“The Taras Shevchenko Legacy: Why Does He Matter Today”
CONTEST GUIDELINES
• Open to all UFCU members (ages 13 to 18), with membership accounts before May 1, 2014.
• Essay, poem, art work, music or song must relate to Shevchenko’s creativity, life, poetry or art and must be original, unpublished, and written en tirely by the contestant.
• Essays (less than 600 words in length) and poems may be written in English or Ukrainian
• Musical composition - for any instrument or voice
• Art work/ drawings – not larger than 9 X 12
• One entry per member. Entries must be received no later than October 1, 2014
• Contest winners will be notified during In ternational Credit Union Week, October 13-17, 2014. Contest entries should be brought or mailed to: Ukrainian Federal Credit Union 824 E. Ridge Road Rochester, NY 14621

Competition entries will be evaluated and selected on the basis of originality, creativity, substance, and appropriateness to contest theme. e selection of winning entries shall be entirely at the discretion of the judging committee. e decision of the judges shall be nal. By submitting an essay, poem, art work or musical composition, contestants or guardian certify that they are the owners of any relevant intellectual property rights and assign all such rights to the Ukrainian-American Community Foundation, Inc. at Ukrainian FCU. All entries become the property of the UAC Foundation, Inc. e Foundation may, but is not obligated to publish or use submitted contest entries in any form and venue.
