Located in the heart of Halifax, our historic campus offers flexible event spaces alongside modern amenities, catering, technology support, parking, and seasonal accommodations, all within one compact and easy-to-navigate location. From intimate gatherings to conferences of up to 300 guests, we work with you to create a smooth, welcoming, and memorable experience that reflects your event and the people attending it. Expand YOUR K ING’S EXPERIENCE
Use the Dance Studio for rehearsals, movement or wellness activities, and the Gymnasium for recreation, programming or team-building. The Pit is ideal for performances and presentations, while the Wardroom provides a welcoming setting for networking and social gatherings. The Weight Room can also support guest recreation and wellness during their stay. Our one-stop approach gives you greater flexibility and reduces the need to coordinate multiple off-site locations, creating a more complete campus experience for your guests. Venue availability, capacity, requirements and fees should be confirmed with Conference Services during the booking process.

Conference Services works with the university’s on-campus food-service provider to coordinate catering across campus based on your event size, schedule, dietary requirements and selected venue. Catering can be arranged for meetings, receptions, conferences, celebrations, banquets and other gatherings in a variety of campus spaces, including Prince Hall. Availability, menu options, pricing, minimum orders and service requirements should be confirmed during the booking process.
BREAK FAST & MORNING SERVICE Start the day with breakfast packages, bakery selections, parfaits, breakfast sandwiches and coffee or tea service. Options can support early meetings, conference mornings and groups staying on campus during the summer.
RECEPTIONS, BREAKS & S O C I A L C AT E R I N G Add food and refreshments to networking events, receptions and breaks with platters, canapés, appetizers, desserts and beverage service. These options can help create a relaxed gathering between formal sessions or a more polished closing reception.
BOXED LUNCHES AND TO-GO MEALS Keep busy schedules moving with boxed sandwiches, wraps, salads and bowls that are easy to distribute between sessions or take on the go. Individual meal options can be coordinated based on your group size, schedule and dietary needs.
HOT BUFFETS & GROUP DINING Bring guests together for a shared meal with hot buffet options featuring complete menus, sides and vegetarian alternatives. This service is well suited to conference lunches, group dinners, celebrations and scheduled dining in Prince Hall.

From fitness and recreation to movementbased programming, King’s athletic spaces can help create a more balanced and engaging event experience. Conference Services can help coordinate access to spaces such as the Gymnasium, Weight Room and Dance Studio based on your group size, schedule, planned activities and event requirements. These spaces can support team-building, wellness sessions, athletic programming, rehearsals and opportunities for guests to stay active between conference activities. Availability, permitted uses, capacity, supervision, equipment access and additional fees should be confirmed during the booking process.
GYMNASIUM The King’s Gymnasium offers a flexible setting for athletic events, recreation, wellness programming, team-building activities, tournaments, camps, and group retreats. The space features a free-floating hardwood floor, bleacher seating, courts for basketball, volleyball, and badminton, Wi-Fi, and an on-site sound system.
WEIGHT ROOM The Weight Room offers convenient access to free weights, exercise benches, and equipped training cages overlooking the Gymnasium. It is a valuable addition for athletic groups, extended stays, and events that want to include fitness and wellness in the guest experience.
CARDIO ROOM The Cardio Room offers convenient on-campus equipment for individual workouts, wellness breaks, and maintaining regular fitness routines. It can complement other recreation spaces for conference attendees, athletic groups, residential guests, and participants in extended programs.
DANCE STUDIO The King’s Dance Studio features a 2,500-squarefoot sprung hardwood floor, full-wall mirrors, ballet barre, acoustics, and media capabilities. This adaptable space is ideal for dance rehearsals, yoga, Pilates, aerobics, self-defence, martial arts, and other creative or wellness programming.
C urate PERFORMANCE AND SOCIAL EVENTS
From live performances and curated showcases to receptions, networking events and social gatherings, King’s creative spaces can provide the atmosphere, flexibility and production support needed to bring your event to life. Conference Services can help identify and coordinate access to spaces such as the Pit, Wardroom and other adaptable venues based on the type of performance or social experience you are planning, anticipated attendance, event schedule and technical requirements. These spaces can accommodate concerts, spoken-word performances, DJ sets, rehearsals, screenings, artist talks, receptions, mixers, community gatherings and other curated cultural or social programming.

King’s offers a range of distinctive spaces that can support production needs, including historic interiors, academic settings, residence rooms (seasonally), dining spaces, green rooms or holding areas, and flexible gathering spaces for cast and crew. Select venues may be suitable for filming, rehearsals, wardrobe, staging or production support depending on the size and scope of the project. Our one-stop approach helps simplify planning by connecting productions with available spaces and a dedicated Conference Services staff person. Whether you are looking for a single location or multiple spaces to support a shoot, Conference Services can help identify options that suit your production requirements.
