAPPY 70TH ANNIVERSARY UKRAINIAN FEDERAL CREDIT UNION

When our credit union was founded in 1953, it was a small group of volunteers who came together with a common goal: to provide financial services to our newly arrived immigrants, friends, and neighbors.

Over 70 years UFCU has lived up to its credit union promise of providing improved member service to our membership and to the many credit union common bond organizations that we serve. We are also committed to providing these services at a fair price with the highest level of personalized service. Since our beginning, we have grown from a small one location credit union organization, with a few hundred members, to today’s current 14 branches nationwide and 27,000 members. UFCU has become a well-established brand name providing service in English and Ukrainian as well as several other languages. We ranked 6th on the Rochester Business Journal’s List of Credit Unions by asset size and have earned the highest 5-Star Superior rating for financial strength and stability by Bauer Financial, Inc. Recently, our Credit Union was awarded the distinguished honor of being named a top work place. UFCU is financially safe and sound, our membership is growing, and we are most committed to the wellbeing of our members!

Понад 70 років УФКС виконує свою обіцянку щодо надання покращених послуг нашим членам та багатьом організаціям, які ми обслуговуємо. Our Ukrainian Federal Credit Union team, consisting of management and volunteers, continues to thrive to improve on our mission, vision, and values. We are on a continuous improvement journey to be the financial provider of choice and to be one of the leading Ukrainian credit unions in the USA. We are here to serve and help our members achieve their financial success along with their personal dreams. We have helped our membership to buy vehicles, commercial trucks, homes, start businesses, and send their children to college. We initiated the first savings and children’s mitten club accounts. UFCU has provided financial assistance and counseling to those in need during these challenging times. In current turbulent times, especially with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the war has impacted many of our members. We continue to work closely with our branches and common bond organizations to support our membership in assisting them with real time medical and humanitarian aid. Our Ukrainian American Community Foundation is at the forefront of supporting various cultural, educational, religious, civic, youth and humanitarian programs that tie into our common bond relationships.

This year was undoubtedly one of challenges and hardships, as the Russian invasion into Ukraine left an indelible impact on not only the people of Ukraine, global economy and financial markets but also on our very own community. In the face of adversity, our credit union rose to the occasion, demonstrating unwavering resilience and compassion.

Community Mobilization & Humanitarian Efforts

As the conflict in Ukraine unfolded, our credit union took immediate action to support those affected. Our community united, showing solidarity and compassion for our fellow Ukrainians. The credit union was instrumental in launching extensive volunteering, fundraising, and donation campaigns, gathering humanitarian aid and medical supplies for those in need. Through the relentless efforts of our team and in conjunction with the Ukrainian American Community Foundation, we directed over $72,000 in monetary donations to humanitarian aid organizations supporting Ukraine in the areas we serve. After the start of full-scale war we waived fees for all monetary transfers of donations to Ukraine. While we continue these vital activities, our hearts are with Ukraine, and we fervently hope for their triumph over adversity.

Мобілізація громади та гуманітарні зусилля З розгортанням конфлікту в Україні наша кредитна спілка негайно вжила заходів для підтримки постраждалих. Наша громада об’єдналася, виявивши солідарність і співчуття до співвітчизників-українців. Кредитна спілка відіграла важливу роль у започаткуванні широкомасштабних волонтерських кампаній, зборі коштів і пожертвувань, гуманітарної допомоги та медичних товарів для тих, хто цього потребує. Завдяки невпинним зусиллям нашої команди та спільно з УкраїнськоАмериканською Громадською Фундацією ми спрямували понад 72 000 доларів США грошових пожертв гуманітарним організаціям, які підтримують Україну в регіонах, які ми обслуговуємо. Після початку повномасштабної війни ми відмовилися від плати за всі грошові перекази пожертв в Україну. Поки ми продовжуємо цю життєво важливу діяльність, наші серця з Україною, і ми палко віримо в перемогу.

Financial Growth & Stability

This last year challenged us to respond and adapt to changing economic conditions. In the wake of the pandemic, we contended with rising inflation and interest rates that increased more and at a faster pace than any time in history. Despite these challenges, UFCU continued to provide high quality competitively priced products and services and demonstrated robust financial performance in 2022. Our total assets increased by 9%, surpassing $372 million, reflecting the trust and confidence our members place in us. Our loan portfolio expanded by an impressive 13.5%, reaching $317 million, as we continued to offer competitive loan products tailored to the diverse needs of our members. Additionally, our deposit base grew by 6%, amounting to $322 million, a testament to our commitment to safeguarding our members' hard-earned savings. Net income for the year amounted to $2.763 million, a remarkable achievement considering the economic challenges we faced. Our prudent financial management, diversified product offerings, and efficient operations were key drivers of this strong performance.

Membership Growth

The credit union experienced an exceptional growth in membership, reaching a record increase of 12% and reaching 25,604 members in our UFCU family. This remarkable surge was primarily driven by the influx of humanitarian parolees from Ukraine, particularly in our branches located in New York State. To support these new arrivals in their transition to the United States, our team worked proactively to develop specialized accounts, credit card options, and loan programs, helping them establish a solid credit history and financial footing in their new home.

Best place to work

In 2022 our credit union administered an employee survey to measure staff’s engagement and satisfaction. Based on the feedback our employees provided, UFCU was named a Top Workplace in 2023 Rochester Top Workplaces competition! The list was announced in March in our Rochester newspaper, Democrat & Chronicle. We thank all our employees for your hard work and dedication. You are the most important part of the success of our organization!

Product & Service Offerings

Responding to the evolving needs of our members, we expanded our product and service offerings. With a focus on enhancing member services and engagement, we embraced technology and digital platforms to provide seamless and secure access to our members' accounts. Our mobile banking app was enhanced to offer even greater convenience, while additional self-service options were introduced through our online banking platform, including business ACH transfers and expanded electronic signature capabilities. Zelle person-to-person payments will become available later in 2023 as our team has been working on the implementation of this valuable service. Also in 2023 we are

planning to roll out additional checking and savings options with higher interest or cash-back potential.

New mortgage options, particularly tailored to first-time homebuyers, were introduced, and our small business lending program received enhancements to empower entrepreneurs within our community. Our expansion efforts into the Carolinas, notably the opening of a new branch in Spartanburg, SC, further reinforce our commitment to reaching and supporting more members.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring the long-term financial stability and sustainability of Ukrainian Federal Credit Union. Embracing innovation and technology, we will continue to provide modern and convenient banking services. We will invest in our team, equipping them with the tools and training needed to deliver unparalleled member experiences. Most importantly, we will steadfastly support the organizations tirelessly working to uplift Ukraine in its time of need.

I am pleased to provide our members with an outstanding 2022 Treasurer’s Report for the Ukrainian Federal Credit Union. UFCU continues to serve as our members’ financial resource and trusted partner.

In 2022 UFCU finished with a net income of $ 2.8 million. The credit union size as measured by total assets increased by $31 million or 8.9% to $372.3 million. Our credit union continues to be considered “well-capitalized” as measured by the NCUA with a net worth ratio at year-end of 7.98%. This measure represents a high level of safety and soundness and offers an added protection to the possibility of any unforeseen losses. Additionally, net worth provides UFCU the capacity to offer new and enhanced future services, an extensive branch network, as well as the opportunity to support strong future growth. Similar growth was experienced in member shares which increased by $18.5 million. Loan growth was exceptionally solid with loan balances increasing $38 million or 13.5% to $317.3 million.

In 2022, UFCU served 25,604 members (12% increase) through online transactions, shared branching and in our 13 branches located throughout the country. UFCU continued to support our communities through the lending of $96M in Member Business Loans of which $47.2M in Commercial loans and $25.3M in Church loans. Commercial loans represented 49.2% and Church loans represented 26.3% of our portfolio. The consumer loan growth stemmed from member demand for Home Equity Lines of Credit increasing by $5.4 Million or 35.7%. Another leading contributor to our loan growth is the increase in new and used auto loans, which grew by 12.8% and 4.7% respectively. Despite a rising rate environment, we attribute our loan growth largely to streamlined lending processes and the attractive rates we offer our members.

We experienced growth in many areas while maintaining stability and financial strength. We provided outstanding service and exceptional value to our members despite a challenging interest rate environment by keeping our expenses low. Challenges are almost always a given, and this year, we overcame many while moving the Credit Union forward.

2022 рiк УФКС завершила з чистим прибутком у 2,8 млн доларів. Розмір кредитної спілки, виміряний загальними активами, збільшився на 31 мільйон доларів США, або на 8,9%, до 372,3 млн доларів США. Наша кредитна спілка продовжує вважатися «добре капіталізованою» за оцінками Національної Адміністрації Кредитних Спілок (NCUA) з коефіцієнтом чистого капіталу на кінець року 7,98%. У 2022 році УФКС обслуговувала 25 604 членів (зростання на 12%) через онлайн-транзакції, спільні відділення та 13 відділень, розташованих по всій країні. УФКС продовжувала підтримувати наші громади, надавши 96 мільйонів доларів США на бізнес-позики для членів, з яких 47,2 мільйона доларів на комерційні позики та 25,3 мільйонів доларів позики для церков. Комерційні позики становили 49,2%, а церковні - 26,3% нашого портфеля. Report from the Community Relations Committee

During the 2022 reporting period the Community Relations Commit tee (CRC) followed all rules and criteria set forth by the Board of Direc tors of our Credit Union. Thanks to the successful work of the Board of Directors and Management, our Credit Union grew and excelled in the areas of security and reliability of member services.

Communities and organizations were and are an integral part of our great cooperative family. The growth of Credit Union membership and its future depends on cooperation with them. Advisory Committees are established in the areas of our branches, which are made up of members of local, cultural, and religious organizations. Thanks to advisory committees, the Board of Directors and Executive Team are better informed about the life and needs of communities.

Advisory Committee members have access to a separate, internetbased resource connecting them directly with the Credit Union. By using this internet platform our volunteers, who work in areas near our branches, acquire more information about our activities, and have the opportunity to provide their own input or proposals as it relates to the improvement of our branch services.

During the 2022 reporting period the CRC systematically reviewed and submitted for approval to the Board of Directors all requests for financial assistance received from local non-profit organizations. As a result of the allocation of funds from the marketing and advertising budget we were able to provide significant support to our communities.

With the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022, the members of our Credit Union actively participated in helping the people of Ukraine. In all areas where our branches operate, community organizations, associations were created for the purpose of providing urgent assistance to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, as well as refugees in bordering countries. Our Credit Union Board of Directors made a decision on additional financial assistance to organizations engaged in the purchase and delivery of humanitarian aid, medical equipment and medicine to Ukraine.

During the reporting period the CRC continued to coordinate the cooperation between the Credit Union and the Consulate General of Ukraine in the U.S. for the benefit of the membership of our cooperative family. For the communities of Syracuse, Rochester and

Buffalo in 2022, consular services were conducted twice by employees of the Consulate General of Ukraine in New York. Employees of the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco conducted an on-site consular service for citizens on the premises of our branch in Seattle, Washington. The Department of the Consular Service of the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington conducted consular services for citizens on the premises of our branches in the cities of Charlotte, North Carolina – twice – and Parma, Ohio – twice.

The CRC sincerely thanks all volunteers for their efforts for the benefit of our cooperative family. We invite active members, especially representatives of the younger generation of our Credit Union, to participate in the work of our committees. We thank all members of our Credit Union for trusting us.

Комітет Зв‘язків з Громадою в звітному періоді 2022 року в своїй роботі

дотримувався всіх правил і критеріїв , які були затверджені Радою Директорів

нашої Кредитної Спілки . Завдяки успішній праці Дирекції та Менеджменту

наша Кредитна Спілка пройшла ще один етап зростання безпеки та надійності

обслуговування членства.

Важливою частиною нашої Великої Кооперативної Родини були і є громади і громадські організації . Саме від співпраці з ними залежить ріст членства нашої Спілки та її майбутнє.

На місцях , де працюють філії нашої Кредитної Спілки , створені дорадчі комітети, члени яких представляють місцеві громадські, культурні і релігійні організації . Завдяки дорадчим комітетам, Дирекція і Менеджмент більше інформовані про життя і потреби громад. Члени дорадчих комітетів мають доступ до окремої сторінки на Інтернет-ресурсі нашої спілки. Користуючись цим ресурсом, наші волонтери, які працюють на місцях, отримують більше інформації про нашу діяльність, можуть оперативніше подавати свої зауваження та пропозиції щодо покращення роботи філій.

В звітному періоді 2022 року Комітетом Зв‘язків з Громадою систематично розглядались і представлялись на затвердження Дирекцією всі прохання про надання фінансової допомоги, які надходили від місцевих неприбуткових організацій. Вагомою підтримкою громад було виділення коштів з бюджету маркетингу і реклами.

З початком повномасштабної війни Росії проти України в лютому 2022 року, члени нашої Кредитної Спілки активно включились в процеси допомоги народу України. У всіх місцях де працюють наші філії , були створені громадські комітети, організації , асоціації з метою термінової допомоги братам і сестрам в Україні, а також біженцям на кордонах інших держав. Дирекцією нашої Кредитної Спілки було прийнято рішення про додаткову фінансову допомогу організаціям які займались придбанням і відправкою в Україну гуманітарної допомоги, медичного обладнання і медикаментів.

Комітет Зв‘язків з Громадою протягом звітного 2022 року продовжував координацію програми співпраці Кредитної Спілки з Дипломатичними Представництвами України в США на благо членства нашої Кооперативної Родини.

Для громад Сиракюз, Рочестеру і Баффало в 2022 році було проведено двічі виїзні Консульські обслуговування працівниками Генерального Консульства України в НьюЙорку. Співробітниками Генерального Консульства України в Сан Франциско було проведено виїзне Консульське обслуговування громадян в приміщенні нашої філії в Сіетлі, штат Вашінгтон. Департаментом Консульської Служби Посольства України в Вашінгтоні проводились виїзні Консульські обслуговування громадян в приміщеннях наших філій в містах Шарлот, Північна Кароліна два рази та Парма, штат Огайо два рази.

В своїй діяльності наш комітет тісно співпрацював і знаходив порозуміння з Дирекцією, Менеджментом та працівниками Кредитної Спілки .

Комітет Зв‘язків з Громадою вдячний за співпрацю всім волонтерам, членам дорадчих комітетів всіх наших філій на місцях. Запрошуємо членів нашої Кредитної Спілки, особливо молоде покоління до співпраці в місцевих дорадчих комітетах. Дякуємо всім членам нашої Кредитної Спілки за довіру до нас.

Report from the Supervisory Committee

DR. GEORGE HAJDUCZOK | CHAIR SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE

In September 2022, the Ukrainian Federal Credit Union (UFCU) Board appointed its Supervisory Committee for the coming year. The board reappointed four regular pastcommittee members and the committee chair for another term. George Hajduczok was reappointed as chair, while Olga Kovaliov, Vasiliy Gritsuta, Ihor Levkiv and Rostislav Melnik continued their service to the committee.

With the Covid-19 pandemic nearly over and operations having returned to near normal, some logistical challenges remained with virtual communications still necessary as Committee members are based in multiple cities across the country. The committee held its own separate meetings as noted in the committee minutes, and met with the board throughout the year virtually. The plan of work was completed and all communications and prescribed written reports were posted to the secure UFCU Basecamp page to ensure that UFCU is in compliance with the Federal Credit Union Act, the rules and regulations of the NCUA, and UFCU’s own by-laws.

The Supervisory Committee conducted a thorough and recurring set of audits throughout the past year that show the Credit Union currently is financially strong and well managed. The committee audit responsibilities included contracting with an Internal Auditor to establish an audit rotation of key areas and submitted reports on compliance requirements for the Credit Union. The results of the Bank Secrecy Act audit and a number of other audits were reviewed as positive for both our internal and external network controls and information security. The internal audit review process continued on schedule and has provided management and the board with significant feedback about the policies and procedures in place to maintain our member security.

For the year ending 2022, the auditing firm of Bonadio & Co. LLP, served as an external auditor to review UFCU’s financial statements. The Credit Union received an unqualified opinion statement from the external auditors in March 2022, and the committee was provided a statement that the yearly verification of member accounts had been performed. The recommendations of the yearly audit were formally submitted to UFCU management, and the committee followed up with management for responses to the recommendations stated in the audit. The results of that audit stated that the overall quality of the Credit Union’s financial reporting was presented fairly in all material respects and conformed to the accounting principles generally accepted (GAAP) in the United States of America.

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is the independent federal agency that insures deposits at federally insured credit unions and protects the members who own credit unions and regulates federal credit unions. The NCUA completed and submitted its examination of the Credit Union July 2023. The Supervisory Committee Chair met virtually with the NCUA officials to discuss its role, obligations and activities. The committee is happy to report that no significant deficiencies were noted.

The Committee also went through the process of selecting an accounting firm to perform internal and external audits for the next audit cycle as the previous contract was near expiration. A request for proposal (RFP) was drafted by the Committee and sent to prospective accounting firms. After receipt and review of respondent proposals, a contract with the professional auditing firm of Bonadio & Co. LLP was offered and accepted January 2023.

In addition to reviewing all the professional audits, the Supervisory Committee also conducted quarterly closed accounts reviews in conjunction with COO Tanya Dashkevich. The committee has maintained open lines of communication to resolve member concerns and correspondences through a separate mailing address and a published member-contact, online address. The committee again was able to fulfill the assigned fiduciary responsibilities in a timely fashion, and is giving its full support to the current board and management. The Supervisory Committee stands ready to aid in the resolution of any member inquiries that may arise during the 2023 calendar year.

У вересні 2022 року правління Української Федеральної Кредитної Спілки (УФКС)

призначило Наглядовий Комітет на наступний рік. Правління повторно призначило

чотирьох колишніх членів комітету та голову комітету на наступний термін. Георгія Гайдучка знову призначено головою комітету, а Ольга Ковальов, Василь Грицута, Ігор Левків та Ростислав Мельник продовжили працювати в комітеті.

Оскільки пандемія Covid-19 майже закінчилася, а робота повернулася майже до нормального стану, залишилися деякі логістичні проблеми, оскільки віртуальні комунікації все ще необхідні, а члени Комітету працюють у багатьох містах по всій країні. Комітет проводив власні окремі засідання, як зазначено в протоколі комітету, і зустрічався з правлінням протягом року віртуально. План роботи було завершено, і всі повідомлення та письмові звіти були опубліковані на захищеній сторінці УФКС Basecamp, щоб переконатися, що УФКС відповідає Закону про Федеральну Кредитну Спілку, правилам і положенням NCUA та власним статутам УФКС.

Наглядовий Комітет проводив ретельні та регулярні перевірки протягом минулого року, які показали, що Кредитна Спілка наразі є фінансово сильною та добре керованою. Обов’язки комітету з аудиту включали укладання контракту з внутрішнім аудитором для встановлення ротації аудиту ключових сфер і подання звітів про відповідність вимогам кредитної спілки. Результати перевірки Закону про банківську таємницю та ряду інших перевірок були оцінені позитивнo, як для наших внутрішніх, так і зовнішніх засобів контролю мережі та інформаційної безпеки. Процес перевірки внутрішнього аудиту тривав за графіком і надав керівництву та раді важливий відгук про політику та процедури, які застосовуються для забезпечення безпеки наших членів.

У 2022 році аудиторська фірма Bonadio & Co. LLP виступила зовнішнім аудитором для перевірки фінансової звітності UFCU. Кредитна Спілка отримала висновок без застережень від зовнішніх аудиторів у березні 2022 року, а комітет отримав звіт про те, що щорічна перевірка рахунків членів була проведена. Рекомендації щорічного аудиту були офіційно надані керівництву УФКС, і комітет звернувся до керівництва для отримання відповідей на рекомендації, викладені в аудиті. Результати цього аудиту засвідчили, що загальна якість фінансової звітності Кредитної Спілки була представлена вірно в усіх

суттєвих аспектах і відповідала загальноприйнятим принципам бухгалтерського обліку (GAAP) у Сполучених Штатах Америки.

Національна Адміністрація Кредитних Спілок (NCUA) — це незалежне федеральне агентство, яке страхує депозити в кредитних спілках із федеральним страхуванням і захищає членів, які є власниками кредитних спілок, і регулює діяльність федеральних кредитних спілок. У липні 2023 року NCUA завершила перевірку Кредитної Cпілки та подала її результати на розгляд. Голова Наглядового Комітету зустрівся віртуально з офіційними особами NCUA, щоб обговорити роль комітету, обов’язки та діяльність. Комітет радий повідомити, що суттєвих недоліків помічено не було.

Комітет також пройшов процес вибору бухгалтерської фірми для проведення внутрішнього та зовнішнього аудиту для наступного циклу аудиту, оскільки попередній контракт майже закінчувався. Запит на пропозицію (RFP) був складений Комітетом і надісланий потенційним аудиторським компаніям. Після отримання та розгляду пропозицій респондента було запропоновано та прийнято контракт із професійною аудиторською фірмою Bonadio & Co. LLP у січні 2023 року.

Окрім перегляду всіх професійних аудитів, Наглядовий Комітет також проводив щоквартальні перевірки закритих рахунків спільно з головною операційною директоркою Танею Дашкевич. Комітет підтримував відкриті лінії зв’язку для вирішення проблем членів і листування через окрему поштову адресу та опубліковану онлайн-адресу для контактів членів. Комітет знову зміг своєчасно виконати покладені на нього фідуціарні обов’язки та надає повну підтримку нинішньому правлінню та керівництву. Наглядовий комітет готовий допомогти у вирішенні будь яких запитів членів, які можуть виникнути протягом 2023 календарного року.

Mitigating Risk in Times of Need

The war in Ukraine has prompted a universal call for help, whether that be for humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and/ or financial support. Unfortunately, tragedies are made worse by scam artists who prey on the empathy of concerned citizens, including credit union members, with fundraising schemes. Below we share risk mitigation tips as provided by our partners at TruStage™.

UFCU members should consider the following risk mitigation tips regarding donations to support any type of relief efforts:

• do not click on a link or attachment to donate online in an email received from someone unknown to you, and verify the request via other communication channels if an unsolicited online donation request is received from a friend or family member;

• do not provide personal identifying information or debit/credit card numbers in response to an unsolicited charitable request;

• resist high-pressure tactics and those with a sense of urgency and be aware of direct emails from “victims” and solicitors who have a heart-wrenching story;

• research the organization requesting the donation and if you do not feel comfortable, proactively research charitable organizations you may be more familiar with;

• look up the relief efforts through a site such as BBB Wise Giving Alliance, Charity Navigator or CharityWatch and read online reviews, then, enter the URL of the charity yourself to independently confirm you are coordinating with the correct organization;

• be wary of proactive outreaches requesting wire transfers and cryptocurrency;

• do not donate gift cards;

• if donating to a charity’s website, make sure the website is secure (begins with “https”), your internet connection is secure, your computer is equipped with the latest updated anti-virus protection, and make sure the entity you’re donating to is a legitimate charity; and

• if possible, always pay by credit card, which offers additional layers of protection and if donating via check, always make the check payable to the charity instead of an individual.

На жаль, ситуація погіршується через шахраїв, які використовують співчуття небайдужих громадян, у тому числі членів кредитних спілок, у злочинних схемах збору коштів. Нижче ми ділимося порадами щодо зменшення ризиків, наданими нашими партнерами компанії TruStage™.

Члени УФКС повинні прислухатись до наступних порад, щоб зменшити ризики при наданні пожертвувань для підтримки будь яких заходів з надання допомоги:

• не натискайте посилання або вкладки в електронному листі, отриманому від невідомої вам особи, щоб зробити пожертву онлайн та перевірте запит через інші канали зв’язку, якщо несподіваний онлайн-запит на пожертву отримано від друга або члена сім’ї;

• не надавайте ідентифікаційну інформацію або номери дебетових/кредитних карток у відповідь на непроханий благодійний запит;

• протистійте тактиці грубого тиску та терміновості, будьте обережними з листами від «жертв» і адвокатів, які розповідають жахливі історії;

• досліджуйте організацію, яка закликає до пожертв, і якщо ви не почуваєтеся комфортно, шукайте благодійні організації, яким ви можете довіряти;

CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING STEPS

1. REVIEW RECENT TRANSACTIONS

a. WHO was the merchant?

b. WHAT was the purchase?

c. WHEN did the transaction occur?

d. WHERE did the transaction take place?

If you cannot answer all of these questions, please take additional actions. The quickest way to review recent transactions is to log into online or mobile banking or call UFCU at (877) 968-7828.

2. REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY & DEACTIVATE CARD

Access our Service Center in online or mobile banking and select “Reactivate/Deactivate My Card”. If you don’t have online access, you may call UFCU at (877) 968-7828 or 24-hr Card Services (866) 820-4875 (credit) or (888) 918-7740 (debit).

3. PREPARE TO DISPUTE THE CHARGE

Even if you successfully deactivated or blocked your debit and/or credit card account, additional actions are advised if an unauthorized transaction has been completed. Visit ukrainianfcu.org to complete a cardholder dispute form. Submit via email to cardservices@ukrainianfcu.org or to any of our branches as soon as possible.

4. REGISTER FOR ALERTS

We strongly advise setting up alerts & notifications in our Service Center within online or mobile banking. Instantly know what is occurring in your account/s without having to constantly check. All debit & credit account holders are also automatically enrolled in Automated Fraud Alerts (AFA). Save (800) 272-9446 in your phone directory as 'UFCU Fraud Alert' and know immediately if your account/s is being compromised.

Our History

While we constantly look forward to serving our members and our communities, we also look back at our humble beginnings 70 years ago, and what we accomplished throughout our storied history. We thank our volunteers, staff, leadership, and most of all, our members, for being part of the journey.

1987

A major milestone was achieved when the Credit Union outgrew its facilities and purchased a former health spa facility at 824 Ridge Road East in Irondequoit, NY. Tamara Denysenko was appointed as General Manager.

1953

The charter for the Rochester Ukrainian Federal Credit Union (RUFCU) was signed on July 10, 1953, by eight founding members. In addition to the eight initial members, twenty others joined the credit union within the original common bond of the Ukrainian National Association (UNA) and the Ukrainian Fraternal Association (UFA). The initial founders became the first employees and worked without pay in a small corner office of the Ukrainian Civic Center located at 831 Joseph Ave., Rochester, NY. The first member meeting was held on September 25, 1953.

1955

RUFCU grew to 200 members, $27,000 in savings $23,000 in loans. In order to communicate more effectively to our membership a quarterly newsletter called the Credit Union Bulletin was created.

1963

The Credit Union celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a membership of 1,100 and $800,000 in assets.

1970

The Credit Union Bulletin went through a transformation, and due to the layout and content of the magazine, the name was changed to the Credit Union Opinion.

1998

The Credit Union celebrated its 45th Anniversary with almost 6,000 members and assets exceeding $58 million.

2000

RUFCU joined the Rochester Ukrainian community in celebrating 100 years since the first arrival of Ukrainian immigrants to the area.

2001

The first branch is opened in New York’s Capital District in Watervliet, NY, on May 12, 2001.

2004

An official merger between the Ukrainian Self Reliance Syracuse NY FCU and the Rochester Ukrainian FCU added over 1,900 members to the roster and over $16.9 million in assets. To reflect the expanding common bond, RUFCU went through a name change. It became the Ukrainian Federal Credit Union (UFCU) serving its members from coast to coast.

2006

UFCU expanded its membership further northwest by opening a branch in Portland, Oregon, on August, 24. As of September, UFCU membership reached 15,730 and assets exceeded $124.2 million.

2007

Ukrainian FCU upgraded its computer system to provide new products and improvements to its electronic services. Membership grew to more than 16,800 and assets exceeded $130 million.

2003

The Credit Union celebrated its 50th Anniversary of service to the Ukrainian–American community in the New York State area. To meet the demands of the growing Ukrainian community in Sacramento, California, RUFCU opened its second branch in February. Over 300 members already signed up before the doors officially opened in Citrus Heights, CA.

2005

The Ukrainian Fraternal FCU in Boston, Massachusetts, merged with UFCU as of March 1, 2005. Ukrainian FCU assets exceeded $120 million with membership of 15,000. Ukrainian Federal Credit Union’s publication The Opinion celebrated 50 years of keeping its membership informed and entertained while promoting credit union services and community news.

2008

The Credit Union celebrated its 55th Anniversary. A new Audio Response System was installed in English and Ukrainian languages. UFCU awarded $24,000 in Scholarship awards to student members.

2008-2009

UFCU weathered the Great Recession of 2008 and finished year 2009 with over 16,000 members and $138 million in assets.

2010

Ukrainian-American Community Foundation is founded by UFCU to support community, cultural, educational, religious, civic, youth and humanitarian aid projects.

Oleg Lebedko appointed as CEO.

2014

New branches in Webster, NY and Vancouver, WA open their doors. UFCU is continuing to upgrade its technology offerings by implementing a mobile phone app. Several charity events are organized to raise funds for humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

2013

60th Anniversary of UFCU, 45th Anniversary of the Selfreliance Syracuse NY FCU (now UFCU Syracuse branch), and 10th Anniversary of the Sacramento branch. Ukrainian Home Dnipro FCU in Buffalo, NY, merged with UFCU. The Credit Union grows to 7 branches, over 18,000 members, and nearly $170 million dollars in assets.

2015

Two new branches open: in Amherst, NY and Federal Way, WA. UFCU recognized by MemberShoppers as one of America’s top credit unions in providing outstanding member service.

2016

merges with UFCU on January 1. The credit union‘s assets now exceed $200 million, membership – over 20,000 in 12 branches across the country.

Osnova Ukrainian FCU

2017

UFCU made major enhancements to improve service to its members. We developed a brand new website, entirely redesigned our phone system, and added over 5,000 CO-OP Shared Branches so members can transact on their account within any state in the U.S. just like at any UFCU branch.

2019

New branches in Matthews, NC, and Rancho Cordova, CA. We moved our Citrus Heights, CA branch into a newly remodeled space and purchased our own building to house our relocated Portland, OR branch. UFCU has thirteen branches in seven states. Membership exceeds 22,000.

2018

65th Anniversary of UFCU and 50th Anniversary of Syracuse Branch. Credit union’s assets exceed $240 million.

2020

5th Anniversary of Amherst, NY and Federal Way, WA branches. Credit union’s assets exceed $300 million. COVID-19 pandemic disrupts day to day life.

2022

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine begins, leading to thousands of displaced families resettling in the U.S. UFCU and its common bond organizations and churches collect and distribute humanitarian aid.

2023

New branch in Spartanburg, SC. Vancouver, WA branch is relocated. UFCU is designated as a Top Work Place by the Democrat & Chronicle. 70th Anniversary of UFCU, 55th Anniversary of the Syracuse branch, and 20th Anniversary of opening our first branch in California. UFCU has fourteen branches in eight states. Membership exceeds 27,000. Credit union’s assets surpass $380 million dollars.

O Representatives from several Ukrainian-American credit unions, together with the President of World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) Elissa McCarter-LaBorde and other WOCCU representatives, visit Embassy of Ukraine in Washington DC to meet with Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S.

P ROC Maidan volunteers ship 15th humanitarian aid container since February 2022 with a donation from the Ukrainian-American Community Foundation.
